CRACK! I knew the moment I heard this horrible noise that I shattered the front screen of my iphone. Damnit! I had seen a few reviews of the LA iPhone repair before and remembered it again when Mark K suggested I would probably be able to replace the screen without getting a new phone. I called LA iPhone repair the next morning around 9am and was able to get same day appointment! Hector answered his phone despite his hours starting at 10am! And he was able to squeeze me in right away! I arrived to his place and there was plenty of parking in front. Inside, his waiting area/living room was very nice. There were magazines, books, and cable TV to keep you busy while you wait. He charged $120 to replace the screen, and I was out in less than thirty minutes. My iphone 4's home button was malfunctioning so bad, it kept activating voice control without me touching it and calling people I hadn't spoken to in years. It tried to do Facetime with my dentist, best friend's mom, and boss all in the same day. Yikes! I took it to the Apple Store, and since I don't have Apple Care, they told me the only option was to buy a new phone. Are you kidding me?? I downloaded things to fix it, I installed the new OS, I followed the instructions on YouTube videos, but nothing helped. I thought I could live with it for a while, but weeks passed and it drove me more and more crazy. This phone is possessed! So, I found LA IPhone Repair on Yelp and decided to go for it. The Apple store said my broken screen was not covered under my warranty, and I had to pay $200 for them to fix it...the same price I'd have to pay for a new phone! I've seen those sites which offer to send you a $25 part and a video to "do-it-yourself repair"! But my phone and time are too important to me. I don't want to tinker around and do it myself. I want expert help. I don't want to be my own guinea pig! Then a friend told me about this place in W. LA that fixed his phone, while he waited for about $80! I took my iPhone in and sure enough, while I waited, a new screen. I returned the next day with 2 broken iPhones that I bought for my kids. One had water damage. Both were fixed, while I waited. Easy going atmosphere. 90 day warranty. While your phone is serviced you can have a quick bite at the Mitsuwa Japanese market a block away which is a little gem of West LA. I'm not sure if I've written a review for anything - if I have, it has been a looong while. My experience with getting my iPad fixed was so great that I'm compelled to evangelize (not that Apple people ever do that...). 'The Incident' Sitting at home working at my desk late in the evening. Two computers out plus some papers, so no room for the charging iPad, which I placed on the floor. Half an hour later, my roommate comes home and, to be polite, I reposition to face him when catching up. Lift the chair off of the carpet to twist it...and sit down with one of the legs in the dead center of the iPad screen. Shattered glass. Smashed LCD screen. Broken heart. 'The Irony' Seeing the tears approaching, my roommate quickly says he "has a guy". What? "Yea, Hector. He fixed my shattered iPhone last week." Admittedly, the iPhone looked flawless. What do I have to lose? 'The Hardest Part' Waiting. I dropped off the iPad with Hector who said it was in bad shape but he could fix it. The 'office' is actually his apartment, which was very clean and comfortable. That was strange at first, but given the referral, I dropped of the iPad and left to wait a few days. 'The Reveal' Stopped by yesterday after work to pick up the iPad, on which I am incredibly dependent and to which I am heavily emotionally attached. The plastic was pealed off of the screen and, behold!, it looked stunning. Fired it up, everything worked great. Retina display was replaced with a new Retina display. It was clean. And it worked. Scrutinizing the work, there was extremely small indicators that the screen had been pried off but, truly, it looked fantastic. 'One more thing...' Not to raise expectations to an unreasonable level, but I initially emailed the address on the website at about 10pm on a Wednesday night. I got a response 12-15 min later. Totally indicative of the customer service touch. It's not a big company, it'd a dude who is really good at fixing [expensive and precision] things. read more

I smashed my iPhone4's front glass by accidentally dropping it down the stairs, oops! As the other reviewers stated, he was great with my iPhone4 repair, and accomodated my schedule. He was friendly, capable and professional. I literally watched tv and flipped through a magazine and it was done--all on my lunch break. It's honestly more like hanging out in your friend's chic living room rather than getting your ailing phone fixed. FYI, it's pricey, at $140, but I'm guessing that for most of the working population (like myself), that is more affordable than the $200+ that Apple will charge, plus tax! (Not to mention the fact that I would rather pay my enterprising fellow man who was clever enough to set up a cottage industry, rather than pay Steve Jobs and make him only marginally richer.) My iphone 4s screen had water damage. Clumsy me had spilled my cup of water and some of it had landed on the iphone. I refused to go to Verizon store cause I had not paid for insurance and I knew the warranty had expired. I made an appt online within 24 hours had my phone fixed by Hector. Hector is the best! My iPhone unfortunately made contact with the concrete of my driveway and was completely shattered. He took one look at it, had me fill out a form and then repaired it in 20-30 minutes. I just sat on the couch and watched the Food Network with my friend while my phone got fixed. Hector works out of his apartment which appears to be sketchy at first, but in reality it's not at all. He's completely professional and works quickly and effectively. I came with my guy friend just to be on the safer side but if my screen broke again, I'd be happy with going to Hector by myself because he was such a professional. This was so quick and convenient! Literally set up my yelp account just so I could write this review. I broke my iphone 5 screen a few days ago and after realizing my AT&T insurance was going to charge me 2X the amount Hector charged it was a pretty easy decision. I called him on a Saturday and I was able to come over immediately (May have gotten lucky there because I called first thing in the morning). He fixed my phone in about 15 minutes! It was awesome.
