Just purchased a 2012 Mazda2 - great condition and low miles - from Star Mazda. My experience with Kyle Groom was excellent! He was very personable and responsive - just made the car-buying process so simple and (dare I say) enjoyable. Star Mazda was actually my second choice because I found a comparable car, slightly lower price, at a more local dealership, but after spending time with Kyle and his demonstration of QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE, I went with Star. From the internet inquiry, through the delivery of the vehicle, 5 stars all the way. What really sold me on going with Star was the following (about Kyle): - Timely response to the initial inquiry - Immediate note of thanks after my first visit - Swift action to ensure my satisfaction with the vehicle - Personal delivery of the vehicle to my home Kyle was definitely the reason I bought my daughter's car from Star Mazda. A true gem! read more

I just purchased my Mazda and I have to say that I was completely blown away by the service I received from start to finish and beyond. I worked with Kyle Groom and from the very first phone call to the dealership I was in excellent hands. We were able to complete the entire transaction very quickly and even when I needed to bring my car back for some items that were owed through the deal, there was Kyle. He came to my work and picked up the car, even brought me a loaner car for the day and then when it was finished again he delivered my car back to me at my office. I have to say, I thought service like this was totally lost in today's society. I'm very happy to announce that it lives on at Star Mazda in Kyle Groom!!!! read more

Five stars for Edita! We're new to buying cars in California and went to many other car dealerships but they all had really crappy service, one even overcharged us 10,000$ more!! In Star Mazda, there was none of that! Edita was so warm, friendly, funny, and ready to help us with any questions we had! We've never had better service anywhere else! She has accommodated us and our inquiries on a Mazda CX-5 and she was very honest about anything you inquire about, like she helped us find a really affordable insurance company for our new car! She really went out of her way to help us have a super smooth transaction of the car. She helped us get our new car in no time at all! No weird contracts that you don't understand, only full honesty and awesomeness when you have Edita help you out. read more

I just had the great car buying experience at Star Mazda. I bought a 2016 Mazda 3. They went extra miles to get me the car I wanted. I test drove yesterday and picked up the car today. Mr. John Smith helped me and he was so helpful. He was even on his cell phone texting back and force with me to get the insurance situated. I also met people from the service department, and now I feel good about them taking care of my car. I highly recommend Star Mazda. read more

Kyle & the Star Mazda team was helpful, professional, and easy to work with. Would recommend.

Since we just had a baby, it was time to trade in my mid-life crisis Miata for something more responsible. I decided on the CX-5 and got in touch with Star Mazda. I worked with Kyle who was excellent from start to finish. He answered all my questions and never once tried to push any options or services. After we agreed on the deal, he set me with up Ryan who walked me through all the required paperwork. Again, he answered all my questions and explained everything as he went. I think that all in all, the entire process took about two and a half hours. I'm super happy with my experience there and actually love the new CX-5 though I'll miss that little roadster. read more

Star Mazda would get 6 stars if I could go that high. After sketchy experiences buying a car in the past Gavin and Kyle made buying my car completely painless! Gavin called and made sure the car would be ready when I got there. Kyle called to make sure I was bringing everything I needed since I was coming such a long way. The showroom was comfortable and another thing that struck me was that even the service techs were smiling and friendly. I can't stress enough how nice everyone was and how easy it was to purchase a vehicle from Star Mazda. It changed my thinking on car purchases. I bought an MX-5 RF and I love it so much. So happy it was a great experience all around! read more

This dealership was great through the entire process of looking to walking out the door with my new keys. No pressure atmosphere and they took the time to work with me and explain anything I didn't understand. Edita was my salesperson and she was incredible! She was very helpful, responsive, has a great sense of humor and conducted the process without the pressure I usually expect from dealers. Highly recommended. read more

Although I did not end up purchasing a car from Star Mazda, as a new car shopper Greg Moss was the first salesman I spoke to and he was friendly, took me on a test drive, and was willing to negotiate prices with me. He was not pushy and even followed up with me later to let me know the car I looked at had been sold. He offered to help me find another and although of course this is for their own profit, I found my experience at Star Mazda to be very pleasant thanks to Greg. Do your due diligence before going here to negotiate a fair price and ask for Greg because he is willing to work with you. read more

This has been one of the best dealerships I've been to. I purchased my car from here last weekend and the customer service was on point. I contacted Greg for a couple days beforehand before I arrived via text and email. Israel and Greg helped me out with a positive attitude and answered my many questions with honest opinions. They're extremely patient and offered me with tips and everything I needed to know, even past their closing hours. I recommend coming here for your car needs. read more

