Not a good store. The print quality is TERRIBLE. They don't offer full bleed printing (unlike FedEx), the paper had streaks of color from printer glitch, and the PDF I printed that looked fine digitally showed up with weird boxes around all the images once printed. The staff seem to hate their jobs too. And the pricing is ridiculous for the quality. Nearly $1 per page for the lowest quality print available. read more

I recently discovered that Staples has a super affordable printing station -- a lifesaver compared to other places that charge way too much for a single print. If you download the Staples app, you can even score some great discounts. When ordering online, the site gives you limited print size options. But here's the hack: email your file to staples@printme.com and it'll stay in their system for 24 hours. Just show up, give them the code, and they can print it in any size you want with options like matte, glossy, or semi-glossy. Carrie at this location was so helpful and sweet -- really appreciated her customer service. They also have desktop computers you can rent by the hour if you need to work on something on the spot. The store itself is spacious with plenty of parking, but since it's on a busy street, turning in can be tricky -- so plan your arrival accordingly. read more

They have a good inventory but the customer service is a mess. I pre-authorized my card three times just for the printer to not work. When I asked a simple question about using an alternative method, I was spoken to in an extremely condescending way that made me feel very uncomfortable. I've worked in customer service so I don't understand why some employees forget that half their job is to be kind. Sometimes I would ship items here to the Amazon locker pick up for the convenience while running errands in the area. I have an injury and can't use the service anymore, so I was going to let it go to return only to see someone else picked it up yesterday. Wouldn't recommend as the lockers are in the very back. Everything else with this location is fine, just don't use their Amazon lockers, they aren't secure. read more

I had two retail packages shipped to this Staples while I was on vacation, thinking it would be a secure option. Wrong. They sent my packages back after just one day, with no notice. When I asked, I was told the manager can't manage the volume of packages and often sends them back the same or next day. If you can't handle being a UPS Access Point, don't offer the service. This is a complete failure in customer trust and reliability. The employee I spoke with was kind and helpful, but the manager's attitude and approach needs serious attention. I'll be reporting this to UPS and won't be using this location again. read more

Nice people work there, but as a company not very responsive to their image in the neighborhood. They allow homeless encampments to proliferate in the areas around it, ie- sidewalks, back alley, and parking. These encampments bring crime, garbage, and unsanitary conditions. As stated, not the best or most responsible neighbors...I find it hard it hard to support their business. read more

Good store with haunch of copiers to make copies (which is convenient now that Kinkos is kaput. Also, they have every office supply you could want. Enter through the Walgreens parking. ANDREA!!!! My hero for real, I screwed up a major project for my boss and she got me right in under 24hours. And might I also add that this was not the first time I needed her help with book binding. I work close to this staples and myself and my boss look forward to seeing Andrea behind the counter every time we're there. She gives excellent customer service and she also has great jokes. Energy is always high and every time I leave there I feel happier than when I got there. Go to another staples. When you're in a wheelchair and have looked for your labels but can't find and ask for help, the best they give you is " all the way down aisle 9". Nope. Those are tabs. So they get snotty new girl who says "follow me", really. I push my husband around boxes and employee ladders. We had been avoiding these since we started our shopping. We go back down to aisle 9. " oh, I guess these aren't labels". My husband said, we've been here before. She replied, don't yell at me. He said, I'm not telling. I'm confused why you brought me here. Do you know what file labels are we ask? Do you have a picture she replies? I'm new here. New to where? Has she never seen a label before? She has us "follower her" again across the store. Into computers. My husband said, are you sure. This is really uncomfortable to wheel over here. We go down the computer aisle and she was just as shocked as we were to Find Avery labels on aisle 3. My husband asked to speak to the manager after he made his purchase. Of course he has a business account with Staples and the cashier who is also knew could not find his number in the system. Or as she said, apparently you are not members. She was using the wrong area code. My husband said to the manager, your employees lack of product knowledge and placement and customer service is not all their fault. But it's due to lack of training. The manager said, yes they are new and I haven't had time to train them yet. The man in front of us turned and said, is that the issue. I've run out of words trying to explain what I need from her. Pointing to the cashier. I've bought this for years and now I'm told it never existed. The manager said, oh I can show you were it is. This man said, I've already bought it on Amazon. read more

