I know he was likely very busy when I called. They keep this store understaffed so I was trying to be gracious when I called. Offering to be willing to hold more than once. I need a stupid little $10 adapter that frankly I'd have paid $100 for I needed it so bad. Will, ("store manager") answered the call with a rushed tone and I immediately offered to wait as I envisioned he had a store full of customers. I'd just conducted a search online and found, through two separate sources, that this store was reporting at least ONE of these adapters in-stock. Will was so rushed that he just couldn't be bothered and almost IMMEDIATELY said he didn't have it in stock. I'd rather someone scream at me that there just too fu^#ing busy or too much of a diva or too busy smoking out to deal with my inquiry than to just dismiss me out of hand with a lie to get me off the phone. Best practice? Say, hey man I'm slammed. Can I call you back in 10? Or, look dude I'm crazy busy can you just call back in an hour? Or - look, I'm on commission and I don't care about your $10 adapter. Any of those would have been more authentic and appreciated. Instead - he tried four times to get rid of me by saying he - a) didn't have what I needed, b) never heard of it, c) it doesn't exist, d) why don't I just order it online, e) they don't have it, f) they don't make it, g) they don't have it Finally after I insisted and pressed HARD he finally found one. I said I'd be right there. This store is an hour away. That's how badly I needed this part. He said he couldn't hold it that long?!?? He said he's only going to hold it a little while Seriously??? This obscure little adapter that 4 minutes earlier he didn't even think existed is suddenly in such high demand he can't hold it for me for 90 minutes??? What a jerk attitude. read more

I called in to printing department and asked some questions, the girl who answered (didn't get her name) was so polite and patient. Very new store so it's very nice and clean.

I had nine ink cartridges from old printers, and someone on FB told me Staples gave you credit for them, and you could use the credit to purchase at the store. AFTER I signed up for the rewards program, and handed over my cartridges, I was told I would get a credit "in a few weeks", and it couldn't be used for my current purchase. Also, I could only bring in 10 a month, and the credit had to be used in the same month of the reward and only if I purchased $30 worth of inventory. Since I turned them in on the 28th of the month, that meant since I wouldn't be receiving my credit "for a few weeks", I obviously wouldn't be able to use the rewards, since I wouldn't receive the credit within the month. This review is solely for the printing side of Staples. I came in hoping to bind a large amount of notes into spiral binding. Santiago instantly helped me and showed how much he cared about my project. He took me in the back with him, showed me everything he was going to do and made sure it was to my liking. This Staples location we have gone to for years! Never disappointed in the hundreds of visits at this location! The staff is always there to assist, always available, always providing great service. Yesterday, I was in purchasing ink, recycling 20 printer inks, and purchasing a flash drive. Viviana and Christian, the manager assisted me with great skill and knowledge on other questions I had. Christian, the manager is always involved with the customers upon the associate asking the manager for assistance. Getting two stars for the service at the UPS shipping area. Josh, the person that was helping did not help at all. He just pointed to the boxes and obviously saw that I was struggling in getting one, he didn't move a muscle. And when I finally got one, he said that was the wrong packaging. Took another ten minutes to get another box for myself. Unbelievable! I had to box and tape it myself when other Staples stores did it for me. I waited awhile for him to finish whatever he was doing and his assistant manager, David, came over. He was nice and did mine quick. That's for the two stars. This is a clean and nice Staples in a good location. Some Staples can be pretty nasty but this one is one of the more nice locations. Only rela drawback is that most Staples are pretty understaffed and often times you have to wait quite a bit to checkout. Other then that I would recommend this location! read more

As far as what I use this Staples for is concerned, I only check out the clearance pile and make use of their UPS shipping. They do it well, and their pickup time is 5:00, although I think it was at 5:30 before and they set the deadline earlier. They also sell shipping boxes here, although they offered nothing sufficiently large enough for a huge shipment that I was requested to process. Either way, despite leaving the boxes for the next shipping day, the boxes went out properly, so at least it functions as a dropoff location. Buying items from the clearance pile went without hassle too. read more

I gave Staples another try when I needed new business cards the same day. They came through with decent business cards in two days, which was still a saver. But, the first day promise wasn't there because their printer was down. Wow! Can't they fix that sooner. And, the quality of the cards was substandard, and the associate was not able to assist in the formatting at all. Still not very impressed, but would use in dire straits. read more

Wanted to love this Staples for its newness and proximity. But I couldn't believe two gentlemen in what looked to be manager shirts, completely ignored helping my daughters (3 years old and 4 months), and I. Instead of asking if they could help or let David, the friendly print technician help us, they ignored us (with their backs to us). And seemed only to be concerned with getting printer parts to one of their other stores. Very disappointed. I know I shouldn't but I do expect more especially from management. read more

