Picked up last month mid May and brought to eat at the Drive in at Riverside theatre. Ordered the crawfish and chicken wings. Crawfish is frozen but they won't tell you unless you ask... BS move there in their behalf when phone ordering. Kickin Crab and Boiling Crab will at least warn so. There's a sign posted when paying at the register of the frozen crawfish. Don't let the crawfish size fool you. Size isn't everything. Flavor was okay but when suck the head of the crawfish, no bursting juice or flavor squirts out. It's just dry AF. The chicken wings were salty as well. My kids couldn't finish it. Would I come back? Maybe, but I sure won't go out of my way like I did this past visit for my craving. I'll try all other spots before I decide to return. read more

I had been wanting to go here for a long time. I'll start with my few concerns... Innately we noticed the smell. Yes it's a seafood place but it doesn't need to smell like one. Secondly, the walls, does everyone really need to write all over them like a men's restroom? Third, the service, that's the kitchen not the waiter (who was amazing) was reeeeealy slow. Lastly, I get what they were going for on the bags of food but dumping it on the table or outing it in a bucket would be a lot easier. All in all its a fun place. Great food, great service. The seasoning and spice mix is unique and identifiable amongst all the other restaurants that have a similar style. The staff is also friendly and they always take the time to answer all my questions. I appreciate how much the workers try to accommodate for my orders. I work in food service as well and it can be difficult to fulfill every customer's request when they are not line with restaurant's policies. That being said, I can't wait to dine-in again! read more

First time coming here a few weeks ago and the food was amazing! We spent $89 on the family bucket and left with so many left overs. Considering the portions and everything that was in it was definitely worth every penny. Everything was cooked all the way through and the flavors were more than what I could ask for. The service was friendly but wasn't handled in a timely manner. We sat down, waited 20 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. It was a Friday night so I figured maybe they were a little busier than usual. We received our food 20-25 minutes after drinks. Once we received our food no one came to check on us. We had to walk to the front counter and or flag waiters down to ask for refills, napkins, limes and to go trays all on four separate times. i personally love going here but unfortunately my previous experience will probably be my last. I dined in at the location 2 nights ago and i had mistakenly left my engagement rings on the table. not only my engagement but also a pass down from my grandmother who has passed away. I called and reported that my rings had been left and they informed that they would keep an eye out. i then called again and they told me they didn't have the rings and would look at the cameras, i then go into the restaurant to speak to the manager and the front desk repeatedly asked me my reasoning for speaking to them when i legally don't need to provide a reason to speak to management. coming from someone who works in a restaurant myself, this was very unprofessional and they then go and bring my server and she tells me "like i said we don't have the rings" still not providing me any kind of management. guess i will need to speak to corporate. unwilling to look at cameras to watch if anything had happened then bringing out my server instead of management kinda makes me seem someone knows something? i could have at least checked trash or something but they gave me nothing to go off of. read more

The hostess working on Wednesday, June 15th (today) was EXTREMELY RUDE. I had my tea with me, and as she was seating us, she told me that they don't allow outside drinks, which is fine; I understand that--health codes and all. I told her I'd put it to the side, and she straight up told me, "No. I need you to pour it out." I was a bit preoccupied on my phone, and I responded, "Can you just give me a minute? I'm in the middle of something." And she stood there, staring at me, and said again, "No, I need you to do it right now. I would have told you earlier, but I didn't see you had it." What kind of f--ing service is this? Please, tell me what kind of service is this. This woman is rude AF and should never be anywhere near a customer service industry. You get that in a bag of what appears to be a marinade or sauce of some sort. You can always request the level of spice for your marinade. My number one favorite place for shrimp. Whenever I want some delicious, well cooked seafood; this is the first place that always comes to mind. I always have a positive experience when eating here. Their food is so good and well seasoned. I love their cajun fries and garlic bread as well. My only complaint is that their parking lot needs to be expanded. It is always so packed and I'm always worried that my car will get crashed into. Beside that, I would rate this place 10 stars if I could. read more

