Staples isn't known to be the happiest establishment, but this one is horrible every time I visit. I keep coming back because of convenience of the location, but there's always such a long wait to do anything and usually there's no one to help. The employees take their time with their tasks which causes long wait times for the customers. There's normally no one to ring people up in the front either. James is always awesome, friendly, and helpful. Leah is fine as long as you don't need help outside of a quick scan but she really doesn't mind making customers wait. I've actually had to step in to help senior customers because Leah isn't willing to. Mind you, I'm just another customer waiting in line. I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience here. I came to this location to print my wedding invitations, and because of everything that happened, my invitations are now going out late. The first few days I came in, I spent hours in the store trying to get everything right. I knew I had a large order, so I was patient and allowed the staff to help other customers in between assisting me. I was there for nearly three hours at one point while Hannah and Samantha worked back and forth. Despite all that time and effort, my invitations were still printed incorrectly. I tried to stay kind and understanding throughout the entire process, but it honestly feels like that worked against me. At one point, when I called back about a small fix that needed to be made, Hannah told me she wouldn't do it and that I would have to wait an entire week for Samantha to return from PTO. I then asked to speak with a manager. It took multiple calls and long hold times just to finally get in touch with John. Unfortunately, he offered no real solution. I was told there was no compensation or accommodation that could be provided for everything I had experienced. The only thing offered was to give me the rest of the invitations I had already paid for, which doesn't address the time, stress, and delay this caused. I really tried to be patient and respectful throughout this process, but in the end, my patience and kindness ultimately led to my order being mishandled and delayed. For something as important and time sensitive as wedding invitations, this experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I'm still glad there's places that you can still pop in for copies and sort. Needed to make some copies of documents which the prices were quite reasonable for color copies. Not going to lie when we walked in, it was like a ghost town. Ok maybe it's when they were just open for an hour or so but it wasn't busy. They had a good amount of copy machines towards the back where you can make prints and so on. Prices were affordable which is always good. Also passport stuff. Did a quick walk through and was surprised to see that they not only had supplies but home goods supplies. Odd to see laundry detergent at staples. I haven't been in a staples so long that I didn't even know you could mail things in. Maybe or maybe not but did notice people coming in with packages. Hopefully this place last. read more

This staples is easy, clean and cool located directly next to the Dollar Tree (and I do mean directly) in the Costco - Van Nuys parking lot along with Pep Boys. Ample amount of shared parking in front and about Friendly service when you enter, the occasional cool deals and all you office needs... From printers to caffeine fixes - it's nothing but a full assortment of daily work/office essential mixes and fixes. I've stopped in few times before - mainly for small items, new staplers, desk chair inquiry and back to school sales. Recently I was curious browse a electronics and gift ideas as well as use the computer to print some things. Unfortunately I had an issue loading the site I needed from my end, but ended up forwarding what might help to myself after. They had the bluetooth headphones I was curious about, just not on the floor. I totally forgot the carry some gaming items here as well, but the replacement I need for a headset wasn't available (limited items) - but they do carry full sets, consoles, etc. Between the lost prevention/security/gentleman at the door, various Staples staff on the floor and those holding it down at the register or among printing you'll have plenty of people to engage with should you need too. Helpful Note: For the Computer Workstation use is 0.45 per minute (after a $10 fee that will be refunded - I didn't realize this right away as it's not on the workstation - in small print under the pricing where it should be). read more

Absolutely ridiculous. I had one piece of paper that I needed to print, but I needed to print it on a special paper that I had brought with me. I was told by the team member that the standard print machines didn't take custom paper, apparently they grow the paper inside of themselves, and that the team members could use custom paper behind the counter but then it counted as immediate production and would be queued up by the system and be done tomorrow. Now, the two team members in the copy and print section we're not doing anything. They weren't running print jobs, they weren't checking their computer, they were just standing around. This person with no other customers in the store, literally told me that they were too busy to put one sheet of paper in a printer and print something off. I sat there and talked with him for about 5 minutes, it did not matter. He could have done it in the time that I was talking with him. So I understand that this is probably some kind of dumb corporate policy. But it's also extremely poor customer service. If they were busy, or there was a line of customers, then I would understand. But their store was literally empty. Absolutely ridiculous we'll never come back to this location for printing or copying. read more

