My winter feet practically look like talons by spring despite my best self-care efforts during the cold Minnesota winter months. I've been very busy lately though, and today I realized that sandal season just crept up on me! So I was over the moon to find a place that accepts walk-ins and is open until 7pm on a Saturday while I was in the Richfield and Edina area visiting friends. Kim's Nails gave my feet some excellent and much needed attention today, and now I have my fabulous looking, glam summer feet on and I'm totally sandal ready!!! The shop is in a great location and has a relaxed vibe, but it's cute and very clean too. Also, everyone I talked to was so nice, and they really paid attention to the little details that make a pedicure great and long-lasting (like painting the front tips of my big toes and doing meticulous work around the cuticles)! So I highly recommend you give this place a try. I definitely plan to be back again soon, and my feet and I are already looking forward to it! read more

Our plans for the Children's Museum was a busy and to make it up to my girls, I took them out for a spa day too her their nails and toes done. We called VT Nails but they were not available until 4pm and then read a few reviews for Blossom Nails and so wet don't their but they were booked and walk-in was not an option so we searched again and found Kim's Nails and Spa that was three minutes away. We got to Kim's and it was not busy but I love the spacious interior of the salon because it was will ventilated and doesn't have a strong acetone smell like most smaller salons. Pricing was decent for a kid's Mani and Pedi package with nail art $60. An adult regular Pedi is $30 and spa pedicure is $40 with nail art is additional $5. The quality of the nails were good except that one of my youngest daughter's nails peeled off after one day. Both my girls enjoyed their experience and liked their nails. I wouldn't recommend at all, they use MMA products which are illegal and very harmful to your nails. I wasn't aware of that until my next nail tech was shocked at the state of my nails, she quickly realized it was MMA product. She was in such a hurry that she was filing my nails with her heard turned 90 degrees and slapped on a base coat and 2 coats of color back to back to back. Threw me under a dryer for about 2 minutes and slapped on a top coat. I sat u see the dryer for another 20 minutes and then left. I wish I could give them a zero review. Went in for a pedicure the women doing the service didn't speak any English. She did know what I was asking when she started grating a callus with a large grater and in the process, cut my skin. I asked her to stop and she made it seem as though it was my fault because the callus was hard for her to bring down. I was bleeding and kept saying stop!! Then she headed for my other foot as I was bleeding. I forcefully asked her to STOP. Kim came over, put a salve on it then a bandaid. I went to sit in another chair and they handed me a bill. This is what happens when you visit a venue without checking Yelp reviews. I swear everything that was mentioned in past reviews either happened to me or happened to someone in the salon while I was there. I went in on a time crunch but that was my problem, and not Kim's Nail Salon. Because of this, I decided to get the gel pedicure since it dries fastest. When I found out the price for gel was $45 versus the regular of $25,I quickly changed my mind. While sitting in the chair for my $25 luxury pedicure, the pedicurist started the up sell. I politely told her that her prices are the highest that I have seen in the area and I wasn't going to pay that. She then gave me the rational that my pedicure was already at $30 so I might as well pay the extra for the gel. I told her that I especially wasn't paying for the extra since she didn't tell me there was a &5 charge to remove gel polish. I told her she didn't do anything that I couldn't have done and she should have gave me the option by telling me that since that was no where on any sign in the shop. She chuckled but I guess she realized that I was right. So she offered to give me a gel pedicure for $35. At this point, I was ready to leave this place to never return so I accepted the offer. After all, gel polish dries 10x faster than the regular polish. The client ahead of me stated that she was never returning to this place; I am still unsure All that took place with her but I know she left almost in tears. read more

I've been here five times and every visit have been much better than other nail salons. Yes they do ask you if you would like to upgrade but who cares just say no! They only ask you once and then say it's good for you but nothing else. Luxury pedicures are the best here. For $35 I get a long pedicure with tons of massages. Sea salt scrub with mask then dipping my feet in hot wax..hot towels are involved and oil. My feet are always soft. So yes I will pay the extra $10 for luxury pedi. Gel manicure here always last long. Some places my gel nails will chip after a week but here..they don't start chipping after a month. Staff is always friendly. read more

