Two stars and let me tell you why.... Took my SIL to glen ivy for her birthday, we were staying at the hotel nearby. STAYCAYTION! (nieces and dealing with my brother lol) She loves seafood and my brother does not. She found something walking distance and there were good reviews. BUT - service was subpar to say the least. 1st - did you know it was all you can eat? We didn't. We asked our server AND someone who looked like the manager. Why did they both ask to see our menus so they can explain it? Anyways, we didn't get that menu. So there was no menu to show them. Plus, the manager walked away and never came back. And how come when we were ordering and asking the server which deal was better based on what we ordered...NOT knowing there was AYCE. She said what we did was better. I can tell you that it was not. 2nd - seems like everyone around us was getting help either by getting refills, etc. Not us. It was not that busy AT ALL. I would've maybe felt different if NO ONE was getting helped but, that was not the case. So much so that I didn't even want to caption my photos and I almost ALWAYS caption them because the people came for the photos and to know what was good or not. And the food wasn't that great so we will NOT be coming back. Just that experience itself put a bad taste in my mouth. ALSO - forgot to add. I can't often go since my wife was is allergic to most seafood, She can do lobster so we packed up the mother in law and enjoyed some boil The Vibe: Is like most crab boil places, lots of nets, wood, colorful vibes with a "you are on a fishing boat " kick. There is plenty of seating, great for fun date nights or family outings. I liked that they had an area specifically to wash your hands. The Service: Tye was our server and we were very grateful for him. We could tell he was a bit overwhelmed since there were not too many servers and there were a few times he took a minute to get to us but in all honesty he was doing his best and doubled down to make sure we were good towards the end. The food: It all comes down to the spices you add to your boil and I got the mix with everything with a good mild spice. I like spice so I could have went up and thankfully Tye brought us some of the spicy blend and that kicked it up a notch. My favorite way to eat it is.... I don't usually get potatoes.. I get the shrimp, corn, and then a side of Cajun fries, I peel all my shrimp and throw it back in the sauce, then when its all ready to go , I dump my fries in , mix it around , then go to TOWN. We also enjoyed the raw muscles and they were delicious!!. The only downside is my wife got the lobster fries with very little lobster, I honestly think it was the fries to topping ratio that was off. She liked them but in a few bites all she had left were fries and for the price it was a little bit of a let down. We came back to celebrate my birthday, took our kids here this time, and we were seated almost right away! yay! Our waiter was friendly and promptly helped with our orders and drinks. He repeated our orders, and within 10 minutes, our orders were out. We had our 1 pound of peeled shrimp with all-in sauce, spicy; another pound of peeled shrimp; sausages; quail eggs with all-in sauce, not spicy; garlic noodles; and calamari and regular fries on the side. The sauces seemed off on the spicy one; it was really bland and not spicy at all! Thankfully, the other one in sauce tasted more flavorful (too bad we left it at the restaurant, lol, after I had asked for the lid to bring it home). The peeled shrimp was okay, it was cooked well, would have been better with the right spicy sauce. The garlic noodles were great, salty and garlicky. The calamari and the fries were also a family favourite; they came with 3 different dipping sauces. They had a hand-washing station; they offered us bibs and gloves but did not have any wet wipes during our visit. Thank goodness for those sinks and soaps! I've had a lot of seafood boils but this ranks at the top. Food was fresh, flavorful, delicious!! Service was top notch!! Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to take a picture before eating because everyone was so hungry--we finished everything within minutes! David, the manager, was extremely welcoming and helped us choose the perfect dishes. The restaurant was very clean, and the entire staff was friendly and attentive. The seafood tasted fresh, honestly, everything we ordered was fresh. We definitely over-ordered, but we happily took the leftovers home. Have you ever ordered popcorn chicken from a restaurant, bit into it, only to discover that it's 5% chicken, 95% batter? Not here, friends. You get juicy and flavorful chicken and it tastes even better after you squeeze lemon over it! Just grab the popcorn chicken so you can snack on it as you wait for your seafood boil. Parking can be a bit limited directly in front of the restaurant since it's shared with other businesses, but if you don't mind a short walk, there's additional parking available in the nearby mall lot. Our server was very friendly and attentive and took good care of us. They offer a variety of seafood options sold by the pound including different types of crab, shrimp, mussels, and lobster tail. I ordered their one pound of shrimp, half a pound of sausage, corn, and potatoes, along with a side of their garlic noodles. As For the sauce, I chose the Crab N Spice flavor. (I had to research myself as looks are deceiving the glass looks small) Portions & Pricing: Seafood broil was priced fairly but could've used more food. Fries were $9 for a small portion. We ordered a large plate with lobster, shrimp, potatoes, corn and crawfish in a lemon garlic sauce. It was bursting with flavor and it was fresh. The waiter Jose did say that it served 4-6 people which made me wonder why it only came with 4 baby potatoes and 2 small 3 inch corns. I read some of the reviews here and look like some people got lucky with great service and got tasty food. This place is really overpriced compared to Kickin Crab, Boiling Crab, Pier 88 and Shrimp Factory. This is my second time coming here. I came here to give them another chance because last time me and my friend did the all you can eat and still didn't taste as good as other competitors. We tried different sauces. I always prefer the house or a blend of everything with medium spicy. If you like bland food then I guess this is the spot to eat. Food 1/5 So I bought 1lb of shrimp, sausage and a clam chowder breadbowl. Next time I'm going to bring in something to weigh the shrimp just because I'm bored. There is no way that is a pound because everywhere else we go, the pound of shrimp there are more in the bag. Paying $50 for this is INSANE They also charge you for gloves lol. The taste was yet again bland. We did medium spice and a mix of everything. Still . The sauce is weak in my opinion. I didn't take a picture of the clam chowder breadbowl but it was also disappointing. It was boring and had no flavor. I choose BJs clam chowder over this and that should say alot. Service 1/5 Last time I came I got really good service. This weekend I had the worst service. I had to go up to the front register like 2-3 different times to ask for forks, bibs and gloves. There was 6 of us and charged with an 18% service charge. This left a bad taste in my mouth. Imagine paying an extra $8 for no quality service... Atmosphere 4/5 The only thing great about this spot is the atmosphere.
