OMG what an AMAZING experience!! I had an appointment, and I was seen almost as soon as I got there. The place is small and could maybe be a little tidier, but they are very efficient, and I noticed that they cleaned up after other clients very quickly. I got the Royal pedicure, and it was Royal indeed!! The water was warm and Kelly did a great job on my feet. All of the treatments that come with the Royal pedicure felt very good. My legs and feet are nice and smooth now!! Kelly also waxed my eyebrows, and I was super happy with that as well. The high rating on Yelp is well-deserved, and when I come back to Yuma, I will definitely go back to Star Nails! Can I give them no stars? I dont understand how this place has 4 stars. First off, they have poor hygiene practices! The place is gross. The towels are stained. They dont properly wash their hands between. The fan that they used to dry my nails was caked in dust it was disgusting. They nail clippers and everything they use to cut cuticles were used and tossed back in the same basket to be used on the next person without a clean or autoclave or disinfectant or anything. Just plain disgusting. I have had better experiences in third world countries with cleanliness. And add insult to injury they quality of work was not there, nail polish chipped the next day. Dont waste ur time or money if you can avoid it. I hope I dont get any infection from this place and their poor cleaning practices. Oh and no ventilation so ur smelling fumes from the other chemicals the whole time. read more

I'm sure they would of if I asked but I had an appointment at 6:30p.m. And was his last customer. That being said he was most likely drained. Since my nails were just ugly I asked for a nail set instead to cover the catastrophic mess. I got a full set which costed me like $50 and their cheap rhinestones fell off an hour after I left. Very upset with the quality of a fill I got. I am beyond shocked that the owner, who did my nails himself let me walk out of the shop with the way they looked. As a salon professional myself I would never dream of letting a client, friend, or enemy walk out of my salon with that reflection of my work. I left with ravaged cuticles, uneven and thick nails, an unnatural square shape, and a paint job that did not even cover my entire nail. I would assume with the color red it would be more work to go back and clean up so he made sure that he did not touch anywhere close to my cuticle. it looks like my nails are already grown out. I also had acrylic all over my fingers at the end which is definitely not normal! I can't believe I paid for this set, it is beyond disappointing. read more

Better prices and friendlier service than at Liz's Nail Salon in Yuma Palms. I'm particularly picky with how my nails are done, but Tom was very accommodating and patient with my OCD. I even messed up my nail when I put it in the UV thingy because I have all of the gracefulness of a 3 year old child, but he just laughed and fixed it. I got a basic gel manicure (French tip) and it was $30. I set an appointment prior to coming in but it wasn't necessary since it was a Monday morning. I would come here again. read more

I was visiting a friend in Yuma on Friday Oct 23, 2020. I wanted a pedi and mani. It is the worst I have ever had! The young man who was doing my pedi didn't even scrub callus's. My feet are still rough as is I never even went it for a pedi. All he did was cut and polish my toes, then he cut my finger nails way to short and disappeared.. Then another man started on my fingernails and I had to stop him from starting right in on the polish, because they had not been filed or shaped at all. He finished the polish and I did not like the way the french polish looked. Within 24 hours the polish on my nails is chipping off. I have never had gel that came off like that. I can go a month with no chips or peeling - but this one is horrible!!!! read more

I went in for my appointment at 2:30 and was sitting at the pedi chair for 30+ minutes. It was 3:30 when someone finally started working on me yet he kept getting up and doing other things, I didn't get to relax like I had wanted to. He messed up my acrylics and made them too thick. I came here yesterday for the first time the lady had a attitude problem. I may not speak the language but I do have eyes and she did not look like she wanted to be there. I'm not one to complain but the water was way too hot, the actual pedicure wasn't done properly it was really half assed. The massage was way to rough I have 6 huge bruises on my shin today. It hurts every time I take a step and my nail Polish is already chippy. I regret going to this establishment and sure as hell will not be returning. He took his time which made his work precise and excellent. Then I got a pedicure and idk it was nothing special at all. But it wasn't bad so that's why I'm not leaving a bad review.
