I debated about writing a review for two months. I finally decided I should to save others time and money. I'll begin by saying I do admire the owner, Marci, and her success story. She shared it with me when I had her fix my first set of extensions. She seems like a great person and savvy business woman. I noticed my lashes were sparse so I tried falsies for a while before deciding to try lash extensions. I Googled and used Facebook to decide where to go. Chic Lash had mostly great reviews and two friends recommended them on Facebook. I arrived for my first appointment with no idea what I was doing. I expected to see examples, pictures to give me an idea of what I wanted. I was told they didn't have any because everyone has a different eye shape and lashes are different, so they don't want to disappoint clients with a different result. I didn't get that. I mean, we all have different shaped heads and hair texture, but you walk into a salon, you look at pictures for ideas. They assigned me a Lash Tech and off I went. Not knowing what to expect, I did a Classic (natural look) set. They looked decent after I was done. But then when I actually did my full makeup, my lashes looked like I forgot to apply mascara on full made up eyes. I paid $150 + tip, I was not happy. I messaged the salon on Messenger and was scheduled with Marci to fix them. When I met with Marci, she listened to me and delivered a better look. No charge for the fix either. Professionally handled all around by Marci. I scheduled my next fill with Marci but was notified a few days before that she wasn't available. They rescheduled me with my original Lash Tech. I wanted to be nice and give her another shot. I mean, they obviously believed in her ability rescheduling a previously disappointed client with the person who disappointed. I went in, paid $75 + tip, came out thinking they were decent, but not as nice as Marci had done. I went back a couple more times. The second to the last time, I just realized I was not happy. This time, my Lash Tech told me I had poor retention and my next appointment would be a 90 minute appointment for $90.00!! And, at this last appointment, they shared with me their "discount" program. Laughable and only stupid people would buy into this. For $89 a month, save 20% on services and products. For $69 a month, 15% savings and for $49 a month, 10% savings. I calculated this based on what I was doing already. Initial set at $150 with fills every two weeks at $75, comes out to $1,950.00 annually. Pay $89 per month to get 20% savings, equals $1,068.00 a year for "savings" on just services. This equals a $390.00 savings on services of $1,950.00, so paying $1,068.00 reduces my services cost to $1,560.00. BUT...add the cost to save 20%, my yearly service is now $2,628.00!! Ridiculous. This doesn't include the 20% tip added each time you have a service done. So, after this, I went home and started calling other salons, asking a lot of questions. I was surprised. Looking back, I should have called around rather than go with the reviews and recommendations alone. I was going on a trip right after my next scheduled appointment so I rescheduled with Marci. But as it got closer, I realized I wasn't happy with their services. The thought of their "discount" program alarmed me. It didn't feel right. So I called and canceled. I was charged 1/2 of my service fee because I canceled without proper notice. I messaged Marci once more about this entire experience, expressing my disappointment and sharing that I was charged for late cancellation. What struck me about her response is she mentioned the Lash Tech I was assigned was inexperienced, only a year under her belt. If I had wanted better work, a "Master Artist" would have been assigned and at "Master Artist" pricing. No one ever gave me the option to choose. I don't mind paying for good service, to get what I expect. And to top it off, no refund on the late cancellation fee, not even as a gesture of good faith. So...I literally wasted about $500 at this place. I went elsewhere. They had pics, they showed me different lash samples. My lashes now look and feel great! Bottom line, ask a lot of questions and lower your expectations if you choose to ho here. Ask for Marci or someone at her level if you want good work. And stay clear of the "discount" program. read more

Initial Impression: Located in a small plaza, easy to find, plenty of parking. Interior is really cute, country chic decor. Nice little coffee station, friendly owners. Very attentive Pros: Marci is amazingly fast. I think it took her about 10min to do my full Brazilian. On the scale of 1-10 rating the pain... it was a 4... & it went quick. She is a true professional. Free wifi is a plus Cons: none at all Overall Experience: I was super excited to get my Brazilian on & boy was the appt easy to make. I wenton Groupon to find a coupon that made my Brazilian $22. Yes that's AMAZING!! So I came, I experienced the fastest wax ever & I am 100% completely satisfied. Let me start this review by saying the only reason they aren't receiving a 1 star review is because I was not physically harmed or put in any sort of danger during my appointment. That being said...I found Chic Lash through yelp in hopes of finding a local business to support rather than driving to San Diego to get lash extensions for my wedding. The yelp reviews all seemed legitimate and high. I called the shop and spoke with the receptionist, explaining it was my first time getting lash extensions and that I wanted to get them for my wedding. The receptionist was nice and asked me some basic questions explaining different styles and asked me if I wanted full glam or natural. I asked for her recommendation and explained I wanted to look like I was wearing falsies but not so dramatic that I couldn't go without makeup without strange looks. She and I agreed glam would be the best and I set my appointment; I was excited! I showed up at my set appointment time-9am. around 9:15 my "stylist" walked in hacking up a lung and the receptionist goes "any better?" To which the stylist said"not really, I had a fever last night..I really think it's just allergies" I know what you're thinking and yes I totally should have walked out at this point. But I am a wimp and again wanted to give this place a shot considering the great reviews and it's a local small business! My stylist gets herself settled, comes to grab me and introduces herself. Tells me where to lay my stuff down and what chair to lay down in. Those are LITERALLY the last words she spoke to me. She did not ask me what I wanted. Did not explain any of the process to me. Didn't ask or tell me anything! She just started right in. Sniffling the whole time over my face. About 20 minutes in more staff arrived and they all started chatting. No problem with shop talk right? Wrong. One of the girls (keep in mind my eyes are closed at this point) starts talking about a guy she was dating but he ghosted her to which ahe explains how he "just wanted to f***, and she didn't care if they didn't talk anymore because his d**** wasn't that impressive anyways." Then the conversation turns to how odd their convos are in front of customers, so funny right?! Then they refer to how they had an older lady in the shop a week ago and were talking about porn in front of her and they were all so surprised she wasn't offended. At this point I'm laying there thinking I'm in the twilight zone like wtf??? HOW IS THIS HAPPENING?? After two hours my stylist hands me a mirror and says "when is your wedding?" I explained it was in two weeks and she goes "oh...then you probably wanted a more glam look, ok well Just come back in two weeks and we'll add volume and lift" it's at this time I look at myself in the mirror and am just baffled. It literally looked like I just had mascara on. Had the receptionist not made notes? Shouldn't my stylist have talked with me prior to starting??? Very long story short and $180 later I left in a hurry so furious and plainly disgusted at the experience I had just had. Luckily I found a much more professional and reliable esthetician. I called to cancel my Follow up with chic. They complied with no hesitation. Then they called me back an hour later to say "oh sorry, I forgot when you called but we have your yeti here. You left it when you were here last and we were just gonna give it to you when you came in for your follow up." It had been over a week. WHAT??!! Why would they not have called me that day or the following day to tell me I had left a personal belonging. In what universe does a business just wait for you to come in to collect your belongings? What if I had already replaced it?? I had left in such a hurry it was clearly my fault for Leaving it behind but seriously chic lash?? Even longer story short. DO NOT GO HERE!!! The staff is crazy mind blowingly unprofessional and if heaven forbid you leave anything behind they won't call you to let you know. I will never ever visit this business again or let any of my girlfriends or loved ones even consider giving them their business. read more
