I've made two separate sunglasses purchases here about a year or two apart. The first time I visited, I was the only one there and customer service was stellar (obviously). The second purchase I made (b/c I had a 20% coupon by mail), they were super busy with three people working and with customers. As I patiently waited, one of the staff kept checking in with me and assuring me it wouldn't be much longer. I observed her going to uber customer service status with an older customer that was a bit needy. I was impressed. I've been a Hicks Brunson customer for years and always been satisfied. About two and a half years ago I bought new frames and lenses because my prescription had changed. After a while I couldn't seem to get the smudges off my lenses. Went back in and seems I had crazing on my lenses. A part of the coating was rubbing off. I thought I'd have to wear them till my eyesight changed and I needed new glasses again. But Daniel called me and told me how much they value their customers and never want to lose one. My two year warranty had expired but Daniel made it right. I got new in smudged lenses at no cost. They didn't have to do that but Hicks Brunson does value their customers. For years I was getting my glasses and prescription filled by my optometrist thinking that that was the best way to go. However year after year it just kept getting so expensive and I felt that she was over charging me. Well, I finally decided to give Hicks Brunson a try since I live right near Utica Square. Great family owned and operated place. Great selection of cool frames. They only take one kind of insurance (not mine), and they can be pricey but the service is unmatched. My glasses were taking a little longer than expected and they literally made me a "backup" pair at no extra cost so I would have something to wear (my old pair got broken and were being held together with super glue)! I was in town visiting my father who had received a new pair of eyeglasses from the VA via the mail. He is house bound and needed to have them fitted to keep them from falling down his nose. While in Utica Square, I went in Hicks Brunson to see if they had nose pads or something to keep the glasses in place. Rick Brunson , the owner listened to my dilemma and told me to take pictures of my Dad wearing the glasses from several angles and bring them in and he would work on them. For Free! I brought them in and he made some adjustments and my Dad is very happy and wearing his new glasses. What an extraordinarily kind thing to do!! Growing up I got my first glasses at Hicks Brunson . Awesome family owned eyewear business. I cannot say enough about the professionalism. I have been using them around 12 years. My husband and I get all of our glasses from them. I have 2 little granddaughters that get their glasses there also. Let's just say little ones are rough on glasses. These people have taken care of the damage way beyond what is called for. My husband and one of my sons (6 years old) ended up in Hicks Brunson the day after Christmas because the electric helicopter that he had begged for, been on his best behavior for, and giddily received from Santa the morning before... had broken. He was in full-on tears. Under inspection, it became clear that a tiny screw had gone missing. It reminded me of screws from the hinge in sunglasses. The only place I could think of to repair it was an eyeglass store, so I called the nearest one, Hicks Brunson, and sent my husband and kiddo there, anxiously hoping they had the right screw. They didn't have an exact match, but they popped into the back of their store and made one. That's right... they made one! Wow! My husband said that my son thinks the workers there must be elves and is sure that their "workshop" in the back is magical. Apparently, my son even checked one of the employees for elf ears. So... while I don't wear glasses and no one in my family currently does, I can assure you that when we need them (and we will), this is the store we'll all be going to! Anyone who can be so kind, understanding and attentive to a broken-hearted little boy has not only won my business... they have also won my heart.
