She handed me a piece of paper with an 800 number on it, call them. I did call the 800 number. The lady was nice and apologized for the behavior of the Associate in the store. This review is specifically for the print shop- JJ was incredibly helpful in getting the ink color on my wedding programs JUST right. He's extremely knowledgeable and worked with me on several different versions until we found the right one, then printed them for me on the spot even though it was minutes away from closing time. I had tried several different competitors first, and they couldn't get it right. I'm so happy thanks to Michael and Jack! I asked Jack where I could find a 3-hole punch for 5.5 x 8.5 paper. He told me that they didn't have that specifically, but that the hole punches they had were adjustable and I would find them on aisle 7, on the right side, at the end closest to me. I was impressed that he knew his products and their location so well. It was very helpful. I enlisted Michael at the front to help me adjust the hole punch. He spent some time working on it, but unfortunately didn't have a flat-head screwdriver handy. He explained to me what I would need to do to adjust it once I got home. When Jack heard me apologizing for taking so much of their time, he said it didn't matter. He said, "YOU are what's important." Michael and Jack were knowledgeable and professional. I arrive, wait at the print center for 10 minutes with no one around, then he continues to tell me I don't exist in the system when I have a confirmation email and receipt, then tells me it hasn't even started and it won't be ready for another day. Hey it's Saturday and I thought it would a great day to return an item I purchased the previous day. To my surprise the product didn't work which brought me back to Staples. You want to know what I bought some speakers to improve the quality of my small business. As I stood in line waiting my turn I laughed at the jokes told by Crystal the manager of Staples to the two customers ahead of me. I noticed when it was my turn I was not greeted with a hello, even tho I said HI. I explained I was returning the speaker because it did not work. Crystal was quick to tell me NO we do not accept returns especially an opened product. I advised Crystal the day before May 21, 2021(Friday) Brandon is the one whom opened the box to confirm it included all the necessary cords before purchase. She was once again quick to inform me Brandon works under her and she is the Manager. She treated me rude and embarrassed me in front of other customers. I tried to change the mood and ask are you having a good day, but that didn't work she grabbed the money from the register and tossed the refund to me. Overall poor customer service from Crystal the Manager maybe next time she should be kind and polite to everyone. Never know what a person is going through. Never going this location if she is there. I went in today to make a return and a purchase using a staples cash card (store credit). The cashier Diane had a scowl on her face and was impatient and lacked the customer service I'm used to at this location. I was not even greeted!! Apparently their system has been having problems processing debit cards and store merchandise credits. This went on for 15 minutes and then she called the store manager to come up to help. It was apparent as she approached the register that she's having a bad day too! She didn't greet me either and was frustrated herself with the situation they had been dealing with all day. I understand we all have bad days but as a customer coming in I have nothing to do with this??? Getting to the point my card I know has $26.59 credit on it and I had the receipt with me. She preceded to tell me there's nothing on the card. After 20 more minutes went by and she's trying to check it on different registers she then tells me I had $1.19 left on the card? Which is it nothing or $1.19?? Next she tells me the system is down and she's unable to see the balance. At this point I'm frustrated and she's growing more irritated and rolling her eyes at me. I will never go back to staples and apparently I'll just lose the money I had on my store credit. Whatever happened to customer service and the customer is always right?? It's rare I give one stars because they are reserved for the most extreme ethical violations. And this one cost me thousands of dollars. A rep visited my office offering to provide supplies at a cheaper rate than our current suppliers. He calculated the savings and all seemed ok... But it wasn't. Seeing supply costs skyrocket we discovered he wasn't telling the truth about comparing apples to apples. Yes, they had comparable items but they were not cheaper! Their items contained less of the product per bottle than our previous supplies, therefore more had to be ordered, thus spending more for the same. He was either ignorant of this or knew it. Either way, what we were told was not what was delivered and cost my business thousands of dollars. We will never use staples again. Ever. read more

