Staples in Middletown is one of those places I may only need occasionally, but I'm always glad it's here when I do. It's convenient, clean and easy to get in and out of. I've also enjoyed using the rewards program for returning ink cartridges over the years. Lately I've been stopping in more often for Amazon returns. While it's not usually my preferred return method, the process has been quick and easy thanks to the helpful staff. Everyone has been friendly and the location is super convenient. I had a very sick iPhone, and thank goodness for Staples for fixing it just like brand new! I've had my phone since August of 2015 (can you even believe it?) and the battery was understandably failing. I saw that Staples fixes phones for reasonable prices, and brought mine in. James in the tech department helped me out, and now my phone's battery is replaced and running as good as new! For the low price of $42, it's like nothing was ever wrong with it! It was a fraction of the cost it would have been to get a new iPhone, and I am so glad that I brought it to the Middletown Staples to get it fixed. today I had a package to return to Amazon. A very friendly, helpful associate, Jean, assisted me. He greeted me kindly, and had a smile on his face throughout the exchange. I must note that a manager approached him about a personal matter while he was working with me, this was off-putting to me, and probably a little embarrassing for Jean. Oyvey....I'd really like to leave my review at that buuuut I know I should go a tad into detail. Where to begin? Let's start with the parking lot...?... whomever was responsible with the designing of this parking lot did a terrible job. You literally don't know where you're allowed to park as the spots closest to the actual store are reserved for a specific type of shopper forcing you to park in the far back of the parking lot. Granted I'm all for the exercise but to elderly or handicap this could be quite a challenge. Once you're in the store it's like a ghost town. You aren't greeted by anyone which many stores are now doing and helps you to feel like the store is aware of your presence and will know to offer help should it look like you need some. I don't visit Staples often so it's always an Easter egg hunt for me which is why it would be so helpful to have someone in the front of the store asking if you need help finding anything. After I've literally circled the whole store twice trying to find what it is I am looking for I go to check out only to run into a line that went far into the printer's isle! Only one person working the check out. To make matters worse the first person in line was asking questions regarding a product they were unsure about buying, again another reason why it would be helpful to have an associate on the floor to help customers with these questions BEFORE getting to check out. I don't like giving a tough review but everytime I've visited this store it's been chaos. You're lucky to speak to someone who actually works there & then when you do they aren't sure how to help and need to call assistance that takes 15min to show up. Maybe they could use new management I dont know but they could use a makeover that's for sure. read more

A huge Staples with every possible thing for a business or home office you could need. I always find stuff I don't really need but end up buying anyways. Tons of paper, pens, crates, toner, computer hardware and software and even furniture. This one even has maps and junk food by the registers. I don't like giving an impersonal chain store like this five stars, but the staff were friendly and very knowledge and I don't really know how this store could do what it does any better. The only negative is that it gets crowded but you can't really blame the store for being successful. read more

This is my go to store for all my business needs. It's very organized the staff are both friendly and knowledgable . You can get any printing needs or computer issues resolved. I have bought from computers to Ipad covers to misc things. I had a issue with a label maker I purchased there and the staff member couldn't have been more helpful. He said I could return it even though I didn't have the box. No problem. I feel that is good customer service. No arguments . Nice. Staples is located off the main road so it's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking. Staples is great for the kids as well. School supplies can be very costly so if you have more than one child It makes sense to buy in bulk and they have all the latest styles and gimmicks the kiddies love!! One stop shopping!! Get your office supplies somewhere else. Terrible customer service. The sales associate had a terrible attitude. He questioned the ink I was purchasing saying there was no way I had a printer that new. He had troubles processing the transaction, I asked for him to get a manager. The manager who was a former line level associate (I shop there often) was no better. Her attitude was unacceptable. If you shop here expect bad attitudes from the majority of associates. read more

This store is abusive and incompetent. They get really mad if you "find" something that is "hidden" in the store and several markdowns do not show and want to buy it. Personally, I feel like they didn't want the merchandise found so they could buy it when it went down even lower since the price is lower in the computer even if the markdowns don't show on the merchandise. They give incorrect information and it is an upsetting store. I hope they go out of business. They would get upset with taking coupons on markdowns or black friday. One time a cashier threw a box of kleenix at me when I said I could use a manufacturer's coupon with it after she denied me the use of them. . She felt since they were on clearance I couldn't. I should have called the police on her but didn't know better. Her then manager corrected her and I was allowed to use the coupons with them . Unfortunately, he soon left the store and the new manager was poisoned against me when they came. They sent my package to a wrong address and told me that was impossible. It was possible since I had sent packages to a person at 2 different address and they just pulled up the wrong one despite me handing them the address. They made me feel I was not suppose to buy black friday rebate or sales. I was made to feel it was because I only bought "bargains and sales" I was told on black friday that I could bring a coupon later and have it applied to what I bought since I did not have it with me. When I took the coupon in, I was then told I could not have the black friday price I had purchased them with. It was a percentage off the the total price. It did not say this on the coupon and at the time of purchase I was told I could apply it after the fact within so many days. Instead of applying it to the whole purchase which had been done before, he rang the order up again without the black friday prices since black friday was over. When I complained to corporate, it was a horror story with them. I was attacked by lies and a very cruel letter. As I said, the old manager at the time was wonderful but the employees weren't ( It felt like to me some didn't want me to buy certain bargains I would find in the store wanted for themselves)and when a new manager came they took care of me apparently with lies since I never did anything wrong. I was told I was by way of a letter not allowed back into the store and they weren't going to tell me why and didn't have to. It was signed by the corporate person I had spoken with. She said the lawyers wrote it but it was signed by her and there was no indication that it was not written by her. I hope they later fired that new manager because she was terrible. I really did enjoy finding bargains here. This helped me escape my problems.They didn't like people getting them though and I saw them intentionally ignoring the sale products I knew they knew about and show the more expensive item to a customer looking for the same. Once I showed a customer the cheaper item of the same right next to her that the cashier knew was there since we had just finished talking about. He had directed her to the area in the store where the more expensive ones were. He was angry with me for doing so. I was going through an unbelievably terrorizing and emotionally painful events in my life and this certainly did not help. I hope this store closes. read more

