Three months ago I was fannying about at Casual Living looking for a new patio umbrella. I was doing my usual juggling act & takin pics, dropped my iPhone on their back patio & busted the screen :(( I went to AT&T for a replacement & the salesman told me I should wait 12 more weeks till the new iPhones come out to use my upgrade that it was working just fine no need for a new phone just put a screen protector on it, upgrade in 12 weeks to the iPhone 6. I put the plastic sticky thing on & I hated it so much I took it off instantly & tossed it in the bin. With just a couple more weeks to go till the new iPhone's hit the shelves it was still working great! Then hubby came along.... Last weekend hubby & I were doing our usual gig hangin by the pool doing a whole lot of nutin. Listening to music, havin fun in the sun drinkin margaritas, when he decides to do his poolside welcome to the jungle Axel Rose flying bird aqua dance impersonation, that ended in a cannonball on my head, simultaneously splashing water all over my already busted iPhone screen that was layin poolside. All of a sudden it was like my iPhone took some acid & started tripping! First there were three faint purple lines that formed, then it started flashing as the purple lines became a deeper purple.Then the three purple lines turned really dark purple & black & I couldn't see anything clearly or get anything to work properly! It started flashin like super fly & then it just stopped....became normal again. However, it soon became apparent the BAD trip was just beginning.... I plugged it in to recharge & a couple hours later I picked it up to use it & it started trippin AGAIN!! The three purple lines came back & then the whole screen went black! Then when I got someone on the phone I couldn't even end the call! I was like "um, my phone is broke so your gona have to hang up for me." That got a ton of laughs. All day long all I could do was voice command Suri to call someone in my contact list. No email, no yelp, no weather, no eBay, no soaps, no news, no TEXTING, nutin. My world had gone dark. The Curtain was down, the theatre was black, the show was over folks. See what happens when you do cannonballs & listen to Rock n' Roll children LOL I didnt want to use my upgrade when the new iPhone is coming out in only a couple weeks! Absolutely the greatest store if you need a repair. Completely knowledgeable, honest, and quick. My iPhone fell on the floor and I had a black screen. I took it to the Apple store and they said they could repair the screen, but could not guarantee that I wouldn't lose my data/contacts/photos, etc. The Apple store sold me a new phone, but couldn't help me get the iCloud to transfer. Completely upset that no one could figure out how to access my iCloud because I needed access from my old, I did a little research. I found this company and it was quickly repaired, I didn't lose anything off of my phone, and was given a thorough tutorial about how to do a better backup and how to transfer all of my information from my old phone, now working-thanks to John, to my new phone. It was closing time and I was told that if I couldn't figure it out to come back in the morning and he would help me. My son lasted a whole year with his first iPhone before splintering the screen. Bad dad / good dad, you make the call: I allowed him to twist for about a month and come to terms with what he did, although he actually had a great story that involved some chivalry as to how he broke it. I couldn't be completely mad and heartless about the whole thing, but I DID need to wait for a little while to take advantage of this "lesson teaching moment". So after the whole one month of waiting and little pieces of screen falling off, and the screen eventually completely failing, I finally did some research and made the trek to iFix. Gotta say, excellent, quick replacement service which they did while I waited on my lunch break for a 5s screen. They do offer some upsells while you are there such as some kind of screen protector which is about $20. I just went for the straight screen replacement on it's own, and they actually charged me less than they had quoted which I appreciated. Just be very clear with what you are bringing in so there are no price surprises. There is a small waiting room with a TV, or you can chill out at one of the nearby restaurants as others have suggested. Requested a quote via Yelp and literally got a response within 3 minutes! Cray! Ended up stopping by 30 minutes later for an iPhone 6 battery replacement (because Apple will not get my coins for an 8 or X) since my phone works just fine. The expected wait time was 15 min- 30 min because there were 2 phones in front of me. Again, under promise and over deliver. I don't think I was there for a full 10 minutes! They were very quick. In the past I've had a bad experience with iPhone repair places where they've jacked up my stuff worse than I brought it in but I'm glad this experience was completely different. The crack spread over a few days until it reached the other side of the phone. Then a new crack appeared. Then another!! I called when the first crack appeared and they WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK!!! Of course, they said I had done something. I've had this phone for more than FOUR years without a problem and their repair didn't hold up for two days. Yeah, sure, it's me. Okay. Whatever. Despite that the circular glass opening for the home button isn't centered. Now, after a week plus, there are so many cracks I'm going to take it to Apple to get a quality replacement.
