Empire Optical has been our eyeglass store for at least 30 years. They have never disappointed us! Both my husband and I love their choice of glass and even more how they take care of us after the glasses are made. My husband's disability took him to a wheelchair while he was in his 50's. Getting him in and out of the vehicle became more difficult so the staff readily agreed to come out to our van to fix his eyeglasses when they need adjustment (which is probably every 2-3 months!) Recently, Kayla has been the "runner" and has taken care of his glasses. She didn't mind the extra effort and was so sweet to both of us while she did the repair. I didn't even need an eye exam or new frames; I just needed to get my favorite pair of glasses fixed, and Empire Optical did it so easily and for free! As soon as you walk in, you're met with a massive selection of beautiful frames, and what I think is super unique about their store is that they're pet-friendly! They had two dogs, Elton and Bowie, wandering around while you shop, and they're so sweet. Went to empire optical today. Walked in wearing my glasses but one side of them was very delicate because I had stepped on them. The last said if the hinges weren't broken she could fix them. They were not. She took them apart then brought me two ear pieces from other regular glasses and said she could replace my Gucci ones with those. She said they cannot be fixed. That's not what she said first. Then she handed my glasses to me in pieces. I can't even wear them at all now. So don't buy Gucci frames and don't go to empire optical for repairs. read more

I highly recommend this place!! I had two pairs of sunglasses that needed to be fixed (one the glass popped out and the other was missing temple). I was in town for business purposes, and in one of my finer moments, I sat on my glasses accidentally and popped a lens out, bent the frame and blew out a lens holder. I visited Empire Optical and Kayla took one look and said "oh no worries, I can repair that!" And repair she did!! I thought my glasses were goners and I'd just have to squint for the rest of my business trip. Fortunately, Kayla repaired my glasses, made sure they were adjusted to fit my face and to top it all off...the repair service she performed was no cost. I have been a fan of Empire for several years - they are my go-to place for sunglasses. They recently completed a new building so their new space is roomy and well-lit, both from the lights and the natural outside sunlight. Spaced over a couple of years, I have worked with Pamela - super friendly and very knowledgeable. She wanted me to like my sunglasses choice, not just be ok with them. Had to order the style because they only carried 4 styles of Coach sunglasses - they arrived in less than a week. She made a couple of adjustments and I went on my way! This was a few years ago. Went in last Thur 8/15 to reorder the same paid since I sat on my glasses and sort of smooshed them. I was able to bend them back but definitely wanted another pair since the lenses were also scratched up. She called their vendor who sadly informed us that Coach no longer made that style but advised several other similar styles. Pam ordered a couple of styles so I could try them on. My face is very wide so it's hard to find sunglasses that fit my face well without them looking very masculine. They called today to inform me that the sunglasses arrived so I could swing by and try them out to pick out the pair that I like best, as well as fits me best. I also picked up a pair of Ralph Lauren since all sunglasses are $50 off for the summer. If you need new sunglasses, this is the time to shop, especially if you have a FSA card. :) read more

This place is a gem, stopped in looking for glasses and was pretty unsure of what I wanted. The team of Sage, Lynne and Pam guided me thru the process of narrowing down the size, shape and color and helped me find the perfect pair. I was asked to be helped within a minute of my arrival. The staff, namely Sage, was very knowledgeable, and the selection of my glasses was a collaboration between the two of us, for which I am most grateful. Everything seems expensive these days, but what I needed was $1.490 from an on line vendor, so I went to Empire and received more total features, at no extra cost to me (like blue light filter) for a grand total of $970!! They are still pretty nice and helpful people. Big selection of frames, most in the higher end in cost. They will be moving to the new strip center they are building beside and behind the current location. Their repair person has been there a long time and is always fast and efficient. Currently they don't take Community Care insurance, so they gave me a 10% discount. They are expensive, but service is fantastic on repairs. read more

EVERY time I go here the staff is amazing (my joke is because my glasses, clear and shades, must be just right due to my severe eye sight issues they will hate me) but without fail the people have gone out of their way to make sure my glasses are just what I needed. This time was no exception and the sales person Pam went out of her way to ensure that she did everything to make my glasses what they needed to be. I came here years ago, but at that time they didn't file insurance. I heard they now take insurance so I decided to see if I could find some new glasses. When you walk in it kind of feels like an old timey places with frames everywhere. I hate eyeglass shopping as it always so hard for me to find the right fit. I was greeted immediately and she began the search with me for the perfect pair. There was a nice selection with varying price ranges. She explained all the options with the lenses and I placed my order. It did take longer to get my glasses as I ordered progressives so I can't speak to normal turnaround. When they came in, I was sent to the back and a sweet gentleman explained getting used to progressives and made necessary adjustments. He said to come in anytime for adjustments if needed. Have needed new prescription glasses for about 3 years but kept putting it off. I was SO excited that Empire Optical remained open during this time. It was my first time to go to Empire...I walked in with my mask on and was so happy to see all the staff was also wearing masks. Doreen greeted me immediately and made me feel at home. Carol is beyond wonderful. I am a senior. I bought glasses frames that blend into my face......as they do the furniture when I take them off. Needless to say, I SAT on them. Assuming it was a permanent condition but hoping that it wasn't, off to Empire optical and Carol I go. Very nice, quiet spoken Carol advised me that it might not work. BUT, with her gentle expert hands she returned the stem from its' 180 degree deviation to its' original place. She saved the day and was kind and generous to boot. (I was giving myself quite a talk doing something so stupid). And to boot, as I was walking out another kind lady (really wish I had gotten her name) gave me a wonderful tip. As the glasses are hard to see when off, try painting the end of the stem with red fingernail polish. You couldn't see when on the head hidden in the hair but could see when off. So simple yet such an important tip. These two people are why my husband and I have gone to Empire Optical for decades as have our children. We would never going anyplace else. Empire Optical was a huge help! I didn't own glasses, and had only worn contacts for 17 years. I was needing to come out of contacts for two full weeks prior to a cataract work up. They got me in glasses the same day, that were affordable and cute. Mandy was awesome! I have to say, everyone that works there was wonderful. Very friendly and so glad to help. I was in great hands. I am ready for my workup and though the glasses did take some getting used to, I went back in for a slight nose piece adjustment, they had me go straight to the back and it was free of charge. Empire Optical is my favorite store in the country to go to for new glasses. I spent quite a bit of money on a pair of prescription glasses at a store in New York City, and they were unable to make them fit properly, so I went to Empire, and they made a new pair for me at a fraction of the price. I dropped into the store for the first time today with a badly bent frame that I hadn't bought at Empire. Evie, one of the technicians, worked on it for 15-20 minutes, carefully getting it sit level on my face. I was unable to convince Maryann Hargrove that the prescription and fit of the glasses they made was incorrect. My eye doctor checked them and the right eye was blurry and both far sight and near sight were off...Even then she accused me of telling the Eye Doctor this and the glasses were fine. I am not recommending this place of course but will advise the clients I know of my experience. .You have lost 2 clients so far. This took three trips and 8 hours of my time. Maryann Hargrove told me that she didn't need to check my vision with the glasses as she thought I didn't like her and just didn't trust her. After I brought the glasses back with the eye doctor's letter she advised me I was the meanest person she knew...Sad testimony....And no room for her being wrong, just mad because I couldn't see and was understandably upset. She also advised me she was one of the four top Optcians in OK and owned the store in answer to my request to check the glasses and my limited vision in them. read more
