This is my first review on yelp and this place deserves it, I came here for breakfast with my brother and friend. Just to get to the point the service was phenomenal, by that I mean they were friendly, I was always asked if I needed any service, and my coffee never touched the bottom. Food was great, coffee was fresh. The environment was quiet and very peaceful. The cherry on the too was that today is my bday and they covered my part of the meal. That's how you run a restaurant, make a person feel at home. If the owners or servers read this Thank You! I will come back again. read more

The Reuben were very soggy and the cheese burger came out without cheese. Sent it back and received about a half an ounce on it. The waitress brought out more and was very polite. I wouldn't go back though because the food was mediocre at best. read more

I was really excited to try this place since the reviews were good. It was a busy little place in downtown Ukiah. Were seated promptly and our orders taken, then it went down from there. The food was good, but our daughters food was brought out a good 45 minutes before ours so she was done and waiting by the time we started to eat. We waited a good hour for our food. Our waitress was wonderful and they did make sure our coffee and drinks were always filled as we waited. I just had to give only 3 stars for how unorganized they were. read more

I don't even know where to start. This restaurant is Ukiah's best breakfast by far! The staff is always quick and they're all so polite and pleasant to be around! We come here often with about 6-8 people and there's always a spot for us, we're never crammed in a small table. The Belgian waffle with berries and cream is my favorite item! I discovered Stan & Amy's "Maple Cafe" shortly after they took it over and have been going there ever since... Why? Read on... A friend had told me that they had GENUINE NEW MEXICO GREEN CHILE... (Yes, with an "e", not an "i" and correctly pronounced chee-lay...) Since I had preciously spent 16 plus years in the mountains of Northern New Mexico, and had become pretty-much "addicted" to it's wonderful Green Chile, and now consider myself to be something of a grass-roots connoisseur... (If there is such a thing...) You see, Green Chile, to New Mexicans, is like air... You just gotta have it! My first visit to The Maple was in the morning, so, of course, I tried their Huevos Rancheros, "smothered with Green"... and I can truly tell you that the experience was totally gratifying! Our friendly waitress, "Judy", and service were outstanding, and as unbelievable as it may seem, here was Authentic New Mexico Green Chile right here in Northern California! This was the REAL DEAL! Now if you've never tasted Authentic New Mexico Green Chile before, then it is nothing like you've ever tasted! It has a unique flavor, all its own... Made from the long green peppers grown in the high altitudes of that state... (The mean elevation of New Mexico is 5,700 feet above sea level !) These peppers are highly flavorful and range from mild to hot, but never scorch-your-taste-buds hot, quite unlike the Jalapenos, Serranos and their ilk that come from Mexico... The Green Chiles are cooked with very few other seasonings into a kind of thick, gravy-like "sauce" which is poured over the meal of your choice... (At The Maple, one can request that the Green Chile be served as a "side" so you can add it to suit your taste... You'll likely be wanting more! ) The staff at The Maple are all down to earth and friendly, and very very accommodating! So much so, in fact, that they now make me a special order meal called the El Chamero... A 1/2 pound burger patty, grilled to perfection, served on a platter and smothered in Green Chile with a fried egg on top and with a sprinkling of real cheddar cheese over it! Mmmmmm... ( You'll have to ask for it special as it's not on the menu...) If you're a carnivore it doesn't get any better than this! Oh, and I also ask for their hash browns to go with it, fried extra crispy... If you're not a meat lover, but still would like to try a sampling of their delicious Green Chile, order their "Calabicita" omelette... (Calabicita="Little Squash", in this case yellow crook necks...) It's on the menu... And yes, my wife and I have had this many times too... Stan and Amy come by their Green Chile prowess naturally as they still own a very popular restaurant in Santa Fe called "The Pantry"... (Look up its reviews on Yelp...) I have recommended The Maple to many friends and acquaintances... Many of whom aren't into spicy foods so The Maple's more traditional meals are more to their liking... None have ever gone away from the table hungry... Or disappointed... So if you're looking for a Friendly Home Cooked Meal at a Reasonable Price give The Mape Cafe a try... My boyfriend and I have been to the Maple Cafe multiple times between 11 and 1 (trying to stay away from 2 o'clock as much as possible) and most of the time the service is pretty friendly and quick while being very busy. On Saturday the 5th we came in exactly at one. I already felt bad as it was being only an hour till closing. The women who greeted us was so nice! Then the waitress who took our order came. She was an older heavier set women in a bright green shirt that was just, how do I say this without being so rude? She was just horrible. She cut me off multiple time while I was ordering, yanked my menu away from in front of me without giving me time to even pick it up and hand it to her, and then disappeared with two other customers in the back (not sure what that's about but hey whatever that part didn't bother me.) We didn't see her the rest of our time in. Another girl brought us our order about 35 or 40 minutes later, while the restaurant is pretty bare (slowest I've seen) at this point and it was completely wrong. Our orders usually come out a little wrong but since were not to picky we don't complain but this was just bad. Eithier the cooks ignored everything the waitress wrote or the waitress ignored everything we said. Eithier way it was terrible. I still left a 4$ tip (too much in my opinion for such a bad experience) on a 30$ tab hoping it wouldn't go to the original waitress. I love this restaurant but I have never had such a bad dining experience. Hopefully no one else experiences this because I will sadly no longer be returning. read more

