I come to this staples all the time, I signed up for my membership here. I usually don't have a problem but damn. I went in today to get a hard drive, and I used the bathroom. I'm on my 10 minute break from work, so I'm using the restroom for 2 minutes. 2 minutes exactly. And the bald, little heavy associate (DIDNT see his name tag cuz he wasn't wearing one) was screaming "bro we got people waiting." So I rushed and opened the door to see one kid waiting. Probably one of the most disorganized stores Ive ever seen for a national company. Lots of attitude. The employees are not helpful at all. Im avoiding this store from now on and its within walking distance. This store seems to be geared to expense account people. They have almost a whole aisle devoted to pastel stationary items that seem to be from the 80s. It seems the kind of store that people that like bows around everything go to. read more

Thomas in the UPS section was the most unprofessional and rude person I have ever encountered. It was clear he hates his job and started to argue with me The manager came over and told me that she was coming to "break you up" He was condescending and arrogant with no reason to be!! I am planning to follow up with corporate!! I am from New York and have never dealt with such a miserable person!! He represents staples and that is very disturbing His behavior was aggressive an indicative of workplace violence, validated by the fact that the manager said she was coming to "break you up " She was just as unhappy and unprofessional as he was!!! read more

I printed both my sons birthday cards here and the employees were so helpful, especially Michael who expedited my order for me. I love my cards and having them ready in a couple hours, not waiting and paying for shipping, was amazing. My friend and coworker, Lauren, and I had to come here for one very specific reason: Rubber Bands. And I mean lots and lots of rubber bands. We were on a mission to retrieve 5 bags of #32 rubber bands, with roughly 50 or a 100 per bag - some large amount. We located our purchase quickly, but the real fun came when we had to check out. The very nice cashier looked at us, a somewhat youthful pair all in black (our uniforms), and then looked at the rubber bands. She gave us quite an interesting gaze. I wondered what could be going through her head. Could it be A) They are going to attempt to build the 3rd largest rubber band ball in the nation? (I hear the other two are located in the Midwest) Or could it be reason B) They are going to do something sexual with these long thin bands of rubber - perverts. We tried to reassure the cashier that we needed them for work, but I don't think she believed us. She just continued to smile and look at us with that quizzical stare. But she was friendly to us possible perverts nonetheless. There's convenient parking in the large lot they share with Jerry's Deli. For the fifth year in a row, I find myself at Staples on frickin Labor Day. Not Labor Day weekend, but actual Labor Day - the day that is supposed to be free of Labor. Do ever have one of those days where your brain just says, "Haha, not today!" The kind of day where you question your own intelligence due to your lack of brain to motor skills communication. The kind of day where something as simple as the ability to operate the self service fax machine without drooling on yourself or staring off into space seems impossible? No. Well, lucky you, but today was total brain fart day for Stephy and I seriously can't even get out of my own way. I had a simple mission, to send a fax, buy some envelopes, an adding machine and some adding machine tape. But I'll be damned if I was able to figure out any of these things on my own. And so I give this Staples 5 stars for helping me through the most basic tasks and waiting til I left the store to probably laugh and make fun of me. Hell, I would have :) It's a great Staples. I needed a few things done: color printing, some on card stock, some on coated card stock, some on adhesive backed stock, and some laminating. Yesai, the desk man in the duplicating, binding and services department was very helpful and professional. He ran the laminations through more than once to ensure that the edges sealed, as I had asked to have some heavy weight index stock laminated. I have never seen this level of commitment and customer service in any duplicating office!! Plus, they use Xerox color copiers and printers, and I must say the color rendition was very true and bright. read more