I needed to print some last menu 4x6 cards and I ordered online. My cards were not formatted correctly and Keiry promptly called me to come in and check and if I wasn't satisfied they would re print. I made a mistake with the formatting and they were happy to reprint at no additional charge. The turnaround was very fast and I will be using them again especially in a pinch! read more

Best shopping experience in a LONG time....I went in to recycle my old printer that finally gave up after years of great printing. I was looking at new ones and within 2 minutes, a very friendly and helpful sales associate named Rene approached me. He listened to my needs and gave me excellent and prescriptive advice on which one would be best for me based on what I told him. He didn't pressure me and genuinely partnered with me in my quest for a new printer. I had been researching online, but his guidance helped me find a great printer that fits in my space, does what I need and eliminates my constant search for the correct printer cartridge. He even offered to carry it to my car for me in the pouring rain. I ended up buying the HP ENVY 6055e Wireless Color All-in-One Printer. I had it up and running within 15 minutes and it is perfect for my needs. This is why we still need brick and mortar shops that hire smart and engaging people like Rene. VENICE, CA -- A Hawthorne woman is suing Staples the Office Superstore, alleging she was forced to quit earlier this year because the Venice store where she worked was infested with rats, causing her nausea and headaches. Ashley Carlyle's Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit allegations include wrongful termination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation, disability discrimination and violations of the state Labor Code. Carlyle seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages in the suit brought Monday. A Staples representative could not be immediately reached. Carlyle was hired Oct. 26 as a retail associate at the store on Lincoln Boulevard and soon promoted to operations manager, overseeing office supplies, cashiering and truck loading, the suit states. Carlyle quickly began having red spots on her ankles and the week after she was hired, a customer told her a rat had run under the shopping carts, the suit states. The next day the plaintiff saw a rat scoot across two aisles and into a hole in the wall, but when she reported it her manager said in response, "It must have come from outside," the suit states. When Carlyle refused to clean up rat droppings in January because it was not part of her job, the store's general manager told her she should quit "if this isn't the job for her," according to the suit. When Carlyle protested that cleaning up rat feces could expose her to disease and that she had already been sick because of the rodents' presence, her manager told her, "Well, if you are allergic you need to let us know, but other than that, you need to help us out." Carlyle was demoted to price auditor, allegedly because of her complaints, and she went on leave on Jan. 11, the suit states. Eight days later, she notified her general manager that she would not return because of the alleged rat infestation, the suit states. A human resources representative confirmed Carlye's firing in a letter sent to her on Feb. 22, according to the suit. Rene at the venice location (Lincoln Blvd) could not have been more annoyed and rude when we tried to print business cards -at one point, I even asked, can you see how this would be difficult for someone who just walked in off the street trying to do this and he literally said with extreme disdain 'can you see that I have 10 other orders besides you waiting' ?? Wow-obviously I could not see this as a client. Clearly hates his job. Too bad. Next time we will order from Canva and leave it at that. read more

This is my second time visiting this Staples and again received excellent service yesterday! An associate named Josue kindly assisted me with getting a friends Celebration of Life Obituaries Completed. I came in for same day service and the store was extra swamped due to the Thanksgiving Week coming up on top of it been Friday. All of the associates one by one waited on and helped each patron waiting in the Print and Marketing area. Josue as well as helping me was helping several others. He was knowledgeable and helped me pick a paper stock that I am so pleased with :) He even printed a sample so I could see the difference and feel confident about my choice. Even though it was extremely busy he assured me he'd do his best to have it done in an hour and he did. Even when I couldn't come back as soon as I wanted to he let me know the order was completed and waiting for pick up. Thank you Josue for all your help and excellent customer service! I have no idea why some of the ratings are mine they are on Yelp for this location. I find the employees here even in other parts of the store to be hardworking and knowledgeable. They offer recycling & give a $5 credit to use in the store for each item, but when I brought the items that qualify into the store, they claimed each item must be brought in on a different day. Really? So, I'm supposed to come back each day to bring in one item at a time? The $5 won't even pay for the gas necessary to do that! The staff lacks knowledge, authority and customer relations.
