Went to get my windshield replaced by Star Windshield on 3/23/23. Paid with cash. Drove my vehicle down the street and you could hear wind noise coming in the interior of the the suv. (BMW X5). Called Scott to inform him of the situation. Scott said to bring BMW X5 next week. We will take care of it. Got there and he said it was the moldings. I told him you said that the moldings were good and that it wouldn't be a issue. After I told him that he got defensive and started yelling at me and cursing at me. Scott has no customer service experience at all. All he says I've been in business for over 20 years. I don't know how. I will not recommend this place to anyone. The quality of the window film is great but the quality of customer care is lacking. I have taken 6 different vehicles to this shop because of its proximity to my apartment however I will no longer be coming here. On my last visit, I brought in a brand new car to have everything tinted and picked it up with no issues, I was very happy with the results. Later, I noticed that my new paint protection film on my door had been damaged, like the door was opened up near a wall and scraped up against it. I brought it up to the owner and without placing blame on them or requesting they fix it, etc. he proceeded to get extremely defensive and blame me for the damage. I would be able to admit fault if it was my own but the fact that the damage was caused by his team and the way he talked down on me saying that I caused the damage, couldn't keep my car clean and then tried to show off how clean his 30 year old Tacoma was... wow. All I wanted was acknowledgement, not even an apology, just so that he could make sure his team didn't damage any other cars in the future. read more

been waiting two months to get my windshield replaced after there was issues with first installment . was cracked from top of windshield. owner tried to say it was hit by something which was not true bc it cracked two days after and it was within the glass . I kept calling and each week was an excuse or shipments not in . this is unprofessional , bad customer service and haven't gotten a phone call, message or apology for the wait. owner also hasn't sent the $65 Bashas card for using his company . BEWARE I dropped off my truck in perfect condition, but when I picked it up later that day the "Check Engine" light was on. I didn't accuse anyone of doing harm to my vehicle, but when I brought it up the owner got really defensive. After pressing him for more info he threw me out of the shop, even though I never raised my voice or used profanity. Now that I'm doing more research online it appears that this has happened to multiple people. Even if the light was not the result of the shop's work, the owner seemed to know something he wasn't willing to share and couldn't get me out of the store soon enough. There was no sympathy or understanding, just accusations that I was lying and trying to extort money from him. For the record, the check engine light has never turned on since the truck was brand new until now. As a side note, before starting up my vehicle to drive it away, they advised me that if I post a five star review I would be given a gift and entered into a drawing for a trip to Disneyland. Not to sure what I should've expected, but the owner was quite rude when I asked if they did any specials with tinting with getting my windshield replaced (which they do not). Receptionist was very sassy too. If you go with them hopefully they change their attitudes for you. Only reason I went was because it was in a very convenient location for my work. -update: Dropped stars due to cheap glass. 20 days after getting it replaced, I got a huge crack on the passenger side windshield. Scott runs a solid business ! He was prompt in getting me scheduled for to tinting my 2016 Panamera, and ensured that the job was completed in the designated time. I recall using Scott for my previously owned Camero and he / team had done an outstanding job; so it was natural that I'd go back to someone I trusted... Enroute to his shop I cracked my windscreen (rock hit me on the I10), and he was prompt in presenting options in getting it fixed. He also recommended the tinting option that made most sense(he could have persuaded me to go for the expensive product). Susan at the front desk was extremely helpful and was super considerate (gave us options on things to do while we waited). As for the actual job- Outstanding quality of craftsmanship and product ! I brought my VW Rabbit to Star Windshield because I knew the owner Scott . I needed both front door windows replaced because of hazing and decided to have them tinted as well. I work in Tempe and had a co-worker follow me over and left the car for the day. When I picked it up the passenger window had a bubble in the tint but I was told to let it dry. I also found that the door panels were not put back on properly. I took it back to Scott who put the panels back on put told me to bring it back for a re-tint. Well, to make a long story short the re-tint was worse the the original tint job and the passenger window motor was not working properly now as well. I called this place to have my windshield repaired because it got hit by a rock on the freeway and had a big crack going across the drivers side view. From the initial contact, I spoke to a young lady named Rachel, she was very nice and customer service oriented. She scheduled me for a few days later and had a tech by the name of Gary come out. He was very nice and we spoke about cars together after he saw the cars I'm building sitting in my driveway. We spoke for a little while, while he was working and he told me that he wouldn't be able to do it that day because of the type of mouldings that were on the windshield. He contacted Rachel who said that they would have to order the mouldings to complete the installation and reschedule for another day. I waited a few days and she contacted me and said that Volvo ordered the wrong parts and asked me to send her pics of my windshield to her cell phone. I did as she asked but never heard back from her of any updates. I was expecting to at least hear that she received the pictures in a text back but never did. So I tried calling the office and realized it was after hours so I contacted them through Facebook and the owner explained what was going on to me. He said they will contact me shortly. It was already going on two weeks. I then waited a few days and never heard anything back again so I messaged them through Facebook again and stated that I haven't heard any updates and would like to know what's going on. He immediately became angry and said we can cancel the order if that's the case and was using exclamation points after every message as if he was yelling or frustrated with me. No apologies or anything. I remember thinking to myself like, "Wow this is the owner's customers service?" So I then told him it's just been a long time with no updates and I just want to know what's going on. He then told me he can tell the rep I canceled on Monday with some more exclamation points. I then told him it depends on how much longer it's going to be and that the way he's yelling at me isn't customer service oriented at all. He then replied by telling me, "If you think someone is yelling at you then let's not go forward....Safelite can do the job." I was so surprised but I mean I already should have known because he obvously has no customer service skills or knows how to talk to his customers. I then just told him to cancel the whole thing. Then the next day I called the rep to let her know I had canceled and also let her know that her customer service was excellent but it was the owner who persuaded me to change my mind. He was very rude and I choose not to do business with a company that has an owner handling things in this matter. She was apologetic and said that she was sorry about the whole situation and then proceeded to tell me that my type of windshield is going to have to problems finding and some other information but I talked to another company since then and that ended up not being the case. I understand sometimes things happen but the owner especially should have been more apologetic and explained what was going on instead of immediately telling me to go to another company. It's like he acted as if I'm going to be missing out on something when that was not the case at all. I am currently having another company do the job now and so far they have had excellent service and once they finish I will write a review of my experience with them after, whether it's positive or negative. I just could not believe that the owner of all people would have the nerve to speak to me in this manner and what kind of owner tells someone to go to another company? I will never do business with this company and will be sharing this review on my blogs as well. read more