Called and asked them about their Erin Condren items and if they had a life planner in stock and the price. After a very long hold she comes on the line and tells me no there is none. I reminded her I was here a week ago and there was a ton but under the clearance table in a tote and on a shelf above everything. She said she checked and nothing. I kinda doubted that so drove 45mins over and TADA! They have 1 on the shelf in plain view and about a dozen on a shelf up high. Asked to speak to the manager and was directed to Claudia. She then said she was the one I spoke to and did not apologize but instead gave me excuses that someone else looked and told her there wasn't any. They don't know where anything is and I found what I was looking for by myself on top of the display isle not even out where you can buy it. I asked someone where the portable business card holders are they said isle 5 and 3. Left side. WRONG! It was on the right of 3 I grabbed one that was a soft leather case asked the same guy do you have any more like these that are hard case he said check isle 1 and 3 on the left side. No help at all. I went to this Staples Sunday 4/13. I am an actor and decided I wanted the freedom, control, and eventual cost savings of printing my own headshots. I walked over to the photo printers. I was helped by an associated named Peter. He was very knowledge and helpful. He eventually gave me enough info, and I decided on the printer I wanted! It was usually $200, and was on sale for $150! Peter was awesome! Really great! I then went to the photo paper looking for 8x10 (standard headshot size). They did not have it. I was kind of crushed. Then, I had an idea! I could just buy 8.5x11 photo paper, have them cut it in store, and then leave! I'd have all in needed in one stop! And I'd give the store about $200 of my money. However, there was a problem. I went to the copy/print center and asked them if they even could cut the photo paper. I was told it was simple, quick task that would only take two cuts and cost 4 dollars. HOWEVER, I was told they were too busy to perform the task and I'd have to come back the next day. I couldn't believe it! I wanted to purchase over 200 dollars at their store, and they wouldn't perform a task I was told would take seconds. The associate told me it was policy because they were working on other projects that came in first. So, in a way, I understand -there is a line. But, if my "project" takes seconds, and I want to give you money, can't there be an exception? It makes sense to me. Common Sense. Especially because they weren't actively DOING anything. I'm sure there were projects back there being printed....But they physically were just standing around. I thought she was just following orders. So, I found a manager. Surely she would see that my $200 and need for two seconds of time would be more important than "policy." Nope. Not at all. Her name was Marcella. She insisted it could not be done. So, I dropped (not literally) the $150 dollar printer and $40 worth of photo paper and went down the street to Office Depot. They price matched the on sale printer. I bought 8.5x11 photo paper, which they cut in seconds, and I bought a protection plan for the printer. They were helpful, kind, and got 210.27 of my money and my return business. I spent less than ten minutes in store. I think the STAPLES management needs to be told to help customers and value high sales. Use common sense. It was ridiculous. She could've even done it herself, because again, she wasn't physically DOING anything. Just standing. I would like to be contacted by management, someone in higher authority of Marcella if they read this. I also contacted Staples through their site. Very disappointing. Staples has always been my go-to store. I usually find other places out of stock, and disorganized. I work production for a movie studio. We spend hundreds of dollars weekly. No longer will I use Staples. read more

I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO MR. STAPLES DIRECTLY! Bad move on the Staples chick working the register. She stood there while people were in line and didn't bother to call the next customer. I didn't know that this level of low class service even existed in Staples but it does. I was so upset that that I told the cashier where I was standing. Her excuse was that the girl probably didn't think I was waiting in line. I told her that everyone holding merchandise standing directly behind the person getting checked is a customer standing in line-weak excuse to cover a weak employee. Folks, the moral of the story is that you need to yelp these weak moments in Staples history so the staff can wake the hell up and serve the customers that they depend on for their paychecks. read more

I give them TWO stars because 'sometimes' they aren't 'so bad...' BUT overall, my experience with this place, especially with copy/print center has been pretty bad. Right up the street, I found a 'gem' of a copy center though, COPY HUB. I HIGHLY recommend you SKIP STAPLES and GO TO COPY HUB right up the street! COPY HUB deserves an AWARD for OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE and QUALITY WORK! The owner, Ray, always has my order waiting for me right at the counter, he answers any question I ask with "of course" and just makes my experience super easy and quick. He really is a RARE FIND in Lost Angeles and something to be admired. I'm not even kidding! Small Businesses out there should take lessons from this guy! This is by far the very best small business experience I've had since I've been in L.A. I called this store to get some info about their easy tech services. I spoke to Fidel who sounded like he knew what he was doing. So I decide to take my laptop in and get a new battery and have their $29.99 check up done. I get to the store and go to the easy tech counter and ask for Fidel. The guy at the counter gives a blank stare and tells me Fidel is not there and he doesn't know where he is. In the meantime Fidel walks up to the counter. I tell him in looking for a battery for my laptop. He removed the battery and goes to the back to search for a replacement online. He can't find one so he asks Nick what to do. Nick tells him to and a request to the warehouse and that I should get a quote the next day. A week goes by and I haven't heard back so I call the store 3 times explaining to whoever answers that I am waiting to hear back from Fidel. I finally learn from Hector that Fidel couldn't find the battery. Fidel dropped the ball and didn't have the balls to call me back. I won't be taking my PC there for sure. Beware of Fidel! read more

It wasn't until later I found out that I would need to enter my order through their online form, in order to pay for it with my credit card. Someone from my company will be picking it up and therefore cannot use my card. I contacted someone from this location in the copy and print center, who was completely rude and belittling. I am surprised the business manager for this location tolerates such behavior. read more