Avoid if possible. Convenient location, but sub par customer service. Not knowledgeable about products, bungled print orders, and often out of stock on items. I've given them multiple chances because of the nearby location but I just can't deal with the sullen attitude and lack of concern displayed by some of their team members. I had to go in three times and my printed materials were still messed up (they did cooperate with a refund). They've also been out of stock of items on multiple occasions. Some staff seem annoyed if you ask for help (I get it, but you ARE working a customer service job). Final straw was their staff not knowing there was a Radio Shack in the same plaza and trying to send my mom down to Thames Street for an item - totally unhelpful. read more

Went there today to fax some important documents out and I'm glad I did. I was concerned due to past reviews but I had 2 helpful girls assist me. My overall experience was good. Will try it again, hopefully experience is just as good as my first time visit here. read more

I grew down south and would nearly daily drop of UPS packages at my local Staples and they would say hi, but for some reason a few of the associates here know me by name even though I'm usually only in there once or twice a month these days. That personal touch alone they deserve extra points in my book. read more

Solid store. The copy center is very well set up. Good selection of computers, GPS devices, and printer inks. Good to grab a snack. They have also added a section of stuff that the corner store would have like paper towels, snacks, etc. Stuff you wouldn't go the Staples to buy but might need if you see it there. read more

iPhone screen repair- I dropped my iPhone 6 off for a one day screen repair back on Nov 5th. Paid $140 at time of drop off for repair. One guy -Mgr- working and was in disarray. I explain its a company phone and I need it asap please. The Manager said I should have it back that evening or the next morning. I heard nothing and stopped in person Friday afternoon. He said he was having trouble powering it up. He could continue to work on it and if it did not work he would need to ship it out. Ship out takes 3 days, but because of wkd it would be back Weds/Thurs (11th,12th). We speak again on Saturday and agree to ship out. He calls me Monday to ask which type of phone I had? I tell him. Once again-I call Thursday the12th for status and he is waiting for them to ship a new phone. It will be overnighted. Theme- I call Monday 16th, waiting for new phone, should have soon. Here we are Monday the 23rd, I call again and should be here tomorrow or Weds? 3 weeks+ for a screen repair???????????? Last time I spend my $$$ at that unorganized, unfriendly, unapologetic excuse for a business. read more

Normally, I go to Staples to get simple items like gift cards and office supplies. On this visit, I wanted to buy an an Apple product. After a few minutes of struggling, the sales associate placed the order to have it delivered to the store since it wasn't available. I then left the store and read the receipt thoroughly in my car. Lo and behold, the order wasn't being sent to the store, but an address in TEXAS. I went back in to have the matter fixed and the store manager said he would fix it quickly. After him dialing his 'special number' and waiting 20 minutes, he told me that the wait time was going to be close to an hour. I decided to take matters in my own hands and call the Staples 800 number. After 10 minutes, I was able to get them to re-route the shipment because they could not cancel the order. What was amazing in this whole ordeal was the incompetence level. How is that a simple customer could take care of an employee blunder faster than the store manager?? C'mon Staples. read more

over the last several months I have watched a store I enjoyed going into become a store I dread going into. They think the are a post office? I and two others waited 20 minutes for the one person to take and process packages. must be more profit in package handling than in printing services. unreal when you see it-more than once. BTW I have been on hold while I hunt and peck on me keyboard. 8 minutes now. that's what made me decide to do this review. enough is enough. stores are lacking leadership and silly policies are destroying their once great customer service. another 2 minutes on hold, so hung up and trying again. long promo recording and my wonderful Shelby picked up. This store could not provide worse customer service if it tried! Between the attitudes of the staff and their lack of knowledge, we will not be back. Most recently we purchased a multi-function printer, and found once we got home it would not scan to our computer. We took the printer back to the store, along with our computer, to see if there was a problem with the printer or if we had done something incorrectly in setting it up. The man at the computer service desk refused to even look at the printer, let alone try to help us figure out the problem. Between his arrogance and his "no can do" attitude, Staples should stop calling what they provide "service". read more

This review is specifically about the Copy & Print Center. As a graphic designer, I have been very pleased with the basic B&W printouts for proofs and other simple tasks such as scanning files. I prefer coming to this Staples over the Kinko's in town because usually the copy and print shop isn't very busy. They get your projects turned around very quickly and efficiently. The only thing I don't like too much about Staples at this and probably other copy and print locations is that they don't post prices on how much each sheet will cost. If you send Staples a file without specifying specific details such as number of pages, or if the file is in color and you want it in B&W, they will mostly print out the file as is. Just be wary that theres a big price difference between color and B&W so just be aware and communicate clearly to your print associate. If something doesn't come out the way you want it, they are gracious enough to work with you to get you what you want. I really enjoy working with the copy & print associates here and will continue to be a loyal customer. read more
