Was in a weekend trip to Ukiah and ate here on Sunday morning. I was blown away! They have gluten free pancakes and gluten free French toast! Talked with waitress who told me about these things and she also said they had GF bread. Went back Monday late morning and had a Rueben sandwich. OMG. It was so delicious. Everything we had was delicious. The staff was amazing and so friendly. And they allow small dogs in the restaurant! Would drive back from the Bay Area just to go to this diner. read more

I am so glad that I trusted the reviews here and dropped by after my hot yoga class for my brunch.... I think I had the best omelet in my life here! They are a straightforward cafe. Not fancy but cozy, clean and comfortable. Comes with their own parking in the back and plenty of street parking around. I, with my trusted AI, heavily customized my omelets. I got their coffee (they don't serve fancy caffeine drinks). Their coffee is solid! Not bitter and not sour. With a good body and complex layers. I was shocked. Yum! Then here comes my omelet! Like a gift from heaven. It has the good old taste that Michelin star restaurants could never serve. The flavors... wow! Even the toast came out perfectly toasted with just the right amount of butter. The fruit side was sweet. Service was awesome! She is friendly, efficient, and knows the locals very well. We were excited although not wowed by our visit. It was crowded on Saturday morning with no problem being seated right away. Service was quick, pleasant and attentive. Breakfast wasn't remarkable. I expected my scramble to have two eggs but I'm pretty sure they skimped on them. The coffee server was very friendly and always passing by and asking if we wanted coffee. It was nice at first but then it became an every 30 second annoyance. We couldn't help but laugh. They had a good amount of seating. I'm thinking we just didn't order the right items. We found the food to be very good in this small, bustling cafe in downtown Ukiah. I had a BLT on whole wheat. The bacon was thick and high quality and the bread was excellent. The potato salad was above average, moistened with just the right amount of mayonnaise for my taste. My wife ordered the half-sandwich and soup special featuring clam chowder soup and tuna salad sandwich. She is from New England and raved about the chowder - plenty of clams and not overly thickened broth. (The soup may be available only on Fridays). The server was friendly but service seemed a little slow. Overall we highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Close to my mechanic, so I figured I'll get Stan's a shot while I waited, & waited & waited. Coffee gal was on her job. I drowned in it before my chicken fried steak breakfast came out. The manager/owner whatever apologized several times after I waited at least a half an hour. She said the meat just got delivered & it had to be prepped. Still waiting. It finally got deliver to me, I got compt my meal because of the wait. She made it right. The meal itself was delicious. I'll try it again hopefully with timely results. read more

Nope nope nope... Bad Cooks! Raw Eggs! Bad Service! Brought my family in for breakfast. Got seated and ordered and waited about 15 minutes for them to remember to bring me coffee... finally got some coffee after watching the waiter fill up everyone's coffee and walking past me over and over. They even seated new customers and gave them coffee before me. I ordered the huevos rancheros with the eggs sunny side up. When they finally brought it out, eggs were runny, super wet whites and barely cooked. My wife and kids ordered plates with eggs sunny side up also. Their sunny side up eggs were also runny and very undercooked. None of us could eat so we decided to pay and leave and never look back. Bad service, noisy ambiance, bad cooks! Love this place! We found this place 15 years ago on our way to Eureka from the Bay Area and have stopped by again and again over the years. The food is consistently delicious and we always leave satisfied and knowing we will be back again next trip. The menu is perfect for all diets. They have gluten free pancakes, waffles, and French toast. My teenager has celiac and it's so hard to get a decent waffle and a decent price. Only $1.50 to make it gluten free versus a usual $3-4 up charge every where else. The waffle was thick, but not dense and rubbery like other gluten free waffles he's had. We all shared a bite and were impressed with how delicious it was. My husband always orders chicken fried steak every where we go but never actually loves it. He loves it here! Not greasy, the meat tastes good, and he kept commenting on how good the gravy was. I think he found a new favorite. I love that I can order veggie sausage. I usually just get eggs toast and hash browns. The sausage is good and tastes even better with a little maple syrup. Their bacon is thick and salty. Definitely not going to walk away hungry with any dish you order. Coffee is delicious too and they offer vanilla creamer which is always a plus in my book! Service is friendly and quick! The restaurant is smaller so not ideal for large groups just walking in probably. I'd definitely try to call ahead. It's cute and cozy and features local artist's work for sale. If you're going through Uriah make sure to stop. There's a nearby Tesla charging station too with walking distance and adorable shops to look in. It's located right downtown. read more

