I just stopped at a local café here in Ukiah and sat at a cute little bar for breakfast while traveling through town. Samantha who waited on me was an absolute doll. She knows all of her regulars by name and is genuinely attentive to each customer without missing a beat which gave the whole place a really welcoming small town feel. Thank you Samantha for such kind and attentive service. The food was really good too simple fresh and exactly what I needed to start the day off right. Bleh! I was excited to go to this cute lil cafe in Ukiah for breakfast this morning but was disappointed. The decor is basic, obviously all bought from hobby lobby. IMO the sign outside and the barstools are the only cute thing about this cafe. The service was good, the waitress was attentive even though she was very busy. The food is what disappointed me the most, I thought the quality was not worth the price. Nowadays you can barely get any sit down meal for cheap so I wasn't mad at the price ($20 combos) but the food was simply mediocre. I ordered a light breakfast of two eggs over easy and hash-brows, coffee (no meat) . Eggs were good, hash-browns were greasy. Tab came to $21 dollars which in my world is crazy expensive. Waitress was very pleasant and quick with coffee refills so I left a nice tip. read more

It used to be a favorite spot for breakfast on the weekends. However today I was extremely disappointed with the food. I understand the waitress doesn't cook the food however, I would hope that they take a look at the plate before they serve it. I ordered sausage and eggs with crispy hash browns and whole wheat toast eggs over medium. This is a normal level place set in a typical ukiah location. So, simply, nothing special. The food is ok, kind of like Denny's. The service is a bit weird as some of the waitresses give zero fu*ks about fair and honest service. Some just cater to their favorite diners (friends, lovers, family) while giving others very poor and limited service. Not all of them though, which is their saving grace. An old-timer friend of mine told me this place used to have the best chicken-fried steak he had ever had, years ago. Turns out..... this is the best chicken-fried steak I've ever had.