Everyone's been friendly and helpful but as someone who has worked customer service 10+ years I can say with confidence Brandi goes above and beyond. Paper and printer service employees seem disgruntled and annoyed even with the smallest of asks. Everything that you want under the sun. You meet someone like Hannah that's lazy that doesn't go above and beyond and has no interest in really helping customers that has been using Staples printing center for years. This is a smaller staples, large parking lot. They have a security guard at the door. Most of the workers were busy helping people. One lady was great and helped me print out my large document, she was lovely! They charge .30 a page or somewhere for a black and white printed paper. They have office supplies as well! read more

I walked into this Staples while my wife tires were getting changed at Costco. They have some parking here for non costco members and it's written on the spot but some people ignore that so be aware of that. But when you first walk into this Staples you'll notice the 2 security guard standing at the entrance. They'll greet you and you can continue on your shopping. This Staples seem pretty stocked with printers, ink, pens, folders and etc. They didn't have much computer accessories like keyboard, mouse or speakers here. They had some networking hardware like router, switches and etc. They also had some nice computer chair out on display but I didn't like the comfort on them. read more

Went in this morning to pick up some ink for my Canon G6020 printer. I asked if the GX ink would work and he said it would because he looked it up on the internet. Turns out he was wrong because now my printer no longer works because I keep getting an ink code error. I can't attest to any service or product outside of the printing center but I will say that their printing center staff is excellent. I've come here twice now and each time, the printing center employees (two different people) have been tremendously friendly and helpful. At one point, I had a few items I needed shredded and since it was such a small batch, they didn't even charge me for it. I really appreciated that. Easy parking in a large lot. read more

Really not sure WHY I ever shop here. Their stock levels are paltry & their customer service is not terribly great. I purchased a number of items today, and completely forgot the coupons that were in my handbag. Asked the gal at checkout if I could still use them, and she said I was too late. I went in to get some documents printed, and the lady at the back, Lia I believe her name was, gave me a hard time over a simple request and was quite dismissive. I just asked for a sleeve to put my papers in, and she insisted they don't provide them for free, even though I know they do. Eventually, she gave me one after making various excuses like them being out of stock. While everyone else was friendly, I had a negative experience with her. She made the situation uncomfortable and needlessly difficult. It felt like dealing with a difficult person for no valid reason. read more

THE PLACE TO GO FOR BLUE PRINTS! I needed some blueprints scanned and FedEx-Kinkos on Laurel and Ventura was charging $9.99/page. Ridiculous. Called Staples and spoke with Hector. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The price was significantly less, so I ran over and Hector was able to get them scanned and back to me within 30 minutes. AWESOME! Everyone was super helpful and friendly. Yes, the parking lot is a mess with it being shared with Costco and other businesses, but it's worth it. I didn't realize how big their printing department is. Wish I found out sooner! read more

I did not think I'd write such a positive review about Staples, but here I am! With the supply chain issues and the labor shortage, I understand that times are tough. Working remotely and virtually paperless, I never considered the toll it's taken on the office supply industry. Shelves were bare, but luckily my mom was able to find "the last one" of the items she needs. I needed help finding a laser printer for her, and the female store associate working that night was very friendly and helpful in getting her coworker to help me with my inquiry. Hector came shortly after I requested help, and he was able to find me the exact printer I needed - an HP laser all-in-one. As luck would have it, it was also the last one they had! He very generously offered to put it in a cart for me, so he asked his coworker to bring a cart over so he could load it in for me. He told me about how the supply chain issues has affected their inventory, and that some weeks they don't even have a shipment of printers. I felt very lucky to have his help in finding exactly what we needed. He was also telling me about how the labor shortage has affected their schedule and staff, so I was grateful that he was there to help me that day. He even brought the cart to the register and brought the printer into my car, all of which he volunteered to do. This kind of customer service really made a positive impact on my experience here. Times are tough, but Hector's positive and can-do attitude would lead you to believe that there are no labor or supply chain woes.