I have eaten at Stan's everytime I am in Ukiah overnight. The comfortable atmosphere, the fact that nearly everyone in the restaurant not only seems to be a local, but a regular, and above all the friendliness of the staff make it an irresistible choice; no matter that there are several fine places in town. Today's breakfast was no exception: I love that they keep the coffee coming. I love the light, fluffy scrambled eggs... which the cook always customizes for me by adding cheddar cheese and onions... but most of all I love that they serve veggie 'sausages'! Staff at Stan's Maple Cafe are always wonderful, kind, friendly and amazing! The food is always amazing! Some of us prefer their hash browns versus their country potatoes and some of us prefer their country potatoes versus their hash browns; so, still all around amazing food! We don't like their breakfast sausages that are finger shaped, but that is simply a preference. Their chorizo is sausage-like versus crumbly. Their food is always delicious and well made! They have real maple syrup, but you have to ask for it. Please do NOT ask for it and then Not eat it!! Real Maple syrup is expensive!! Please be considerate!! You do pay for it, but come on--those trees have to be tapped and surely you don't want to waste something like that! They make amazing French toast! They have Gluten Free toast! Their coffee is so good, too, and goes well with their French toast or Belgian waffles! They are a Mom and Pop place that is historically known and important, as well as important to the staff and customers. I love this place, it's been around forever. I remember going here as a kid with my grandparents and still go here with my adult son now. The food is amazing! Especially the pancakes. The wait staff are always very friendly and there have been some added menu items the last few years. read more

This place has really gone downhill. I used to enjoy coming here, but my recent visit was a huge letdown. The quality of the food was simply not good, and it's clear that standards have slipped. The main issue with every plate was the overwhelming amount of hash browns or potatoes. It felt like they were trying to fill the plate with cheap fillers instead of the actual food I ordered. My eggs benedict had a hollandaise sauce that was bland and lacked any real flavor. An order of eggs came with barely any eggs, and the bacon was a fatty, undercooked mess instead of being crispy. The corned beef hash was another potato-heavy dish with very little corned beef. To top it all off, the "toast" was just a single piece of bread, cut in half, with butter slapped in the middle. The service was another issue. I had to get up and find a waitress just to get refills on coffee and water. On top of the poor service, they charge extra if you use a credit card. I won't be returning. I'm not willing to pay $75.00 for a plate of potatoes. It's a shame to see a once-good restaurant go down this path read more

Prices for the food you get is unbelievable. I can go 30 minutes to Judy's Junction and get twice the food and better for the price I paid here. The Denver Omelette was small for $14.25 and the Breakfast Quesadilla well there was not much I can say on that one. Very dry needed sour cream and pico. The red sauce tasted like enchilada sauce out of a can. Probably won't be back. And bring your gold pan because you'll needed it. read more

My beautiful wife and I were looking for a cafe near Hopland and it seemed that they were all closed probably due to covid in the time of weak. Of the cafes that we did see they seem to be very busy so we went further down the road to Ukiah and found Stan's Maple Cafe. It was fairly unassuming outside. A standard Cafe look. The magic was actually inside. We were greeted at the door by his whole red headed lady who immediately made sure that we got a table. They were extremely busy. If you go into a restaurant and no one's there I would wonder what kind of a restaurant I just walked into. This one's busy that says a lot about their food. We're on a special diet so we sort of had to watch what we put into our body but the more we read the menu and the more we saw what was on the tables around us we were convinced we had to eat off diet a little. My wife stayed pretty true to her that she had fried eggs on top of corned beef but sort of pushed the potatoes off to the side. They made a beautiful green sauce that they put over the top that was delicious. How do I know? Because we share. My order was biscuits and gravy one biscuit sausage gravy top with two eggs over easy and bacon and cheese. Sadly I have to say that most of that was off my diet. But you know what? I still have a smile on my face. The food looked amazing. When I saw it served I know that we've made the right choice coming here. Highly recommended. And our waitress Caitlin was wonderful. My brother & I placed an order for pickup, I ordered the Country Gravy & Biscuits combo & man..the eggs tasted bland, 0 seasoning on them whatsoever, bacon was undercooked & floppy, hash browns were bland as well & not cooked great either. The biscuits were the smallest I've ever seen at a restaurant. My brother ordered The 101 Sandwich, same issue with the eggs, same issue with the bacon AND the Hash browns & for $11 by itself, was tiny..All around not a great meal for either of us. The prices online aren't accurate to what you actually wind up paying & even then, i couldn't justify paying more than $10 for either meal.. read more

I ordered the California Chicken Sandwich with green chili soup. It was exceptional and I can't wait to have it again! Service was top notch, from the young busser/sweeper to the hostess/server/food runner. The busser helped refill water and coffee, and swept the carpet. He politely asked if he could sweep up the spilled sugar at the side of our table. He kept busy the entire time we were there. Our server was really nice and upgraded my cup of soup to a bowl. We had a business meeting in Ukiah and looked for some nearby breakfast options, and decided to give Stan's a try. We ordered online and picked up the food so can't really comment on the sit-down service. Ordering online was super fast and easy and pick up was also a breeze. There's plenty of street parking. We ordered the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and a short stack of pancakes. The food was good - pretty standard diner fair and of similar quality: good, hearty food in pretty large portions, but really nothing extraordinary. The corned beef was a tad on the dry side. I would only recommend that for to-go orders, sides, especially butter, be packed outside of the hot food. All of the butter was completed melted and separated. Decent hot breakfast option and service seemed to be pretty friendly too. read more