The first time I tried this salon, they did a fine job, and my nails looked fine, however I do not appreciate being asked FIVE times during the service if I would like to upgrade to gel nails. I would not recommend this place. It's not very clean, and the staff is rude. The gentlemen doing my gel manicure told me to soak my nails, and then went outside and smoked a cigarette. As you can imagine, when he came back I had the pleasure of smelling his smoke cloud the rest of my time there. I visited Kim's with a friend from out of state, her mom, and her cousin who lives nearby, and I had never been to this salon before. We made appointments for 1:00, and waited until almost 1:20 to be seen. I got a gel French manicure, something that's pretty standard and every other salon I've ever been to has a pretty good hold of, and it's the worst manicure I've ever gotten period. The white tips are uneven and there are obvious lines where she missed but didn't remove the extra polish. My nails themselves are crooked and have jagged edges. I got my nails done on Friday and by Monday night the white tips on my nails were already discolored and yellowing. I only gave this two stars because my tech was friendly, even though she could use a lot more practice. Her skills aren't up to par with other salons I visit. My friend also has her gel full set done by Kim and her nails look like someone who was practicing, not getting paid to do a full set. The gel polish is uneven, her nails are jagged and uneven, and Kim didn't trim her cuticles or lotion her hands. I'd suggest going somewhere else where you could get a better experience for less money. read more

I went to Kim's as I had a coupon from the back of my Cub receipt. (Which I actually lost before I made it in the door...) But no big deal. A manicure is only $15 - $12.99 with coupon for you bargain shoppers. I walked in right before 5 pm on a Thursday and was almost immediately seated. Sure, they tried to upsell me to gel - that's what sales people do, but I firmly said no thank you and they rolled with it. My technician was FAST and good at her job. Things I highly appreciate. Sure, they were all speaking to each other in their native language, but my technician actually told me - without my asking - they were talking about a funeral and their traditions. I felt like the salon was inclusive, but no-nonsense, and I appreciate that. I think the best part was I requested to paint a couple of my nails with a different polish color and there was no increase to the price. Some places I've been to are inclined to add a couple bucks for such a request... After my nails dried, I hit up the Turnstyle next door and found a Banana Republic blazer for $20. Tried to have a girls day & it was completely RUINED. They were not sanitary at all given the covid procedures they have posted on the door. As I was waiting to get my nails done the nail tech then left, touched another customers foot & came back to finish my nails with NO GLOVES there for spreading germs from customer to customer. They didn't use fresh tools, they didn't clean off the dust from the filing. I also noticed a bit of favoritism, other customers came in (seem to be regulars) they were treated way differently. They didn't take their temp as they did us, I also noticed they didn't pay when they walked out. This was my FIRST experience & this is what I get. Let alone I was OVER charger & instead of trying to fix it she kept asking to charge a different card when she already charged it! I am now negative in my acc & they also added extra fees they don't mention in their menu! I also had to fix my own nails because she refused, she was rushing the entire time. I wish I could give them 0 stars. First off, my temperature was checked at the door for covid procedures. No one that came in after me had their temperature checked. Which was listed as a covid procedure requirement all over their salon. The procedure list also stated they could only allow appointments, no walk ins. Yet they allowed about 6 walk ins while i was there. Kim spent maybe 10 minutes on my pedicure which was $60. She didn't scrub my feet even when i paid extra for a foot scrub. She did not use new tools which is normal procedure. She did not wash her hands between servicing other people. Then she rushed through my nails and finished a full gel set in about 15 minutes. She did not ask me if I liked the shape. She didn't even let me wash my hands after filing them. So my nails were covered in dust from the file machine, and she painted gel polish right over it. She filed my skin and cut me underneath my nail. She put the polish on so thick that my nails bubbled and we're misshapen. They were not filed straight whatsoever and looked worse than what I could do myself. After politely asking her to fix things, she ignored me and continued rushing through my service. They did not act like they knew how to do nails whatsoever. They did not apologize or take accountability. I ended up taking the gel polish and file and fixing them myself while she watched me since she didn't understand at all what was wrong. They should at least change their prices to $10 a service. read more

First, I had an appointment and was 10mins early. Kim was 20mins late (I understand timing is never perfect), and if they knew the salon was that far behind they should not have taken my appointment. Second, as a gay man, I felt all the staff and clients wanted me out as fast as they could get me. When I walked in, pretty much everyone had to pick their jaws up off the floor. My gel nails are not even, the paint job is messy, and they didn't do any cuticle work. Also Kim did not speak to me until it was time to pay.
