The poster print won't be ready until next week. The booklets were ready on time and I picked them up today. Very convenient. The only issue is they said when they would be ready but no confirmation. There's nothing glamorous here and while many folks have noted the sometimes not-so-wonderful service, there are some other things to consider: :: This is an Amazon pick up / drop off spot. They receive, pack, and ship packages for free. :: This is also UPS shipping and drop off spot. The last pick up is at 4pm. :: TSA Pre-Check appointments can be scheduled here. This beats going to any of the airports. :: They offer free e-cycling (electronic recycling) and also receive ink recycling. :: Office Depot is going out of business. While it's technically the same company at this point, I think this Staples might become more of a go-to than ever previously. :: Having trouble finding a product online or at other stores? More often than not, Staples is good for finding stuff that other places have run out of. I'd recommend calling ahead of time. I was here for the TSA PreCheck appointment. I wouldn't come to the Heights Staples on Taylor Street for anything else. But. Since I got a $10 off coupon after my appointment, I started to fill up my shopping list. Walking around, I wanted to replace my HP printer. Looking at the floor models, I got interested with something on the display chart. I asked one employee. She walked around and said they don't carry it. Ok. I'll be back to get the one they do stock. Walking to different parts of the stores... Maybe I'll get a backpack. Eh? No price tags at all. Fine. Let me chCK floor mats I saw online. No price tag again. I didn't feel like carrying it to the cashier and bring it back. Ok. No shopping today. Just looking for things to fill my list. I think I got enough on my list and I'll be back. Oh. Applying TSA PreCheck was fast and easy. I started filling out the form online. Then, show up at the appointment. Whole process took about 8 minutes. If I could give zero stars, I would. This Staples on Taylor Street is hands-down the most disorganized, unprofessional, and downright lazy store I've dealt with. I placed a custom wrapping paper order on 12/03 (order #6950377941) to pick up on 12/05. I even got the confirmation email. Before driving an hour to this location, I tried calling to confirm it was ready, sat on hold for over 30 minutes, no one ever picked up. Should've taken that as the first red flag. When I arrived, I stood at the print counter for 20+ minutes with another customer, completely ignored by every employee who walked by. I finally had to chase down TWO associates just to get someone to acknowledge we were waiting. The girl who tried to help wasn't even from the print department, and the guy standing at the UPS counter with no customers didn't lift a finger to help either. The customer ahead of me was told her order wasn't ready. Then it was my turn--surprise! My order wasn't printed at all. Even though I had the confirmation email, nobody could tell me why it wasn't done. The manager took forever to come out after the associate begged over her headset, and when he finally appeared, he fed me the most ridiculous excuse: that Staples "underestimated the demand" for the 75% off wrapping paper sale and that the entire state of Texas couldn't print wrapping paper. Yes... really. Funny enough, I placed the exact same order at another Staples location right after this and had my daughter pick it up in Dallas with zero issues. So clearly that excuse was a lie. It took another 15 minutes just to get my refund. This entire mess could've been avoided if someone had simply answered the phone. Instead, I wasted two hours driving, missed out on the 75% off promotion, and dealt with employees who looked annoyed to even be there. Absolutely unacceptable. This store needs new management, new training, and maybe a reminder that customers shouldn't have to beg for basic service. Came to this location for a TSA Precheck IDEMIA appointment. Came around 12:45 and there were 2 parties (4 people total) ahead of us. Each group were processed in less than 10 minutes. Our total appointment for 2 people went smoothly and quickly. We had to wait past our appointment time although I am not sure if the people in front of us were walk ins or waiting for their appointment. Don't walk-in close to 1 as that is start of their lunch. read more

