I needed new glasses, but really couldn't afford them. I was told Stanton had great prices, so I went down to check them out. OMG.....enter Baylee. She understood my needs, worked all the different promotions to find me the best pair that fit all of my needs, especially affordability! Stop in if you need a pair of glasses (or 2) and say hi to my new best friend, Baylee! read more

Love this place. It's always clean and they greet and acknowlege you as soon as you walk in the door. The wait time is not long at all and the staff go over and beyond to make sure that all your eye care needs are met. Dr Tonnu is amazing. She's personable and is very knowledgeable. I don't plan on going anywhere else after my experience with this location. I had to return because my eyesglasses just weren't right And Destiny fixed the problem, which wasn't even their fault. read more

If you actually care about your eye health you will stay clear of Stanton Optical, or at the very least the one in Santee! I recently went in because it was convenient to get an appointment, and the convenience stopped right there! When I showed up for my appointment it was a circus, highly disorganized and nobody seemed to know what was going on! When I finally got in for my exam, I had a very brief screening and was told they would get me fitted for contacts. Even though the doctor told me I had astigmatism he said he was going to give me standard contacts to try first. I tried them on and immediately told the optician (would be better titled as a salesman here) that my vision was blurry and they were uncomfortable... however I was told repeatedly that it was normal and that I needed to go ahead and order my 1 year supply of contacts so they would be in before my trial pair expired. I questioned this, asking why I would need to order a 1 year supply when we didn't even know if the trial pair was the right one, especially since they didn't feel right. They eventually sent me back in to see the doctor who told me they would probably just be like that for a few days, and that I needed to give them a week!!! After about 24 hours I couldn't take it anymore, so I went back in and was eventually able to see a different doctor, who told me I should have never been given the standard lenses, he changed my prescription to astigmatism, and gave me a trial pair. When I put them in, they were better than the first pair, but still not great, and when the doc was talking to me about it, he said it was because they didn't have my prescription strength in a trial, so he gave me something close, and that it should be better when I got the ones I ordered... again a 1 year supply when I didn't feel good with the trial! When I realized how uncomfortable it was to have the wrong prescription, I called and asked to have my order cancelled, I got put on hold for a significant amount of time, then a "general manager" came on the phone and offered to help, saying "since you aren't adjusting well to contacts, let's get you into some glasses" he was never fully able to understand that I hadn't had the opportunity to see if I could adjust to contacts because they had yet to get me the right ones to try!! I insisted to have my order cancelled, he told me he had to get approval to do it, and would call me back within 20 minutes... 7 hours later he left me a voicemail, saying his hands were tied and he couldn't refund my money, but if I wanted to come back in he could get me glasses! I called the corporate complaint line and filed a complaint, at which time I was told I could get a full refund, I just needed to call back and speak to the manager... I called back and the same person told me he could refund my money, but he was a brand new general manager and he wanted the opportunity to earn my business, he offered me a free pair of prescription sunglasses if I would come back in and give it another try. I explained to him that every time I had been in, it took HOURS to get things done, and that I didn't have time to waste yet another day in that store. He told me if I would come back in he would personally ensure that I didn't have to wait and would be taken care of right away, I reluctantly agreed and went back in at our agreed upon time the next day... I checked in and was asked to take a seat. I sat there for 20 minutes and the eye doctor never even showed up.... I insisted on, and received my refund....and went to another eye doctor... the real kicker of this story is that when I went to my new highly rated eye doctor, he did a thorough screening, and the prescription he determined I needed was significantly different than that of Stanton optical! My new eye doctor also ran my insurance, and I actually had much higher coverage than Stanton optical quoted me... and was charging me the difference out of pocket when it was actually covered by my plan! I must repeat, if you care about your vision, don't go here! The opticians are just salesman who work on commission, and only care about selling, they care nothing about your vision, and are terrible at customer service! Save yourselves a lot of headache and go elsewhere! read more

Awesome service! The doctor was patient and answered all of my questions. The staff helped me pick the right frames that look great. The place also had great deals on the exam and frames.... read more

UPDATE! Well we are into this now 4 months, yes 120+ days. Manager called and my phone says they are spam/scan call and I let it go to Email. I think my phone had it correct from the start. She left a message and I did return a call and as usual she was in a meeting. I texted her back and requested my prescription. How hard can it be? Could not be any easier than that! STILL NO PRESCRIPTION!1111...... So if you enjoy this type of treatment please let this horrid company ABUSE YOU! read more

I have never had such an unprofessional experience as a new client ever! I made an appt for 5:45pm and showed up at 5:45pm and was told they could no longer take me and that I needed to reschedule. Even though I was there at that time! They rescheduled me for Monday morning but I called back and told them how unprofessional my experience was as a new client and how rude it was for them to do that. I canceled my appt and will not be going back and will let all my family, friends, and clients know how terrible their customer service is. read more

