I got the gel overlay which I learned gets pretty hot. Without saying anything she saw my reactions and adjusted to make sure I was more comfortable (which is a great indication of customer care). I showed her some inspo pics and she definitely chose the best elements of each. She walked me through the process and was meticulous with the art. Price wise I thought it'd be more expensive but it was comparable to other nail salons I've been to (paid about $115). Overall I'm very happy with the service and will be back in 3 weeks! read more

Overall it was an okay experience but they were a little rough on my cuticles so one of my toes did sting a bit and one of my fingers actually bled. Very uncomfortable experience! The techs talk in their foreign language and stare like they have never seen a black woman before. Literally, for the whole 2 hours in the shop, I had eyes on me. I couldn't breathe, blink, or mind my business in peace! They crowded around the tech Tom, speaking their language as he did my nails. It's unprofessional, rude, and annoying! The tech that did my pedicure made the experience worse. He was clueless about how to apply french on toes. The scrub, massage, and clay mask were horrible. This nail salon is terrible! They rush and use a machine to get rid of your cuticles, which damages your nails. My manicure started chipping the next day and by day 3 I had to take it completely off. They also charged me $75 for a regular manicure and pedicure which is completely ridiculous. It operates like a factory and not very friendly. Disappointed. Asked for dip French mani and reg. Pedi which I've gotten there before. Told tech I was concerned about fungus I developed from my last visit to their salon on two fingers. Asked how she could fix it. Told me to soak in vinegar, she couldn't fix?!? She insisted I must have bumped my fingers and it was a bruise. Really? After the concern I voiced ... her whole attitude went downhill and she started speaking her native language sitting next to the girl that had done my nails that the fungus came from. So rude! Then she refused to do dip I originally asked for up front after my nails were stripped and told me I HAD to do a gel. Again...REALLY! They charge astronomical prices and highly lean on you to tip in cash. Just all around...a less than relaxing and pleasurable experience. I wanted to book local pedicures for four people within two days at a convenient location. France Nails & Spa answered their phone! We arrived 15 minutes early and offered to come back, but they were ready for us. I appreciated that they have a very clear price list. I pointed at the services we wanted and they did not try to upsell us. The technicians were not chatty, which is fine by me. I did upgrade to the paraffin foot dip which felt nice. The calf massage was intense, like ouch. At check out I was able to use a credit card for the tip, which is great. Some nail places are still weird about cash. I thought it was odd that the three choices for tip were 20%, 25%, and 30%, but I guess Edina? I've been to two other local salons recently that still had lower automatic options. Its two weeks later and my toes still look great. So, yep, I'd go back for basic nails. read more

I think I found my new go to shop! this is the best manicure I have had in years! It was so nicely done. I like a basic, neutral, well done manicure. The shape and length were filed well and I believe he complimented the shape of my hands and fingers - which I also find important but also find that to be hard to explain. Completely overpriced!! I'm new to the area, didn't know where to go and obviously didn't look on yelp. I got a basic gel manicure with chrome powder...came out to $70?? $20 extra for the powder that takes less than 10 seconds to rub on? The nail tech was talking on her phone most of the manicure(which i like to be left alone anyway but still rude), caught an attitude when I asked her to fix my thumb polish because it was clearly messed up and was rude when I told her that I didn't want lotion. Also, most places ask you to wash your hands or at least wipe your hands down with a warm towel then ask about the lotion/massage and rub oil on your cuticles when they're done. I find it weird that they are over charging people and not even giving their customers the basics. I lived in San Francisco for two years and never paid over $50 for a basic gel manicure. Update: 4 days later and the same nail that I asked the nail tech to fix is now peeling!! I hate wasting my money on low quality services especially in this economy. I'm so irritated. I had a pretty disappointing experience this past week. I scheduled an appointment for both my fiancée & I to get manicures and pedicures the day before our wedding. When we arrived, we were promptly seated for the pedicures. The interior is pretty & it was also fairly busy so I figured I made a great choice. The two women doing our nails did not say a single word to either of us other than when spoken to directly. My fiancée asked what the lemon they were using on her toes was for and they both shrugged and couldn't even manage to muster up some sort of reasoning. They did ask what shape I wanted my finger nails but didn't ask if I wanted them trimmed (I did). Both of our nails turned out decent however when it came time to pay we had a bit of sticker shock. $200 with tip for both. Yikes. Our wedding was the next day so I hardly lifted a finger throughout the entire day however by the end of the night, both thumb nails had big chips in them. I've had gel nails before and they ALWAYS last at least two weeks with no chipping. I only end up removing them when my nails grow out & even then, it's always a hassle. The polish practically slid off my fingers :-( Huge bummer, especially for the price we paid. I won't be returning and hope you'll re-consider booking with them if you're on the fence. read more

Originally I was getting glitter french and it was $140, when I changed it to white with no additions it was the same price.. The base price for acrylics is $75- how is length and french tip combined $70? The french tip is uneven and I asked for square and for coffin. Got a pedicure here after scheduling an appointment. They were 15 mins late on a Friday afternoon. Okay, fine, it's a weekend. I sit down and ask for the "natural pedicure" listed for $45 and lasts 40 mins. 20 mins in and barely a small callous removed, of which I don't have many, and the salon associate says "I'm done."
