Misa listened to my request and helped me choose the right colors to match the image of what I wanted. She did a great job on my fill, and I'm so happy that she didn't nick me at all! Literally worst experience ever. I wanted a gel manicure. They put me in a pedicure chair and sat the gel lamp on my lap!! She didn't use any words just pushed me hands where she wanted them. Would give a solid 3.5! I went to misa and my nails were very pretty! And she worked very fast. I was a little confused that my whole fingers were just dipped in a bowl of acetone though, it felt kind of odd rather than wrapping them in foil. Would get the solid 4 stars but I made a reservation at 6pm, showed up early at 5:15pm to see if I could get in and waited until 6:30. Girls who came in after me were getting sat before me and I was playing musical chairs they had me switch chairs 3 times. There was definitely no organization to the madness. With that being said I got a full gel set on my natural nails and it was $38 which is amazing! But it really frustrated me that they kept saying it'd only be 10 more minutes. The color selection isn't as good as my regular place, and the girl that did my nails didn't file down by the nail bed, so as they grew our I keep snagging my hair on the rough parts. This place is BAD! They are by far the cheapest in town for a reason. First, with gel nails they do not let them soak off, wrap them in foil. Soak in acetone. Nada! They just file all the gel off. Great for your nails- not. Plus it hurts. And I tell them owe and they keep going. They do not clean your cuticle up at all. Apply lotion. Nothing. Also I find it sketchy AF that they offer a discount for paying in cash-- hello taxes. Don't even waste your time on a pedi. 15 mins tops. Plus this place just looks dirty. I can't believe how packed it is. Probs cuz it's so cheap? Definitely not busy for the quality of service or the friendliness of staff. I gave this place a couple tries because of the price. I was a first time customer and i went with a friend. I usually go to Apple nails in Apple valley and they do a wonderful job but this was last min and my nails lady wasn't in so i went with a friend. This shop is by far the worst shop I've been to. I wouldn't even give them 1 start if it was up to me. I got a pedi and dip manicure. The pedi was ok but the dip manicure was a horrible experience. The dip was on my cuticle and they didn't clean up my cuticles at all. The lady that did it didn't shape my nails or file them even with the dip. I ended up spending $78 here and i tipped. I got home and woke up the next morning hating my nails. I called they told me to come right in they will fix it. I got there and the owner I'm guessing said she will not redo my nails. I told her just give me a gel manicure (what i was going to get but another girl in the shop recommended the dip). She told me that she will not give me a gel mani but i can PAY for one. I went on to tell her how i spent over $80 in here yesterday and she just didn't care. I went in for a gel fill with gel polish for my first visit here. The staff were unprofessional, but I'm assuming that was because it was 25 minutes until close and like 7 people walked in the door for walk in appointments. Besides that, I was offered water to drink and they had a beautiful variety of colors to choose from. I have never been happier with my nails ever and I have had my nails done about 20 times at all different places (literally 0 repeats because I am very picky) and this is the first place I will be returning to. My nails look and feel natural even though they aren't. They go all the way back to my cuticle without a giant space that most salon like to do to cheat you out of a week or so. My nails are also thin rather than bulky and uneven and I can use them like regular nails to pick things up and clean under my other nails. They are subtle and smooth from my cuticle to the tip of my finger (like real nails). And even though I have really short nails and nail beds, Tammy managed to make my nails look long and pretty anyway. In the past, I have also had an issue with manicurists not getting all of my nails on the sides, but this place had absolutely no problem and I didn't even have to ask her to fix it. She just did it. Throughout, she made me feel very comfortable asking her to fix or change things and she was not pushy, but had suggestions, which was helpful. My nails look beautiful and natural, again. The don't rise off my finger or anything. For the most part, it looks like I had my own nails painted. As an added bonus, my total for a gel fill with gel polish was $26, which is cheaper than everywhere else I have ever been. read more

I usually like this location, but I got a mani pedi and called ahead to see if it was busy, they said no so I went in. I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes. And it wasn't the best experience, my skin was cut too short causing bleeding, and it was kind of a messy paint job. It didn't seem like they were following COVID guidelines, there was too many people there, some not wearing masks, and the chairs and tools didn't seem to be sanitized after every use. I live in Loring park and I drive all the way to Eagan just to get my nails done. I do this because Star nails is the most welcoming and quality nail salon I have been to that takes walk ins. I always ask for Annie because in my opinion she is the BEST. She takes her time, is personable and my nails are more than perfect when I leave. THey take their time giving the leg massage during the pedicure unlike other places that give you a few pathetic moments of an attempted massage and its over. The last time I was in she fixed up a few of my gel nails that I had done the last time I was in without charging me (she took about 10-15 min to fix two of my gel nails). This is service. Had great service here today. The young woman who did my mani pedi took such care to make it look great, to make sure I liked it, and to show a lot of customer service. I selected a super fun gold color and sparkly gold and it came out great. She really went above and beyond. So much so that after tipping 20%, I found a few dollars more cash in the car and ran it in as an extra tip because she deserved it. First time, I didn't get a bottom coat for my gel nails and they started peeling after a week or so. I went in hoping they had gel powder and unfortunately they did not. She was nice and said she could do acrylic for me and file it down similar to gel powder... But unfortunately it was not the best job. One reason why get my nails done is because I flip through office papers all day so my hands are very dry. Before leaving they never put any cuticle oil or removed access dead/dry skin around my nails and there were random spots of nail polish on my actual fingers.