I had an awful experience with this store in particular and I would never recommend doing business with them. I called to complain and I was transferred to Jennifer. I had ordered business cards online as they advertise "same day pickup" if you place an order before 12pm the same day (FALSE advertising btw). I needed these business cards in time for a major last minute event this weekend. Twice I tried ordering these cards. The first time it was 11am. Before 12. They email me 9 hours later telling me that they cancelled my order as my catds had an error. The next day I ordered them at 6 am. I was told the sooner I order, the sooner they will be finished. I had to call them 10 HOURS LATER because I had not gotten any status update. They said they were still being processed. An hour passes and I get a message that the printers are down and they cannot complete my order. Again I understand that is something you cannot predict, yet you can see how frustrating this first experience at Staples has been for me. Especially with the lack of customer service and professionalism. "Same day pickup" should not be promoted on your website if you are overwhelmed with hundreds of orders a day and don't get back to your customers until 30 minutes before you close.. even when you place your order before the sun comes up???? With christmas around the corner, we were completely aware that it may take a couple more days than what they advertise. Almost a week goes by and we don't get any updates. We tried calling the store several times to avoid having to drive all the way there but they never answer. First time we went, one of their employees told us it will be ready by tomorrow. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited a day before coming in again. Once again we tried the phone, no answer. We came in one last time and we asked the employee working and she tells us a completely different thing and all orders will be canceled automatically. We ask to speak to a manager and once again we get told a completely different thing. Overall, the lack of communication, inconsistency, and just being left in the dark made our experience very frustrating. This review is very overdue, but this store really went above and beyond for me when I had an issue. In particular, the store manager, Jennifer, was amazingly helpful in resolving an problem I had with a printing order. I has used the delivery option for print jobs that Staples offers through a third party and that third party completely dropped the ball -- they tried to make a delivery and when they could not find the office they marked it as refused and returned it to the Staples. I was very lucky that it did not get recycled. This is when the amazing customer service part comes in -- I spoke with Jennifer and she personally delivered the item. She spoke with me on the phone several times, and emailed, to coordinate. Jennifer really came through for me in a way that was very helpful in a stressful situation -- I was traveling to Houston for work and needed the materials for an event. Kudos again to the work ethic and customer service approach of the store manager, Jennifer. read more

I went to this store to shred some work documents. I waited and waited. When I was finally helped, I asked about recycling another stack of blank documents I had. I was told they don't do any recycling. I questioned why they had a bin labeled and was informed both are just trash cans. They don't do any recycling. WOW! I was then passed off to a manager and made to wait again. I questioned the manager about the false advertising and she said she had been there 13 years and it has never been a problem. Ummm maybe because people actually think they are recycling.. The only reason I asked is because I had a stack of papers and was asking if they wanted them in the recycle bin or had another place they would rather put them. Appalling Staples. Do better clearly label trash cans so people aren't falsely lead to believe you actually care about the environment in any way. It seems most of the negative reviews here are in regards to customer service and I admit it can be challenging to find the help you need if you're not familiar with office supply stores, but the layout at all Staple locations are pretty much the same and there are plenty of signs to direct you if you look up. This is typical of any box stores whether it's office supplies or hardware, etc. Rarely have I visited one of these stores and not found what I needed the selection can be a little over whelming and that may be the reason a lot of people get frustrated I don't think most of the employees here look at this as a career so they simply don't have the knowledge or drive to get very involved in learning the merchandise or engage the customers. I frequent Staples mostly because they are a authorized dealer for Apple accessories and that saves me time verses driving to a official Apple Store so I overlook the poor customer service and ineptness that abounds here. read more

Not this exact location but Staples customer service sucks. I ordered my computer chair on 12/22. I was supposed to receieve it on 12/24. They had trouble passing through my apartment gate when the apartment office is clearly open and if the driver cared more about customers, he or she could've asked to one of the apartment office staffs. Because of this my delivery date was pushed to 12/27. I had to call them that since my apartment is gated, the driver need to ask the apartment office so they can help them out. the customer service lady i spoke to said she is going to write it down and provide directions regarding this. apparently she didn't do shit because today 12/27, i get the exact fucking same email saying they couldn't deliver. Like how lazy/stupid can you be to not knowing how to pass by the gate? so now i have to wait till monday which is really annoying. i was gonna just pick it up at the carrier nearby and the customer agent said, "oh we dont have that information" "we do not have staples location nearby" bullshit. like get it together i swear if they push it back again and make me wait longer im gonna get a refund and leave bad reviews all over their website and google. read more

Dianah was our customer service representative on our trip 1/4-5/22. We had submitted a brochure for printing from Our home base in California. We picked up on 1/4 right before closing. The print was not to our level of quality. I called Dinah the next morning. Without hesitation she offered multiple options to correct the situation. We were on the move to our convention in Galveston and she even offered to swing the project to the nearest store on the trip. After some consideration, why would I drift from someone who already has gone to the next level for us? We took a detour back to her store and she reprinted the brochures and upgraded the paper. I came in to pick up an online order after receiving a confirmation e-mail to pick up. Nobody was working at the online pick up order line so I had to wait in the regular line. And when it came my turn, they had trouble finding my order because the cashier and someone else in the back kept going back and forth about the name on the order. After 10+ minutes of that and other customers coming and paying at the cashier, the cashier finally took a few steps to the online order line and opened up a cabinet where my order had been the whole time. For whatever reason, she had to opened up the order and write down my name, DL number, and address on the "store copy" of the order. At the same time, there was a few pages of other orders' "store copy" with nothing written on it except for the signature of the people picking it up. I was hoping that this would be a five minutes in and out thing for me. But I ended up spending almost 20 minutes in there. Very inefficient. read more