I have a few things to say, Firstly, a few associates did amazingly well and I appreciated their service, since my partner had been having issue with what's been happening with his vision. Currently, i want to thank Amenah and Mariela as well as the purple haired employee who helped us out, they were amazing and even helped us to get fixed and remade glasses with better prescriptions at no cost. Secondly, I want to thank the doctors for helping out my partner and helping him to find a balance between his glasses and why the anti glare stuff was so important and why he had issues with night driving, especially doctor Tonnu (?) and Rosa. Thirdly, I have a complaint. Destinee was energetic, which isn't bad, but she was spastic and unhinged. She called my partner a "sensitive little man," because of his prescription, which pissed me off. I can't ever imagine how someone would think it's ok to even say that, nonetheless act so immaturely. She makes annoying animal sounds intermittently between speech, I've seen her popping zits in public, and it's just unprofessional and disgusting. I give it a 4 out of five, because there was more bad than good, but I honestly have no idea what's happening with Destinee read more

Matthew was extremely friendly and eccentric. His bubbly attitude made getting glasses easy. The store offered a variety of glasses as well as sunglasses at a great price. I will definitely be back! read more

I had the most amazing service at Stanton Optical from the time I first entered the door to picking up my new glasses. The entire staff is extremely helpful and highly friendly. Mr. Demetrius was the gentleman that assisted me with my new frames. He provided excellent critique and warm feedback on the hundreds of frames I tried on. Stanton is new to Santee, located by the Walgreens & Sprouts. They have an impressive selection of frames and knowledge staff working there. I did t feel the high pressure sales pitch that I normally receive at other optical stores. If you're looking for new glasses, I highly recommend Stanton Optical. read more

This place is a total SCAM. If you think you're going to pay 69.00 for an exam and two eye glasses, you are sorely mistaken. This place will scam you in to spending hundreds. Not only that, you can go in and wait hours, not because people are there and keeping them busy, but because they're too lazy to help you. You cannot call them on the phone - recording will not allow you to do that. I posted on nextdoor.com about this place - you need to go there and read the reviews from others in the neighborhood. Not ONE will recommend them. It isn't just me. And if you're not a member of nextdoor.com, you need to be to keep up on what's happening in your neighborhood. Stay away from this place. read more

I have had the best experience with this place. Destiny, one of the opticians is amazing and really went above and beyond to help me get comfortable wearing contacts. She gave me a few different brands to try and really helped me understand what makes each of them different. I was finally able to find lenses that's i can wear comfortably! I would highly recommend this location for professional, personalized service. read more

My husband and I were going out of town in less than two weeks and he desperately needed a new pair of glasses. We went to Stanton Optical in Santee where Amenah help through the process. She was so kind, knowledgeable and professional. We weren't sure if his glasses would be ready before we left but Amenah came through for us and we received the glasses in one week. Baylee help us when we came to pick them up and we received excellent customer service from her. I recommend Stanton Optical to everyone. They are very professional and their prices and products are great. Thank you Amenah and Baylee. read more

Really really bad experience when it was time for me to do the purchase. First of all I was told it was buy one get one FREE . So what are you thinking ? You are buying one getting one free plus the -$50 for the evaluation exam. Because it saids free eye exam but they do charge you a $50 dollar fee up front which it'll apply to your eye glasses IF YOU PURCHASE FROM THEM . Anyway I was ok with that , got eye exam done. And then I had a salesman attack me right away into looking at glasses following me the whole time without giving me my space to look comfortable . I was still ok because is his job right ? Anyway I choose two glasses. When it came time to get my total he said $475 ( each glass was under $100 ! What the f** ) The buy one get one free ? I'm confused how did it added up so much ? Well the salesman does not explain to you that you are only paying for the glass frame not the lenses. The Lenses are like 300 each freaking insane. Then he gets a manager to tell me I could pay only $150 really ? Hell no never going to location again. Is not about the price is about being honest with the customer up front and not wasting my time. I was there 2 damn hours. read more

By far one of the best staff in San Diego super polite and helpful was able to be in and out and loved the glasses they not only helped me choose but prepared in a timely manner ive got two pairs of glasses from this location and love them big thumbs upppp to the staff :)) read more

Recommend highly! Nick helped fit me for frames today. He was fabulous. He presented me with several appropriate frame options for my specific prescription. It helped to narrow it down and made the choice so much easier. He compared my insurance to their current promotion to find me the most affordable option, and their deal was better! He showed myself and wife how to read the numbers inside the frame to discover what fit is best for us. He adjusted some old frames for my wife that hadn't worked for her and she now loves the glasses. He went above and beyond- excellent customer service! read more

I give it a zero. Took over month to get my contacts. First they couldn't find my glasses. That took 3 weeks! Called me over 6 times to say they are ready. Then they couldn't find them. Next was my contacts. 1 month. Doctors are great! I'll leave it at that. I'll never go back and never recommend this location to anybody. Don't go!!! read more