I came in and stood there for a good 5 minutes before I realize I had to get the attention of the hostess and ask for a seat; though she did smile at me as I walked in. I wish i had better things to say. I ordered their crawfish, shrimp, sausage, and fried wings. Crawfish and shrimp were overcooked and their sausage lacked flavor. However, their wings were crispy yet tender. I'd come back just for their wings. The prices were fair so I couldn't argue. Parking may be a challenge so carpool. After moving to Riverside it had been months since I got my shrimp fix on. Of course I turned to none other than Yelp to help me out. Star Crab had the shinning stars so we stopped in for a try. The parking lot is shared with many other shops in a strip mall but they have parking in the back as well so we were lucky to find a spot. The wait was not long at all but when we were leaving there were people swarming. Prob close to an hour. I say go early like at 4 to miss all that. The place is clean (except the menus) and the service was friendly. We ordered our regular, shrimp with everything, corn, potatoes, side of rice, Cajun fried and side of garlic bread. The items were a tad bit over priced. The bread was two bucks and they gave us two little pieces one was the little butt of the bread. Not worth two bucks that's for sure. Oh well. The food got to us pretty fast and smelled great. The rice was a little hard and not my fav. The shrimp was cooked pretty good and had good taste. The fries were crunchy and yummy. Overall the food was good. I will be back but my search for my Cajun fix is not over. Riverside I'm out there! read more

You guys have won me over! We went in at 4pm and there weren't too many people. Everyone was so friendly! We picked a large booth and were greeted by Kevin. Kevin was so helpful and went above and beyond. We weren't sure what spice level to get, he recommended the medium which has a nice spice to it. He also brought us the chili oil they use to spice up their sauce, as well as samples of the spicy sauce to try for ourselves. The medium is prefect and doesn't overwhelm. We ordered the first family bucket. It comes with shrimp, an order or potatoes(3)corn (2) and sausage approx 5 pieces, then you pick two other fish/shellfish options. We got 2 lbs of shrimp and 1lb of Clams. Also ordered fries, and rice. Great portions! The Clams were amazing, big and fresh! The shrimp were sweet and perfectly cooked. The corn wasnt soggy and the potatoes trap the heat and spice yum! This place is delicious, lots of garlic, lots of sauce. There was a lot of food, enough to take home and enjoy later. Kevin and I discussed the many cajun seafood places I've tried in So cal, Nor Cal and Oregon. I love 2 places up north that are awesome including the boiling crab in San Jose. My favorite down in So Cal is Claws, unfortunately they burned down and there only other location is in El cerrito..no thanks I got tired of driving to GG to begin with. So I tried Rockstar shrimp, fail! Way too salty, we had very little shrimp and left unsatisfied. Thank you Star Crab, I've found my new place! read more

Order the Cajun Shrimp with the hottest spice level 911 for takeout. Was told my order would be ready for pick up in 20 mins, got there and it wasnt ready yet so they took down my number and said they would call when ready. Ended up waiting in the parking lot for the call for an additional 40 mins before i went in to ask a second time about my order which was just sitting. Be sure to call to confirm your order is ready or else you'll be waiting. Other than that the food was really good although the 911 heat level was insane. I never had anything so spicy and i personally feel like im someone who can handle a lot of heat. The 911 was a mistake. I also order the gumbo with no seafood and that was very delicious. This was my first time eating a dish like this and it did not disappoint!! Ill be coming back for sure, hopefully i wont have to wait so long on my order though!! read more

We were told after waiting for our table that our 2 & 6 year old would need need to go to the waiting area to eat their burrito because no outside food is allowed. WOW really. These are young children that are not going to eat seafood. So basically we were forced to leave because our children are not going to eat that food and we were not allowed to bring in something for our kids to eat from outside. Terrible. We won't be back. I usually come here every now and then. Today was just a terrible experience. Our server was no where to be found to check up on us during our time eating to check for refills. The food was good and all until I got home a couple hours after eating and just felt completely sick from the oysters I ate. We have eaten here well over 50 times since they opened. Only had a problem once and the management took care of it promptly. My husband LOVES crab boils and this is spot on. Seasoning is great wether you like mild or to hurt they have it all. Try the wing as an appetizer, they are addicting. read more

Horrible place. Front door greeting guy, tall skinny guy was extremely rude!! We walk into this restaurant, he saw us but totally ignoring us and chatting and laughing with another waitress. Like 2 minutes later, they were still chatting, and I said, "excuse me", and he finally replied, " we have no space available, you can just wait" WHAT?! at least he should tell us how long is the waiting time? Ask us to put our name on the waitlist? No! Nothing! I have to ask him myself, and he does not even want to answer, it was the other waitress answered us! Never ever eat at this restaurant.
