I went to Black Optical to see if they could help me with some adjustments on a pair of Maui Jim Perico that I had purchased somewhere else. The sunglasses were a bit snug and uncomfortable on me, Tristan was there working along with the owner. After a bit of discussion on what might be the issue, Tristan went to work, the end result worked out perfectly. They wouldn't let me pay, so I could only offer my gratitude. The best retail experience I've ever had. I've literally told other people about this experience who will never be in Tulsa or buy glasses. When I first came to Black Optical a couple years ago, they were extremely patient and helped me find glasses I was truly excited to wear. I have gotten dozens if not hundreds of complements on them since, and this isn't even the best part of the experience! What really separates this store from all others, at least that I've visited, is the care with which the employees and owner treat the customers. They offer free adjustments, and the couple times I've come back to get my pair adjusted they've remembered my name and what college I go to, and generally have treated me like family. I pop into Black Optical all the time to check out new frames and chat with the supremely knowledgeable sales team at the shop. They'll adjust my frames and show me the latest specs to save up for. The Black Optical experience doesn't come cheap but it is totally worth it. Perhaps most importantly, Black Optical is incredibly generous. They're committed to many important causes in Tulsa and go beyond donating by showing up at many events. The team is an integral part of the community. Next time you're in the market for some chic new eye wear, make the investment in a pair of Black Optical glasses. Feel like a million bucks from the moment you decide to go into Black Optical. Walking in feels like being in a James Bond movie with high style in every nook. The modern and sleek storefront is set to impress on beautiful Brookside. There are over 700 sunglasses and glasses too choose from, but not in an overwhelming way. The staff is kind and will direct you to finding your perfect pair quickly but not in a pressure-to-buy way. Prices range from $240 to up to $3,000 for your best specs. Most of the pairs I saw were around the $300 price point which is excellent for a local business that sells independent brands. It is quite evident effort is put into selecting each pair of glasses in the store. Every frame I tried on had a wow factor and a story of where it came from. It is convenient that they are happy to fill the glasses with your prescription before you conquer the world in them. I feel quite confident in my new specs today and already feel more James Bond-ish. read more