Worst customer service ever! I can't leave no stars! Scheduled an appointment for 9:10, waited until 9:30. I filled out a questionnaire stating I wore contacts. They called me back & never asked if I had a contact in. I was super pleased with the service I received here. Dr. Tonnu was personable, knowledgable and had great tips for adjusting to my new bifocals. Thank you Destinee, Jonathan and Jaydee! read more

I got my glasses here and was pretty happy with service and speed. Not so happy with price based on the window sticker claiming 2 pairs for $69.... that is a bait and switch but still the glasses really helped. I had an issue with the glasses sliding off my face when I looked down and so I dropped in. Lucas instantly made adjustments and now my glasses fit like they should. Expect to pay more than the window sticker but you will get great service and quickly have your glasses. read more

After more than 30 days and two attempts to correctly fill my prescription the two pairs ordered were finally ready. Asked to get the stanton optical CEO to call so i could talk about my experience. So far no call or interest. This place is terrible. DO NOT USE. The people just want a sale and do not truly care about it customers. It is all about the money. Worst experience ever . Two pair of glasses supposed to be ready by Feb. 2 2020. Went there today only 1 pair ready. The other pair was routed from another Dist. Center??? They will call me when they come in. By the way $59.95 for 2 pair of glasses and a free eye exam BS....It depends on your presription. Mine was over$500. Y0u get a little cheap glass case and if you want glass cleaner you have to pay for it read more

Guess the third time is the charm because that is how many places I went to before finding frames I liked. Of course part of that was due to the help of Amenah at Stanton's Santee location. At other places an employee would approach, show me 2 or 3 frames they thought I would like then go on to something else as I looked. This did not happen with Amenah, she was willing to take all the time necessary to help me find something I really liked. If I told her I didn't like a color or style she remembered that and suggested something on the order of what I was looking for. She kept handing me frames to see if I liked them but she would also tell me if she thought they were not right for me or if another looked better. It's always nice to have another opinion so I appreciated that. I really don't like shopping and was about ready to just get reading glasses from the drug store but now, with the help of Amenah, I have new glasses with a prescription tailored to my eyes. In addition to great service I also got a great deal on the price, I don't just feel the price was good but know for a fact. A friend recently got glasses -at another business- with the same type of lenses, but only one pair, they used their insurance and paid about the same as I did without insurance for two pairs of glasses. THANK YOU AMENAH! read more

Eye exam was quick and professional. The ordering of glasses, was quick and simple. HOWEVER, I'm not so sure how the billing items works out. I paid $59 for exam, which was to be refunded, upon purchase of glasses. Also, had a $25 off coupon, which I showed. Original amount was something over $350... and they asked how I'd like to pay. They seem to have credit, which I didn't want, I was just concerned about the price (two pair of glasses). I said, let me think about.. again, she offered he different paying options. I told her, I'd pay using my cc (I get points/credits for purchases). But, I just needed to think about and check the pricing (elsewhere). After, a minute or two, she comes back with, I can give you the friends and family discount, saving me $80+, of course, I'd accept that. So, I paid. And again, my fault, I wasn't given a break down of the cost. Initial cost - (refund of exam + $25 off coupon). I called and they're supposed to send me an email with the total breakdown. read more

Santee Stanton optical team is the BEST! Patricia is so approachable and great at her job!!! Thanks for all u do to keep me seeing!!

This is about the third time I've ordered glasses from Stanton. I can't wait to pick up my three new pair of glasses. I took advantage of the two pair of progressives deal so I can have my "serious" pair and my "fun" pair of everyday glasses and also ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses at the same time. Service and selection is outstanding. I have been customer for 4 years and would recommend to friends and family.

Demetrius was EXTREMELY helpful, I was a little overwhelmed at first because of their selections, they have quite a bit, however be aware that the 2/$69 frame styles are over stock, end of stock and LIMITED; they tell you that while making your appointment. So that being said I thought the place was very warm, comforting, nice to hear music that fits the genre's that I liked. FRIENDLY Staff, very personable... I still thought, in the end they were a little pricey, but Demetrius helped to bring my cost down 50%, can't complain about THAT kind of Savings, plus PROPER glasses for TEENS! read more

Came in for an examination and had Daisy helping me. She was great explaining promotions and helped me pick a perfect frame that felt and looked right. I made an appointment to go into the Santee store. I was greeted promptly and didn't have to wait too long to see the doctor for the eye test. She was so nice and friendly. Then, the associate, Amenah helped me with trying to find some frames as I decided to go with a bigger frame and it was hard trying to make up my mind. Between her and my husband, I found nice frames, I got a pair of sunglasses for my second pair which were polarized and were also bifocals. It turned out to be more than expected, but I am still very pleased with my glasses. Next, we will be bringing my husband in for his. I highly recommend Stanton!! read more

They have large signs all around the building advertising a free exam. They do not honor the free exam, and require you to pay for it. They claim they will apply the amount to a purchase, but what if the exam indicates you don't need glasses? Well then you have to pay. They will also try try to bill your insurance for this supposed free exam. STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND DONT WANT TO REWARD AN UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY. read more
