(4) The menu states prices for a 6 ounce pour, but no pre-measured mini-carafe is used for wines poured directly from the bottle (this is a simple, but profoundly impactful upgrade for the customers of wine bars). He actually took the time to chat with me, listened to what I liked, and helped me find exactly the right wine no pressure, just genuine advice. Seriously, it felt like having a friend guide me through the shelves and I went home with just the right flavor of wine. And now to the prices. Shockingly good. You get amazing quality without having to empty your wallet. The vibe is cool, chill, and totally unpretentious, perfect for kicking back with a glass and soaking in that Mendocino magic. You can open any bottle for retail + $10 corkage, which is a nice option if you want to share a bottle or two among friends. They have a small selection of bites--marinated olives come with each corkage paid--mainly cheese and charcuterie focused, however when the Cafe is open, it's possible to order a small selection of bites from the Cafe as well, which is a really cool option. I heard if the cafe is a bit slow, they'll even allow ordering off the full menu. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We'll definitely pop in again on our next trip out to the coast.

Our favorites were: + Broiled oysters with bone marrow butter, Parmesan crema, and breadcrumb: although I'm not usually a huge fan of oysters, I did enjoy these particular ones! + Lemon cream pie with tangerine, lemon curd, brown butter graham, citrus marigold Chantilly: we split one slice of this pie, but I could've eaten a few more slices of the pie by myself (if my stomach had space left).