I needed to get my windshield replaced and they did the tint for FREE. I already had some tint on my car but needed all the windows done as its getting suuuuper hot right now. These guys rock.....dropped off at 8am and had my windshield replaced and car tinted in 3 hours. They are reasonable if you need darker tint or old tint removed (70$ makes it cheaper than anyone in town to remove). Would recommend and will use again. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. Horrible customer service, swearing and screaming at me! I had my windshield replaced 6 months ago, the rear view mirror fell off twice in the first two months, and now the Third time except it pulled the glass with it. I called an talk to Scott about what happen and all he said was" well you can bring it in but it's nothing we did that's common sense". He hadn't even looked at my truck yet an already started getting defensive and told me I was and idiot for thinking it was something they did. I told him well the mirror won't stay on and this is the 3rd time i have had an issue with it so yes I do think it has to do with something you did, then he proceeded to tell me "that's bullshit you broke it and it's not my problem" I asked him why he was screaming at me and told him it wasn't needed I just was trying to get my windshield fixed. I told him I was gonna contact my insurances sense it was done through them an he didn't want to help, he said " that's fine I don't care take me to small claims court you wont get Sh$t I'm not scared" and then said "I was just trying to get something for free so F$ck you F$ckin A$$hole, your an idiot it's common sense what happen take your shit somewhere" He then hung up on me, I will never do business with this company again. I have free glass coverage through my Insurance, I can take my truck where ever I want so it didn't matter if it was free or cost money to fix it, I was just trying to keep giving this company my business. During a routine windshield replacement, Star Windshield damaged our car's molding, causing it to break and require replacement. Their mechanic acknowledged the damage but the owner refused to replace the molding. We had to take the car to our dealer to have the molding replaced. read more

Had the windshields on both of my vehicles replaced here. Within a year the molding on top of both vehicles began to come off. 1 technician had to come out to my work to fix and another to my home. About 4 months later the molding started coming off again of our van. This time the receptionist, asked me to bring the vehicle into their shop which is 35 miles from my house. She wanted the owner Scott to look at. When i arrived at the shop, Scott wasn't there yet, so I waited in the van. When Scott arrived he didn't want to take the time to meet me, apologize for the troubles we had. Just asked I pull it in the garage. After pulling it in, I asked if he knew what was causing this to happen on our vehicles. He was short and said "I don't know but if you'll have a seat, I'll take care of it" wanting to get some sort of explanation for why this happened on both vehicles, I asked could it be the technician did something wrong. same response. " I said i don't know what's causing this but if you'll have a seat, I'll take care of it for you. I sat in the waiting area, talking with the receptionist, told her good luck working here, since the owner was not interested in customer service. Another Technician fixed the molding and I told both the receptionist and the technician since the owner left, that if something happens again, I won't be back. The owner is just interested in getting your money or billing the insurance. He doesn't want to spend time to fix problems causing my his technicians or the supplies they use. I will not go back and would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other customer service minded installers in the valley. read more

We had our car tinted by Star Windshield on August 19, 2016. The car's tinting was not done properly as evident with many bubbles and minor scratches. I went to go see them today, and the man that tints refused to fix the error. I spoke to the owner, Scott, and he was not cooperative at all. He said that in the 20 years he has been in this business, he has not had issues with bubbles. Not only is his claim obviously false, but so is his promise: Lifetime Warranty. He said that they will not fix my car because the tinting is not guaranteed, which clearly contradicts his lifetime warranty. I used to own a car wash with a tint shop, and I know when a bad job has been done, and how it needs to be fixed. I will be taking my car to another shop to get the tint removed and done properly.