When I went to pick it up, it took them about 20 minutes to find the order. I could have gone next door to Carney's, gotten a hot dog, eaten the hot dog, and come back before they found my order. February 19, 2015, I go to this store, my normal go-to store for office supplies. I pick up a good amount of stuff and head for the registers. There are several registers, but only one of them is manned. I go up and put my stuff on the counter. The man behind the counter says, "I'm not open." I look around and see that there's still no one at any of the other registers. I say, "Nobody else is, either." The man says, "I know." Then he walks away. His name tag reads "Gary." I've been to this Staples 5 or 6 times since I moved to Sherman Oaks 2 months ago. So far, so good; no rude employees, and no hassles on 2 returns. Helpful employees, plenty of parking (which is rare for Ventura Blvd), clean store, and even the security guard is friendly. Overall, zero complaints. update: The last 2 visits I received unbelievable attitude by 2 different employees that could not be bothered with me asking for help with 2 different products. I was like...really? They both ended up helping me, but their distaste in having to do so was ridiculously evident. The store was not busy on each of the visits, and I wasn't pulling either of them from any major project that I saw. I've been in the customer service field for 25+ years, so I understand when customers can be difficult, demanding, or time consuming. I was none of the above as I'm generally a pretty easy going guy, but I must have caught these 2 on bad days on back to back visits. I'm not posting their names because if they're like that all the time, then their supervisors are most likely already aware of it. Blah blah blah , I think I am going to spend hours trying to find the right paper to match and playing with the machine settings , I decided to ask for help. That's where Michael walk up to me from behind the copy counter ... I start asking a couple questions, he jumps in and ask me what do I really want.... For the reviewer that complained about ink cartridges not in stock - ALL printer companies do this. Planned obsolescence has been with us for years, STARTING with HP. My trick is to order the ink online, have it shipped to the store for pick up. No prob. Then, go at YOUR convenience to pick it up. No problems with Studio City in the retrieval of orders. North Hollywood up on Sherman Way, not so much. This is a better store with employees in a better mood. read more

This review is to commend one of their employees: Brook Hilton. We went to look for an office chair for the house and he was more than happy to assist us, answer our questions and deliver excellent service. I was concerned about assembling the chair and thankfully, Brook mentioned that they offer the service of assembling it for a small fee, which I was glad to pay. A few days later, the chair was ready. This is an employee that is indeed an asset to this company, so I hope management reads this and also allows more time to leave them feedback through their survey link as it had expired when I tried to do it. read more

I had visited the Staples on Sherman Way before work on Tuesday morning and had such a terrible experience. I even took a photo of the employee that made it so and was going to post a negative review but, then I visited the Studio City store at lunch time and my faith in humanity was restored. I was assisted by the sweet, friendly Sarah who not only helped me in the most pleasant and efficient manner, she apologized for the negative experience I had at the other store! ! Where the lack of assistance at the other store me late for work in the morning, Sarahs professionalism and timely service gave me enough time to enjoy 15 more minutes of my lunchtime. Just went in, made copies, and left. Four stars because one of the copier machine is broken and there's no "out of order sign". Not a big deal, but if they don't like to tell customers what is going on or don't like to routinely check their machines I can sorta infer that they don't do this for everything else in the store. This is the first time I've ever written a Yelp review. That's how bad this place is. It's so bad it made me care enough to actually do something. They charged me MORE THAN FIVE TIMES THE PRICE quoted online to just print some black and white documents. When I asked manager why it said online it cost $0.02 per page when I was charged $0.11 per page, he said he'd never heard of it being $0.02 per page. Luckily, I still had the site in my phone's internet history, so I showed him on the Staples website where it said that. Then he changed his story and said they actually gave me a DISCOUNT because they did the printing for me. The reason they did that was because the self-service printer kept breaking and after about thirty minutes a worker did the printing with his printer. You know, because the self-service printer LITERALLY DID NOT WORK. Also, the associates were nice, but the manager was still working through some issues. He was incredibly rude and kept trying to place the blame on me. Look, I work in retail. I get it. Customers can be terrible. I was making an effort to be as kind and amenable as possible and he was STILL being super defensive and condescending, saying "You signed a form that said 'I Agree.' That means you agree. Do you understand that?" When, actually, I signed no such form because SELF-SERVICE WASN'T WORKING. Unbelievable. Anyway, for a similarly pleasant experience to this store I'd recommend flushing all your jewelry down the toilet, setting your life savings on fire, or wearing a meat-sweater and walking into a coyote den. read more