After having a frustrating experience at different Mazda dealership, Abiel and the team at Star Mazda turned my experience around and went above and beyond to make my leasing experience a great one. I called Abiel and in one day, he was able to get the exact car I wanted, work within my budget, and go above and beyond to get me driving home in my new car. Abiel quoted me a price on the phone, and that was the price that I signed on my lease that afternoon. He even followed me to my old dealership so I could return my old car, and stuck around to show me a few tricks on the CX3 before driving back to the dealership (easily adding an extra hour to his day, if not more). I would highly recommend this dealership. Everyone is extremely friendly and professional. And Abiel was exceptional from beginning to end. read more

My wife and I picked up a couple of CX-5s last week with John Maisyan. We were in a rush due to a scheduled meeting and he had us out in a couple of hours. He was fun, informative, and accommodating. I had another great experience working with Star Mazda. Jerry Chinchilla at the service desk is the man. He was very professional, polite, and accommodating. He really worked with me. I called him up the day before to see if I can get my 2014 mazda in for a diagnostic and an oil changes. Jerry also helped coordinate a Lyft ride for me so I can get to work. Came in just to compare vehicles, left with a car, thanks mostly to our sales guy Ron who worked patiently with us from start to finish. Ended up with a beautiful 3 year old vehicle that looks brand new! Ron took the time to make us comfortable and help us find a good fit. We did half a dozen test drives before ending up in car different but better for us (and cheaper!) than what we had come in for. Don from financing and everyone at Star Mazda took their time to answer our questions and make us comfortable with the process. It took a while but everything was smooth. I look forward to being a long term customer here. read more

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a car from Star Mazda. I had no intentions of getting one at the time as I still had a few months left on my lease. The main reason that I moved forward is because of the man who would eventually sell me my car, James Smith. This is a man of character, integrity, appropriate perseverance, and a wonderfully wicked sense of humor. I am in sales and I instantly repel from a pushy approach. He has a lightness and sincerity that I haven't before experienced in this industry. We drove a number of different models, including both pre-owned and new. What I experienced with James was knowledge and a goal to eventually get me into a sensible vehicle for my particular needs. I had done a lot of research on the current Mazda line-up. I requested more facts, both financial and technical than perhaps any other client thus far in his short career as an agent. The entire process took more than a few days and his patience never waned. An integral part of the team was Rodney Colley. I asked, he answered...many, many times over. After he saw the frustration on my face after many days of work on all of our parts, I walked into his office and he simply said..."What is it that you really want?" In brief, he found the exact vehicle I wanted, including my first request of color and style. Another man of note is Willy Rivera. His title of Sales Manager is well deserved through expertise, courtesy, and follow-through. This is an old-fashioned dealership that cares. ZOOM ZOOM, Craig K. Burbank, California read more

So nice. So prompt. So incredibly helpful with the financing process. I would recommend Kyle at Star Mazda to anyone. SO PROFESSIONAL! There is a reputation that goes along with used car dealers. Kyle (and all the other staff I encountered) could not be any more opposite than that commonly held stereotype. He was polished, kind, and radiated a genuine desire to help rather than push a sale. I contacted the dealership through the CarGurus website... and was called within 30 minutes. I came in the next AM and was out the door with my gorgeous new Acura MDX within two hours. AND my credit was less than awesome so I was super pleased that they were able to get it financed with no additional paperwork!!! I do have to report that there were a few nicks and dings on the exterior that were not visible that day due to the high gloss wax... and the little AC vents don't move quite right. But these are things that one expects when buying a used car. Overall I am super pleased. Thanks Kyle and thanks Star Mazda. read more

By far the best car buying experience. John was helpful, communicative and patient. I was buying a used car and their prices and services are competitive. CROOKED SALESMAN! They play the "good salesman, bad salesman role" We called prior to arriving to get a quote for a Mazda 3 hatchback since we live near the beach and it will be a long commute. The salesman, gave us the quote over the phone but when we arrive, the supervisor made an error and priced it for the sedan. I don't understand where the miscommunication was because according to them, there was only 3 HB left and only 1 in the color that we wanted. So with all the correction, we are required to pay $400 additional to our original quote. However it didn't stop there. Apparently the manager comes out to tell us that his salesman and supervisor are full of s*** and give us the CORRECT quote which is an additional $1100. So in total, we are looking at $1500 above the price that they quoted us over the phone. The level of professionalism was very poor. And for the manager to quickly throw his coworkers under the bus just shows the amount of or lack of cohesion they have. I am a 7 year marine veteran who recently returned from another tour and it's really upsetting that I will risk my life to defend this country that hosts a bunch of crooked dealers who have no clue about ethics. They have the nerve to question if I ever made a mistake in my profession and honestly, Yes, I have, as a PFC or LCPL and maybe CPL...but I owned up to my mistakes rather than pass it off to someone else like these fools with "over a decade of experience" under their belt. BE WATCHFUL OF THESE SALESMAN, THEY WILL USE ANY TACTIC TO GET YOUR MONEY. JUST KNOW THAT YOU HAVE THE POWER BECAUSE YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE MONEY. DON'T LET THESE ASS***** WALK OVER YOU. Oh and BTW, we are a proud owner of a Mazda 3 from another dealer for the price that they promised us. We only considered this dealer because it was just a few hundred bucks cheaper. But apparently, these clowns had something up their sleeves. Just be patient and keep shopping. read more