This has got to be the worst managed store I have ever been to. My grandmother and I came in to look at office chairs and found one we were interested in. It was in the box so we asked for them to put it together and we would come back later to actually sit in it and see if it was any good. We come back the next day and no one ever assembled it. We had to sit there while they assembled it in the back, which was annoying, but whatever, accidents happen. Even after they assembled it the arm rests were pretty obviously defective because they shifted all over the place when you tried to lock them in place and even the guy who assembled it couldn't figure it out. We decided on a different chair that we tried and the guy gave me some spiel about how i couldn't buy the display and the other boxes were on the truck and it would be a pain to get them before the rest was unloaded. At this point I was starting to lose my patience but I figured whatever I'll just buy one, have them assemble it, and then I'd pick it up the next day without my grandmother since I didn't want to make her come to the store for a 3rd time . Fast forward to now, I'm waiting in the store because no one put the chair together and the manager acted like it was somehow my fault that no one told him it needed to be assembled even though it quite plainly displayed on my receipt that I requested that it would be assembled, which I paid for btw. Don't blame me because your dumb staff forgot to leave you a note. Don't ever buy anything here that they have to assemble, because apparently no one actually communicates in this store. I went to make copies. First printer had issues - perpetual "clear paper jam" message. I cleared the jam ... and it happened again. Opening the printer usually makes the staff leap over the counter to help... but not this staff. So I scribbled a note that said, "OUT OF ORDER" and left it on the printer, for the next poor person who comes along, so they won't waste their time trying to fix the machine. I went to the other printer... that one was out of toner. I didn't bother to make a note. IF any of the copy staff had even glanced in my direction, I would have let them know there was a problem. But they were very skilled at avoiding eye contact. What's a girl to do... but leave and go to another store, their neglect gives their competitors business! read more

Horrible customer service! Twice! By the same person named Nicole! This morning I had to make a quick stop to fax a few pages. I came in and I had to say Hello twice to this lady named Nicole at the Copy and Print corner for her to finally turn her head around and ask me what I needed. I told her I needed to fax some papers. I have not faxed anything for years so I did not remember how the machine worked and this was my first time faxing here as well. All she did was pointing her finger at the machine close to the door and told me to go there. I went there and she has already turned her head back to whatever she was doing. I didn't know how to use it so I asked her and she did not even bother to come over until I told her I really needed help. She came over and said "you put the number in then press start" then before I even did it she vanished again!!! the rest of the experience was just short and rude. No smiles!! I asked her earlier if she was busy during the time I needed help and she boldly told me "YES". This same girl was on either FaceTime or some sort of video chatting the last time I visited Staples to make some copies. A few months ago. I was so upset I was going to write a review but I did not. However I just could not stand it any more. She totally ignored me and was video chatting with a man on the other line talking about personal stuff. And I was standing there trying to ask her questions and always got very short answers from her and she always went away very quick. I work in a very fast and busy environment dealing with customers as well. We get so busy a lot of times but we never treat customers like this. We know how to tell our clients in a polite way if we cannot take them in when we are overbooked. I was the ONLY customer at the copy and printing department and you could not even help me out? I will never return to this Staples or any other Staples. I chose you guys over other copy and printing businesses but I have been so disappointed twice because your staff has not been trained correctly and so rude to be in the customer service business. I know, I know. It's a chain office supply store but what on Earth could warrant five stars? Quite simply- the staff. TWICE the staff here has saved my sorry ass from receiving a failing grade. I've had to scan over 500 pages of paperwork and convert to PDF and send it to TWU in a timely manner. They've done it all for me AND cut me a price break. Seriously. Shout out to Turner at the print shop because he is the man. I don't go to a whole lot of office supplies stores but this particular location is my go-to and they seem to have everything I need. I ordered an item online and had it shipped to the store. I tried calling this location twice and was put on hold for over 10 mins. I was calling to confirm my deliver was at this location since it doesn't give an address in the email confirmation and to have an easy pick up. They staff was slow and seemed confused on what to do and couldn't find my order. I had already paid for the items and just needed to pick them up. They finally found it after 20 mins. They staff was not friendly or helpful. I thought this would be EASY, it was not! I will not be going back here again, and I would not recommend it because of the bad customer service, losing purchased orders, slow service (over 20 mins in the store for simply picking up a paid item and no other customers where in the store) and not being easy like their slogan! read more

Worst service received here. Tried to return a defective stamp (the numbers were stamping backwards so clearly a manufacturer's defect) - granted I did not have a receipt but the staff were not willing to work with me to figure this out. Kind of unfair that it was a defective product and they were sooo unhelpful. I've worked as a cashier before and despite "store policies" requiring receipts for exchanges we always made exceptions when warranted. Not like I was trying to return or exchange a product I just didn't want. All I wanted was one that actually worked!!!!! I ended up calling corporate customer service. Something is wrong at the Preston / Forest Staples. A once dependable print service department has now become disorganized, out the standard supplies and an overall mess, with boxes, trash and miscellaneous clutter filling the entire area. The staff seems to lack initiative and decline print jobs without apology. The reason given is always different: Out of...special paper, poster board, or machine is broken, etc. The store is not clean and the shelves are picked-over. It once was a decent and dependable operation and I was a regular and loyal customer. Sorry, but will never return! read more