Haven't been a Staples fan much--preferred Office Max until they closed the store on El Toro and Moulton. Needed a mat for under my chair. Asked where they were and that person notified Big John who was in that section of the store. Thought that was nice. Appreciated his knowledge of the different types so I could make a good decision. He carried it to the checkout, took care of the sale and loaded it in my car. That's customer service! Hope Big John is there next time I need something at Staples. I'm surprised to see such negative reviews. Especially the one with Joshua in printing. HE ROCKED! One of the best copy experiences I've had! I'm planning my wedding and have been to multiple copy places. I tried them for the first time yesterday after frustration with Office max messing stuff up. My first experience was on the phone when I called to ensure they could do what I needed. He was so helpful I made sure to get his name so when I went in the store he was the one to help me. Lucky for me he was! He helped me above and beyond with all my multiple printing needs from cutting,printing, pulling stuff from USB,poster mounting and more. I was there a good hour or so getting stuff done. It's a print shop with 1 to 2 employees working on multiple projects! There will be a wait! People need to realize they aren't the king and queen of the universe. I patiently waited and understood there were many projects ahead of me. He still made every effort to get all my many projects done in a quick manner. It was never not busy. Constant line.and sad to say I witnessed many rude,I want this done now, I need it now type people. Sorry you waited till the last minute people.. understand you are one of many people! They are miles better than Office max. Who I've been dealing with for months. Idk why I never came here sooner! Josh got done in 20 minutes what I waited for officemax to get done in a day and a half! And less quality and double the price! I will now be a Regular Staples customer due to his great customer service! Remember when reading negative reviews not all are true and not everyone leaves their bad days to them selves. Customer service is everything! Liz was my cashier and hardly said two words to me. She waved me over to her register with the flick of her wrist. She did not say hello or ask if I found everything I needed (none of the usual stuff cashiers ask). Instead, she scanned my items and simply looked at me when she was ready for me to pay. Fortunately the total was displayed on the credit card device so since Liz still had not uttered a word to me I simply paid and gathered my bags. I bought $40 worth of ink cartridges then went back in a couple minutes later in at 9:00 a.m. on a Friday to get 4 (four) color copies made. The clerk behind the counter listened to my request, took my originals and then said, "it will be an hour. I have a big job I have to get done by noon." Seriously? I'm bringing my child's valentines in to get 4 pages done. It's a matter of switching 4 (four) pieces of plain 20 lb. paper for plain white cardstock. It would take (maybe) two minutes, tops. Oh, no. He JUST couldn't do it. I offered to go to Ralph's and PetSmart and return in a few minutes. Nope! "I can't do it." RIDICULOUS. I come here alot, I shop here all the time. The one time I try to get 4, single sided, 8.5 x 11 color copies on standard white cardstock for Valentine's Day and I'm told it can't possibly be done. I have to return in an hour. Like who's going to do that? Even more galling? He spent a couple of minutes talking to an associate before coming over to help me. So I guess he has time to chat but not to run a 2 minute job. Sheesh. I went to Kinko's instead and got treated properly. I know my order wasn't big. It was ten bucks worth of color copying. But you know what really got me? He took my originals back behind the counter and acted like he was going to do it then changed his mind and decided, nope, Valentine's Day cards for this lady, two minutes' of time, not gonna do it. The calculator I want was out of stock from my local store. Online stock check indicated this store had it. The store seems clean and organized. I was amazed that whenever there was a line at the check out, someone would rush over and open a new register. During check out, I noticed the price in store for the calculator was higher than staples.com price. The cashier and manager Jeff adjusted it for me without me even asking for it. The last time I was in a fellow named Simon helped me. He was very helpful and really knew his stuff. I recommend this place for the staff. Where do I start... I initially went into a location in order to order my business cards after checking out the paper stock options. I sent in my designs and we began working together with the online interface to get these business cards printed. Mind you, I am a professional graphic designer and have been doing printing for business and personal projects for years. My dimensions, bleed, etc., were exactly as dictated by the Staples online interface. Yet -- it continued to cut it, cut it, cut it. We had to move things around to get it remotely centered, when it was designed so that this WOULDN'T be an issue. Mind you, at this point, I'd already been there for going on 30 minutes because he was the only person working and getting constantly pulled away by other customers. At the 40 minute mark, I told him I'd just go home and do it online now that I've chosen a paper. I want to stress this is no fault of his. Staples management needs to be better about allotted hours in order to staff things properly. He did the absolute best he could with the circumstances he was given. This gave me an opportunity to go home and adjust the card yet again to better work with the staples business card printing interface (which I will say is hands down the most inaccurate and nearly unusable interface in comparison to competitors). I previewed it, it looked good. Sent it in. Was told online and in person they would be ready next day. Which was great, cause I had an impromptu conference to attend three days later. No email comes. Conference happens without business cards. Day after the conference, I'm back in town and go directly to the staples to pick it up. Again, took forever. One person forced to run around to the point of honestly being inhumane to the poor workers that I guarantee are not getting paid enough for what you expect them to do. I open the cards and what do I see? Half cut off, not even REMOTELY close to centered or at ALL like the preview I was given online or in person. So literally worse than imagined or promised. Again, I have to assert that I promise you I know what I'm doing here, and specifically adjusted the cards to work with that terrible interface. That woman was so slammed and I had other work related things to do so I am saving going back in to get this fixed for another day. Start to finish the simple act of printing business cards was easily the most nightmarish hellscape version of such a (what I wrongly assumed to be) simple task. Not even sure you guys are going to give me my money back, but I guess we'll see! Help out your workers. Every blue moon when I return to your printing department throughout the years, I am quickly reminded why I keep boycotting it for long periods of time. Sucks you're the easiest option in a time crunch because boy howdy it's like playing crap with every imaginable odd stacked against you that you're gonna get a clean product. And who could blame the people working on them? I think I'd rather be penniless than work in that printing department if those were my two options. I used to work at starbucks for chrissakes and I feel like entitled soccer moms are kinder in their cruelty about their lattes than what your limited and overworked staff has to deal with. I was recently bummed by Staples in general. I tried to use some of my monthly rewards $10 at 915PM pacific time the day my coupons expired. I was unable to use them online and tried to get a hold of the service team online, with no luck. This Staples is where I do all my shopping and spend my dollars so they get the review. The store has been good; but the non response from customer service has put me in the situation for a 2 star review. She even did trouble-shooting to fix a screen issue (as I had previously had it replaced elsewhere). The customer service & quality of service was absolutely stellar.
