I had heard a lot of good comments from friends about their facials with Shelley, so I figured it was my turn to have the same experience! When I arrived for my appointment, there was nobody at the desk and was not immediately greeted. I glanced into the salon area and saw an employee but she only glanced at me and continued with what she was doing. The front desk gentleman entered through the front door a moment later. He greeted me politely and had me complete a short questionnaire and then Shelley whisked me away to the spa facial room. The room was inviting and calming. Shelley said she would also be providing a foot and hand massage during the session. This was an added surprise as I had only expected to receive a facial! She instructed me to remove, at a minimum, my shirt, bra, watch and had I been wearing them, earrings, while she stepped outside. She asked me to get onto the massage bed after I disrobed and she would return momentarily. I did as directed and climbed under the sheets and became very comfortable on the heated bed. There was a pillow placed at knee level and I felt real cozy. As I lay there, listening to the soothing music, I was comfortable and relaxed when Shelley entered the room. Shelley informed me she would first have a look at my skin under a bright light and magnifier so she would have a better idea which of the services would be best for my skin. (I have a 10X mini magnifier mirror that's really dangerous for anyone to be looking at themselves in and all I could think of was....Oh my gosh she's really going to be grossed out! haha She wasn't! ) After examining my skin she explained 3 different facials she could perform (Fluid Facial $75, Collagen Facial $85, or Microdermabrasion $95). She recommended the collagen treatment. I won't go through every little thing that went on during that hour, but I can tell you it was all so wonderfully relaxing! The facial, the foot massage and the hand massage were all the highlight of my day. My skin feels very clean and I feel absolutely fantastic! I need to treat myself to this way more often! If you have been wanting to get yourself a facial, I highly recommend calling and making your appointment with Shelley. She's a real sweetie and definitely made me feel special and comfortable in my own skin! I'll be back next month.

The students do an excellent job in paying attention to details required to doing your hair, or other services being obtained, under the direct supervision of a certified instructor too. In the event that you or the student is not clear on anything they are polite and will require a supervisor's assistance for proper guidance in providing you with the best care possible. You are never left alone for any student to practice without knowing what they are doing. Because this is a school the prices found here at the Yuma School of Beauty are very reasonable. Most of the time, their busiest season is during the winter season; when Yuma has many winter visitors coming to avoid the freezing temperatures from the northern parts of the world. It is always recommended that you call them in advance to schedule yourself an appointment so they can accommodate you adequately. There has been a few times where I've simply done a walk-in and have been told that I couldn't get services because they were so busy with grad students, prom students, and or other big events taking place in Yuma that they get booked for. So again, give them a telephone call and schedule an appointment for services. I usually get my hair cuts done at this place and I've had my experiences from both freshmen and senior students practicing their skills on me. I never been disappointed with a hair cut that did not come out well. But again, if it were to happen, it's okay, I will live and I know that the student was trying their best. If you are one of those folks that seeks perfection or will flip if a 16th of an inch went missing from your bangs, or something like that, go elsewhere. No student, supervisor, or client in there wants to feel your negative vibe in there. Oh, and don't be cheap either. Although not required, a little tip for the students services is always greatly appreciated! By the way, there is ample parking either on the street in front of the school or the school does have a decent sized parking lot on its west side of the building that you can park for free.
