First, the sales manager, Beth Hebert gave me a very good price for 2 pairs and a free eye exam, She treated me very well and gave me a time to have my eyes checked, I then called to change my time and the jerk who talked with me would not honor the appointment. He said anyone over the age of 80 could not have this deal. I am 82 years of age and cannot accept this treatment. i DO NOT UNDERSTAND! NEVER GO TO STANTON OPTICAL. STAY AWAY. WORST "EYE DOCTOR" VISIT EVER!!!!! One star because Yelp won't allow ZERO STARS!!! Being new to the area, I went to Stanton Optical - should have read Yelp first! My bad. When I'm called back, I go in to an exam room with a young man and an older lady - no one introduced themselves. Put my purse on the counter. Counter has all kinds of water spots on it - at 9 am on a Monday. The lady was new and had forgotten to do the first part where you look at the red farmhouse and then they put the puff of air in your eye. Okay. It's her first day. No worries. They take me to a second room for that. Same thing with this counter. That's done and I go back in the room with this man who I think is the doctor. So I start to tell him about my eye concerns. He tells me I'll get a chance in a few minutes. Okay. No worries. Then he can't get the system to work and some other man pops up on a video screen in the room for another patient. He is told to wait. I'm assuming he's doing some sort of consult - no one has explained him to me. They said the patient's full name several times with me in the room. The guy on the screen is just waiting there. It's awkward. So then I go back out to the waiting room and a few minutes later, they call me back. Now, I'm in a third room and the countertop in this third location ALSO has lots of water spots on it. Makes me feel like the place is nasty. No one has explained why I have to keep going back to the waiting room every few minutes. 30+ years of eye doctors. This is a first. Anyway, the man and a different assistant leave and I'm alone with a woman ON THE TV SCREEN doing my "is this better or is this better?" No one explained to me who this woman is or what she is there for. No one had asked me about my near or far vision. Or my need for bifocals. No one has looked at my other glasses. No one has asked if I have questions or issues. So when she is done, I start to tell her I have a really hard time seeing at night. She stops me and says the in-person guy will do that. Except the woman assistant comes in and I start to ask her when I can talk about that stuff with a doctor. She asks if I put it down on the intake form. No. The intake form did not ask about that. She was shocked that I would want to talk to a - get this - eye doctor. She was flustered and didn't know what to do. This was NOT the new lady. I was sent BACK to the waiting room !!!!! A THIRD TIME!!!!!!! I left there. In TEARS!!!! Frustrated. Treated like cattle. No one had the decency to introduce themselves to me. No one had the decency to explain the process to me. I was very disappointed in the older lady that took care of me for glasses. When they came in she had my bifocals up in my line if sight up high. Proceeded several times to tell me it was my fault. That the law states that she must measure them a certain way. That if I didn't like it then it was my responsibility to tell her to measure it differently. I don't work there I know nothing about glasses except I've been wearing bifocals for almost 20 years. Never have I gotten bifocals like those. She was very rude to me kept saying it was my fault. Now have to wait 2 more weeks to see if there right. Told me when I get them they will look stupid because they won't be done correctly so it's all my fault. They tell you it will be 10-14 days before your glasses will be ready due to Covid-19 and it has been 17 days and my wife's glasses just came in today and mine are still not ready. They processed our order at the store at the same time, took our money ahead of time and sent them off to be done at the same time but yet they can't send them back at the same time. It was a good thing I called again this morning before we left the house just to make sure before we made a 20 mile trip from the country to the store because mine hadn't come in like they told me from a call I made the day before, so I have been Lied to Twice and the personnel don't really seem to know anything or care so they are little to no help at all. We (my mother and I) are very understanding of the time that we are living in and were prepared to wait. We sat there patiently, the staff was very nice and apologetic to our wait. We saw the optometrist virtually of course, who was very nice also. By the time I walked back into the waiting room, our prescriptions were all ready being sent over. We picked our frames out and preceeded to our purchase and we on our way. It had been explained that due to Covid-19 our lenses would have to be sent to the store, instead of the one hour wait. I called in to get my eyeglass prescription and all I got was the runaround and no answers. After being transferred many times I waited 20 minutes and was hung up on. Twice. Finally called corporate and they're going to email me my prescription, but the technician at the office basically held the number to corporate hostage until I scheduled a new appointment. The eye exam went well.. The next step to pick out the glasses, that was a little long.. I always order two pair of glasses. The young lady that help me could used some more training on the right fit, after waiting tow weeks they call to tell me they are in. I get there I try them on the bifocals was in the wrong spot, they ordered me different lines. The bad part is the other pair was not ready I had to wait another two and half weeks for both pair.. My experience with Stanton Optical was as goofy as their commercials. Beginning positive, I found them to be forwardly questionable. They do not make much effort to hide who they are.... Customer service call for appointment was a local number, routed to who knows where. Said Florida. Similar to trying to translate 'mouthful of marbles Arabic', into English, perhaps. Simply, it was difficult to communicate. Multiple calls proved consistent.. KICKER.... Human eye doctors onsite. Well they do, but just on Weekends. 