Here's the main problem. I made an appointment with Dr. West for an eye exam for CONTACTS. After…read moreasking him before he started the exam to make sure it was for contacts he straight up told me that eye exams for glasses and contacts were the same thing (should've been the first red flag that he wasn't gonna do what I asked and that he was scamming me, but I was tired and naive so I trusted his word) and ended up giving me a prescription for glasses. I was told over the phone twice that the price would be around $80, but instead was charged $95. Another thing I noticed was the wait time. I came an hour early to my appointment since I was driving straight from Norman to South Tulsa Optical and had everything filled and done, but I still ended up waiting 20 min past my appointment time when another lady, who came in the same time as me and was filling out papers too, was taken in by the doctor in less than 5 minutes just after turning in all her papers. Honestly the whole experience while in the office was not at all bad, but just the aftermath is what did it for me and straight up was a scam.

I am so, so, so pleased with my visit to Dr. West today. I've gone through more optometrists than I…read morecan count because 1) they wouldn't listen to me and I left the office with a prescription that never felt right and 2) their office was discourteous and 3) I would get random charges to my insurance for things I didn't ask for or wasn't advised would be additional to my yearly exam! Noooo thank you! So I found Dr. West's office from my insurance provider's web page. I am so glad I did. The staff was incredibly friendly and got me in within the week. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile. Even though I was a first time patient, I only waited 10 minutes to see the doctor, even with form filling, insurance stuff, etc. When I got back there, Dr. West was so happy and friendly, his attitude was infectious. But most importantly, Dr. West REALLY took the time to listen to me, issues I'd been having, etc. Dr. West is the ONLY optometrist I've had in my almost 15+ years of wearing glasses and contacts whose listened, and because he did we discovered why my contacts were getting dry and bothering my eyes. Shocking! Dr. West went through several possible options of what could be causing my blurry vision until he figured it out, and not once did he make me feel rushed. He sat with me, answered all my questions, and was incredibly friendly and jovial. I can't believe it took me this long to find someone as kind and professional as Dr. West but I am so glad I did.