@&$!?#!!! Drove all the way here from San Jose for a car advertised as in pristine condition to find that they knowingly repainted the front bumper to conceal god-knows-what. The damn paint job didn't match! Waste of time and money on gas and hotel. Unethical business. read more

I wasn't going to write a review about the horrible experience I had at Star Mazda but after being drug back into this situation again I feel I must. I'm so angry right now I can't see straight. I bought my 2016 Mazda 6 at Galpin in Van Nuys and I live in Koreatown. heading to Van Nuys for service wasn't very convenient so I thought I would try Star Mazda in Glendale. Much closer and convenient for me. My first couple services went fine, and some time in April I brought it in for warped brake rotors and the leather peeling on the driver seat cushion. I was told by Peter my service advisor that the seat part would need to be ordered, and warped brake rotors were not covered by mazda after 12k miles, my car had 13k miles. I was visibly upset that my 6 month old car needed brake work that I had to pay for. Peter told me that the dealer might take care of it as a courtesy. Roughly a month later I received a call from Peter saying the part for my seat was in, and the dealer would take care of my warped rotors. I brought the car in at 7am on May 20th to have the work done. After waiting a couple hours the dealer sent me home in a rental car. About an hour later I got a call from Roy Wells, the service manager saying there was an incident involving my car. It had rolled out of the wash machine and there was some damage on the rear of my car. I immediately drove to the dealer to inspect the damage which I have pictured in the review. Little did I know there was 5k dollars in damage! Roy was very polite and apologetic for the incident. I was furious that they had just wrecked the first new car I have bought since 1998! My BRAND NEW CAR! Anyway Roy Sent me home in the rental, and promised me they would fix the car. After a month and a half I finally got my car back. When I went to pick the car up, I found a door ding and scratch on the passenger side that the dealer had done while being careless with my car. They were able fix this with a buffer and some polish on the spot. I immediately found another scratch on the fender that required the fender to be repainted from someone being careless with a tool or something! My car went back to the body shop for another 2 weeks and I was back into the rental. After the scratch was repaired I picked up my car, and immediately realized they never fixed the brakes! After telling me they had taken care of everything! I was once again so mad. I have never been let down by a dealer in so many ways. At this point I didn't want them touching my car again, so I took it back to Galpin for the brakes and the service advisor at Galpin told me that Mazda covers warped rotors until the 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty is up, completely different from what Pete at Star told me! Galpin serviced my car and repaired the brakes, finishing the job Star was supposed to do. I have been taking my car to Galpin ever since. I wasn't going to write a review because I hate reliving this, and in the end Star took care of the damage. Now I am getting calls from Enterprise Rent A Car in Glendale saying that Star Mazda has not paid for the rental and I AM GOING TO BE BILLED FOR IT ON MY CREDIT CARD! it was a 900 dollar bill! This is ridiculous! You figure they would double check EVERYTHING related to my case considering the horrendous situation. Nope. They didn't. So now I have to go back to the dealer to baby sit them to make sure they pay for the rental so I do not get charged almost 1k dollars for something that was not only a huge inconvenience, but an absolute nightmare to deal with. Why can't these guys get their shit together? read more

STAY AWAY FROM STAR MAZDA!! BLATANTLY UNETHICAL, SERVICE DEPT. TAMPERS WITH YOUR CAR TO PRODUCE MECHANICAL FAILURE. When I took my 2003 Tribute to Star Mazda for a minor recall repair, they disconnected and broke my transmission cable, causing my steering wheel to be unable to engage in any gears. Thank goodness I had just parked or I could have been severely injured or killed. They made me extremely suspicious when, after they completed the recall job, "warned" me that my new tires were going to cause very dangerous transmission problems (??!!). The AAA certified mechanic who has been very ethical and competent assured me that this was ridiculous. They also lied about my suspension, steering, and struts needing to replaced; I had this completely replaced five months previous to my visit to Star Mazda. If I could give them negative stars, I would. read more

Certainly not competent! I took my Mx-5 in with issues on actuation of the power retractible hardtop. I specifically stated that the problem was likely to be mechanical / alignment. They came back with $3 K of repairs, including replacing 2 motors. I went home and did some web surfing. The problem was one loose bolt. In explaining this to the technician it became clear he didn't even try to actuate the roof and look for a mechanical problem. Go here if you are prepared to tell them which bolt to tighten - and which direction to turn it! They also recommended a $160 power steering service that the owners manual says is unnecessary. read more
