I never thought that I would say this about a store, but it was truly dreary and dismal. It looks like a location waiting for the lease to run so they can shut up shop. I went in to pick up an order that I placed online. There were two employees at the register area. When the person at the one register was done, I anticipated that I would be called next. Wrong! The employee started to play with print cartridges that were being recycled. Fortunately, the other staff member asked "Mr. Recycle" if he was going to help me. Although he responded that he would, it still took time for him to finish his beloved cartridge and actually help. read more

I walked in to do a return. Look for the Happy Returns sign, which there is no sign anywhere on where to go, except Amazon returns, so I head there. After waiting a while, someone finally came, but 6 more people came behind me now. He informed me Happy Returns are other side of the store go there and he will help me when he's finished with this line! So I head over there to wait and do not see a sign or anything of where to wait. I finally just left because this was not a way to treat me when I was first in line for returns. Hands down one of the best experiences! The manager Amy helped us as soon as we walked through the door. She greeted us warmly and right away assisted us with a printer, extra ink, that would be shipped directly to our home, a pc that we are on the way to pick up at a nearby store (we needed it ASAP and Amy called a nearby Staples to see if they had it in stock) and the necessary software and anti-virus software - she informed us of the discount you receive when you purchase a PC! Walked in expecting nothing but bare minimum service since Staples stores aren't really the spot for high energy and I was very wrong ! Immediately greeted by an employee when I walked in. I had a print to pick up and the girl River who left me a voicemail earlier in the day to let me know my order was ready asked for my name for the pick up and when I said my name she immediately knew she contacted me earlier and was very kind and attentive. What a sad state of affairs this Staples is in. I went in for an Amazon fire stick and noticed that the shelf where they had them set up at had several boxes there indicating that the store had more than enough fire sticks. I picked up a box and went to the line and waited in line and when I got up to the counter they said they had to get one from the back. I again waited a while until they came back on the radio and said unfortunately they're all out. The gentleman at the cash register said the same thing, unfortunately we're out. REALLY!!!??? I had to ask them why they would have so many boxes up on the shelf if they had nothing to sell no product available. This question just confused the sales person at the register somehow as he had no good explanitionfor this stores sales set up with empty boxes waiting for you to take one to the register for the product... This store needs to rethink how they stock the shelfs and how they sell a product when they no longer have the items. read more

It is no wonder that Staples is having a hard time staying open with stores like the one located in Yorba Linda. I ordered a rapid print job of 9 packets and then totally forgot to add the 2nd set of papers to that order. So I submitted 2 orders, both within minutes of each other and the 2nd order was a mere 10 pages. Both were black and white - QUICK print jobs. I submitted these yesterday morning with plenty of time to get these printed and do a good job for a loyal customer. Instead, I got a phone call from their print manager telling me that they rapid print job was complete but the other one, because I didn't mark it as "rush" was going to be ready in the evening.....10 PAGES BLACK & WHITE (a $2 job). So I called her back and asked that they both be completed at 5p, as these were for a non-profit meeting at 5:30p....a little non-profit called Girl Scouts by the way. She proceeded to lecture me on why I needed to mark BOTH of my jobs as "rush" 3x on the call but that they would go ahead and get them printed. Great! I was fine with that, though no need to lecture customers right? Anyway, I show up at 5:15p to pick up my items. There was a gal behind the counter, razor sharp claws, thick eyebrows (you'd know her if you saw her). She never acknowledged my standing there waiting until about 7 minutes later and then she came over with ONE of my orders. The 2nd order, that as a customer I was lectured for, was not even printed. AND, none of the printers were in use by the way, took clear note to that. She then came over and wanted me to pay a $5 fee for "rushing" my 10 page black & white 2nd order that they had not even printed. Above that - it's not $5 for a rush job on that low of a page count. My first order wasn't even $5 for a priority job. I asked for the store manager - he came over and proceeded to instantly argue with me, loud and proud. I asked for a refund and left as I had my 5 year old daughter with me and she did not need to be involved in the manager maniac show of anger. There are so many better places to get your projects done. This Staples is not it. Go elsewhere. When a store yells at their customer and fights over $5...you know they're in trouble. read more

I needed to print an attachment from my email at their copy center today and I was dumbfounded at how unhelpful their staff was. The attachment needed to be reduced to 50% but their self service copiers didn't have the option to do that. I was told that I needed to print out the full size and then make a copy of that printout. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard from a copy center. A copy of a copy would immediately compromise the quality of the print. Besides, I'd have to pay for multiple copies when I didn't need to. Anyways, I asked them if they could reduce the file on their end and print it out behind the counter since I didn't have the option to do that on my own. The manager said I would have to wait one hour for that one print, or I can pay an express fee. The manager and the one other staff person were sitting around twirling their thumbs, so why did I have to pay an express fee??? So that they could get out of their chairs?! the manager continued on with her ridiculousness by saying that there are other jobs ahead of me. That would be fine if that were true, but all of the machines behind the counter were sitting idle... and so was the manager and her staff member. There is no other explanation other than laziness. How ironic, since a store like Staples is supposed to help the consumer be more productive. This copy center needs some serious retraining, or a new staff team all together.k read more

I am amazed that people hire employees that treat customers really poorly and they are allowed to get away with it. Yesterday, I walked into this branch when the store opened at 8 am and a young man at the cashier was very rude to me. His manager was standing right next to him and did nothing. It was not until I stopped the bad treatment and asked to talk to a manager that the manager said: " Oh, yea, I was going to ask you if I could help you, because that was really rude". And they get paid to represent a brand??? Is it now the expectation that customers owe them something? This is my go to place for all my printing needs! BEST customer service!! Seriously! They never let me down! They are always organized, and get my orders in on time. If I wasn't 100% satisfied with my prints, they will redo for me for free. I have been coming to this staples location for like 8 years already and I will keep coming back! I have been to a lot of other Staples such as in Brea and Monterey Park where their customer service is so horrible!