Whenever I am in Ukiah the Maple is a must for breakfast. I always order their Mexican breakfasts (burrito, quesadilla, and huevos rancheros) and it is consistently better than anything I can find in the South Bay. The reason is the amazing red and greed chili sauces that are authentic and super tasty. Also a plus are the super friendly people that work there. Even when they are packed, my water and coffee are always full and people are checking in on you. read more

I'm assuming that most of their reviews come from people who have not eaten much outside of this area. While my girlfriend's pancakes were fine everything else was mediocre at best. I had the "Fresh Corned Beef" where the fresh I can only assume means whatever was leftover from last week's special. Eggs runny, potatoes bland, and for a restaurant with the word maple in its name they charge an extra $1.75 for actual maple syrup! If you've actually eaten good food recently and aren't going to starve to death in the meantime, I'd keep on driving. read more

My family of 5 chose to come to this restaurant for breakfast because literally the other places like the truck stop and even Denny's were so packed and had over a 45 minute wait; there were people waiting outside so I figured the place must be good if people are willing to wait for the food; boy was I wrong! After a wait that was fairly 10 minutes we were seated; and then promptly ignored by about three servers until one finally came over and gave us menus and took our drink order. The food took forever to come, yes they were busy and every table was full, but an almost 45 minute wait for some pancakes and bacon? I was highly annoyed that the only jelly selection they had were weird flavors like orange marmalade, apple, mint, and grape; really??? Where were the favorites like Strawberry and Blackberry? The food was very mediocre and bland, I only ate it because I was famished by the time it came; the servers were really friendly and nice ladies but I think they were overwhelmed. I also noticed a man walking around with a really stern look on his face barking orders at the staff; I thought maybe he was the owner but he was really distracting and would have had me on pins and needles if I worked for him as well. I've been to the Maple a few times; a number of years ago and the food and service was always outstanding. This new ownership they are boasting of should worry more about the chefs and their quality of food they are serving and less about their wait staff and who moved what chairs where. I will NEVER go back to the Maple, I would rather take my chances waiting at the Truck stop. read more

I have been here several times recently for both breakfast and lunch. This is an old fashioned diner/coffee shop with great food. I like the corned beef hash for breakfast. It has real cubed corned beef, home fries, either red or green chili sauce with a couple of eggs on the top. As good as you will find anywhere. The service is prompt and friendly. I always have a full cup of coffee. If you are looking for a great old time place for breakfast or lunch, this is it. read more

Was visiting family for the weekend and this cafe was recommended for a good breakfast. They were extremely busy and we were sat in a small back room. The waitress that was supposed to be serving us took over 20 minutes to take our order since she was more interested in flirting with the group of married men in a table behind us then serving us and another family beside us. Once we did place our order it took another 40 minutes before receiving our meals which were incorrect. Another waitress tried to remedy the situation by bringing the correct food, but then we ended up having to go out front to pay for our meal since neither waitress returned with our ticket. The food was neither good nor bad only average but because of the service I can only give it one star. In 45 years, only the second time I have never left a tip. :( read more

Keeping my review simple: GREAT Coffee!!! Pay zero attention to other coffee reviewer's criticisms! This coffee rates with some of the best I've had. If you love PERFECT coffee, come here and enjoy it. If you love battery acid from decommissioned nuclear reactors, this is not a coffee for your harsh appetite. It's smooth, silky and definitely fresh roasted. GREAT BREAKFAST!!! Loved my eggs, hashed brown potatoes and perfectly cooked bacon. Great red salsa (I'm a salsa and spice expert--yes, really). I'd have given Maple Cafe an extra half star for their friendly service, if it was possible, but alas it's limited to just five stars. Breakfast is worth coming back for again... and again. My boyfriend and I went in for breakfast a few weeks ago, it was busy and extremely loud that we couldn't even hear each other and we were sitting next to each other, besides that and being brought the wrong order and waiting a extra 10 minutes the food was delicious. The waitresses, meh, she got very upset that I acknowledge my order was wrong and tried to tell me that's what I ordered when she didn't even take the order..!! Came for breakfast on Christmas Eve. The place was packed and it had a good vibe. My husband's family is from Ukiah and about 3 different people came up to our table and greeted us, so it's definitely a "place where every body know your name." The food took forever to come out and it was all on the lukewarm side. Probably because it was so packed with big families having breakfast. We were hungry and everyone got eaten so it was fine. WOW ! what a find. We were at the end of a weekend stay in Nice, and decided to go to Ukiah for a late breakfast on our way home. Very good choice! Their gluten free choices are many and great tasting, especially the Belgin Waffles! Omelet was perfect, coffee good and hot, and a great fruit salad! Couldn't ask for anything better. My husband and I stopped in to get some breakfast real quick on our road trip on the way to the Redwoods. So glad we stopped in and checked it out! The food was delicious - I had the specialty of that day, an omelet with bacon, asparagus and some other goodness, with homemade biscuits on the side. My husband had the country friend steak and gulped it all down as it was very delicious. The staff were all very friendly, all rotating around to different tables and stopping in and chatting with the locals. Great food, great atmosphere, great service and the restrooms were very clean which is always a plus! :) read more