2/7 of the time, in Tulsa, as I was told. My loved ones eye health is too important to me to justify a two sevenths approach. The eye health failures, blindness, etc.., will be REAL, not VIRTUAL. Now they DID NOT tell this openly, I questioned it out of them. Boy would I have been upset to have shown up to figure it out then, the hard way. I cancelled the appointment, grateful for the cheap lesson. They will tell you, 'you will be seen by and talking to a real doctor', as they tried to convince me....its a TV folks. Is TV rain, real rain??? May as well be WATSON, or some AI program for all I know. Made an appointment for me and my elderly father specifically to see the doctor (as a medical student I know that the telehealth exams are reckless - one of these telehealth doctors at Stanton Optical once missed a cancerous tumor, and I saw a guy pass away on my neurology rotation because of it). The place triple books their appointment slots, so amongst the pandemic and social distancing guidelines the place was packed. Our appointment was at 11:30 and was finally called in at 1:20. Once we were finally taken to the clinic we were told that only telehealth was available for one of the appointments. What a terrible experience!! The only reason I gave this place a shot was because they offered a deal on their website for contacts + exam... only to be looked at like a complete idiot when I asked about it. They just kept brushing it off until I had already paid for an overpriced exam and then wanted to charge me full price for contacts. What was the point? I would have just gone back to my regular eye place. Regardless, the place was extremely unprofessional. The girls in the exam area couldn't get of their phones or pause their loud and inappropriate conversation long enough to help out. No one really seemed to have a clue. No one bothered to sanitize the equipment before or after I used it. The place was just cheap and kinda gross. As I am standing there paying for my overpriced exam. The 'Sales Manager' came over and interrupted my discussion with the front desk girl to tell her it was slow and they needed more business. And then to follow up with telling me the deal online was pretty much worthless and wanted to charge me full price for contacts. One guy did try to step in and help but ended up being a smart ass. So needless to say I did not spend anymore money there and purchased my contacts from my regular place. YOUR EXAM WILL BE DONE BY A DOCTOR IN INDIA THROUGH A VIDEO FEED! I could barely understand the guy. The prescription he gave me was too strong. I told the tech that it wasn't right as soon as I put my trial contacts in. She asks me if they are on right. I've been wearing contacts since I was 12... I know the difference between the prescription being off and the contact not being put in right. I had to come back on Saturday to see the actual in-house doctor. She was very nice and got my script right. Nobody except the doctor I saw in person acted like they knew what they were doing at all. They don't explain anything to you ahead of time. They shuffle you around a lot and expect you to know where to go without them clearly telling you. The guy on the glasses side was very nice and helpful but didn't really know what he was doing either. I REALLY wish I had not wasted my yearly exam on this place. read more

They had people walk in with no appointment and some how were seen before me. To top that I was told their prices are cheaper than 1-800-contacts so I waited another 45 minutes for the person to tell me the price which was $70 MORE than 1-800-contacts and then they wouldn't even match the price. The customer service was awful. There's a young lady working the counter on Saturday, that does not like black people or anyone that's not white. She only greets white people and quickly says "do you have an appointment?", to the not white customers. A gentle man came in to be seen and was told that maybe he should come back at 6pm. Just a few minutes later a white woman came in and was told to wait to be seen. And no she did not have an appointment. You think you will be seen by an optometrist but it's a person in a call center over seas giving you an exam. After the exam, you walk next door where there is no order just madness. There was one young man that works there with very bad acne was very sarcastic when I asked if there was a number system. I will never go back to Stanton optical in Tulsa OK. I wouldn't even give them a star review. Cheap suits and fast talkers, and poor service. Initially it took me over a month and a half to get a pair of glasses. To call the store you seemingly have to go through some off shore tele company that barely speak English. It took 5 times to even get any communication about my glasses. There is no local number. My lense popped out of the frame and it took 15 minutes to even get to me because as customers come in they take care of them instead of putting priority on the previous customers that were first. As a peace offering they did give me one new pair of glasses for free. Did not reimburse me for four trips over there but, they seem to be finally the right prescription. Worse customer service ever, and bad quality frames. My husband got two pairs of glasses here, one of them broke within a month of getting them. He still had the other pair so we didn't worried too much. I came into the store to order another frame, they said it would take about a week and that they'll call. They never called, so three weeks later I called them and asked about the frames, they didn't have them and said they would call. Two months later (without having received their call), the other pair of glasses broke so I came into the store to see if they had the frames and told them I had ordered them two months ago, their reply was, "take a seat and wait, we are busy right now (only one person waiting)". I asked them if they could at least check if they had the frames, and the reply I received was, "there's a possibility we do and there's a possibility we don't, you'll have to wait". This is SUCH a lying, rip-off type place. I will never go back and I've told my friends to not bother. After telling them my experience, several told me they had already gone and were sorry they went too. "Remote" exam by not even a real doctor, ill fitting glasses, and because it was remote (video) they had to do several exams and still didn't get them right. I tried using my glasses (I stupidly bought several pairs) for several months, and ended up going to a decent 'real' eye doctor. Big difference. Reading online reviews written by actual former employees, I read the company teaches their people to lie to you and say anything you want to hear.
