I didn't even bother with their special sauce; it was innecessary, imo; the sweetness wasn't a good ting-to-yang thang. And the bread is so so sooo good: Made fresh in-house daily, soft and pliable, a great carrier mechanism. My only suggestion would be to make the sandwiches more compact. Mine basically all fell apart as soon as I attempted to unwrap some of the white sandwich paper. Lost a little bit of my hyped anticipation. All in all, I'd definitely get a cheesesteak from Philgeddaboutit again next time I'm at Hey Hey.

At 5:45 pm on a Saturday evening, our arrival at the Star Cafe was marked by an empty lobby. After having passed by the establishment numerous times with the intention of trying its cuisine and service, I was glad we finally did. The exterior's welcoming ambiance was matched by a complimentary parking lot, and the interior's cleanliness and maintenance were equally impressive. A quesadilla was requested by a toddler in our group, who enjoyed it immensely, while their mother also had a taste. The absence of a child's menu quesadilla was mitigated by the generous portion size and substantial filling at a reasonable price. The Philly cheesesteak boasted flavorful steak, peppers, and provolone cheese on a moderately sized bun. The Fire in the Hole burger was a highlight, featuring ghost pepper cheese and jalapenos on a toasted brioche bun, served with crunchy fries. With an array of options and breakfast service during specific hours, the establishment has something for everyone. I finally stopped by this spot after hearing so many good things, and now I totally see why it's rated so high! I ordered the gyro, and it was seriously fresh, packed with flavor, and just the right amount of seasoning. The fries were hot, crispy, and not greasy at all--just how I like them. I also grabbed a coffee, and wow--it was surprisingly good. Smooth, hot, and hit the spot perfectly. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and well-kept, which always makes a big difference. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which added to the whole experience. They got my order out quickly and everything was correct--no issues at all. There's also a big parking lot, which made things easy, and they've got a drive-thru too if you're in a rush. The restaurant boasts a clean environment, however, the staff failed to provide any recommendations or insights about the menu. Additionally, being located in Merion Village gives off a rather old-fashioned atmosphere. The concept of the restaurant seems to have originated from a combination of a café and Starbucks, but unfortunately, the breakfast options were mediocre. On a positive note, the salad offered a unique and distinct taste. Despite sharing a picture below, I personally do not foresee myself returning to this establishment. read more

My total was $21 with tip, no drink. Not the best bang for the buck IMO. There are authentic options in Columbus with the same portions, grilled and bone in, for slightly less money. I've never left a crumb at those places. So I give this one a solid 3 stars.
