A small modest nail salon, that is busy busy busy!…read more I did have to wait about 15-20 mins after my appointment time, but I think that's pretty normal with other comparable salons. Also I need about that long to pick a colour which I did while I waited. I went in for a new set of acrylic nails. I haven't had my nails done in about a year and it was time. Nancy is amazing. She did my nails and spent so much time on shaping them and making them perfect. They are the most beautiful almond shape. Easily the best shaped nails I've had, and under 100 dollars for a new set with tip and special chrome powder on each. Unfortunately my phone can't capture the colour (a sort of greige with chrome purple on top) but my nails are stunning and I couldn't be happier I will be back !

In town to visit friends and just back from Whistler with some icky, dry hands and feet. So I…read morecalled just two hours in advance to see if they had any availability left on a busy Sunday afternoon for a manicure ($30) and deluxe pedicure ($65) and they fit me in! Though I added paraffin ($15) to my hands, they did push both the manicure-pedicure in shellac because they stated the regular polish would not dry in time ($25). I also did not know there was a 5% tax on services in Canada. However, they do give you 5% discount for writing a review - though instead of $129.68, they charged me $131.78 because they only took off the 5% on the $90 shellac manicure-pedicure. Even after I tipped both of the technicians $20 each in US currency, I was disappointed that they were dishonest when I pointed out to them about the discount not having been applied to the total amount and they said it was the tax. I had Trish and Miley; both were excellent with the trim, shape, and polish. The hand and foot/leg massages were just okay. I have the manicure at the same time as the pedicure, but it was quite uncomfortable to have to sit on an angle for both my hands to be done to one side of the chair. Because the receptionist was chatting away with both of them, they were not paying attention and not looking at their sanding and buffing of my nails at the beginning, which was also uncomfortable to my hand and feet cuticles. Last, the foot exfoliation was also not thorough because it was done during the time that the conversation was happening. All in all, I would still recommend!

The salon…read moreis clean, peaceful with spa style music, and a big screen playing a video of beautiful vacation locations like the Maldives. I asked for French tip with a coating of chrome dust on top. Anytime I've asked for French tip, I find some aestheticians take quite long to do it but Kieran was sharp and speedy. I walked in at 10:20am and was out of there by 11:30am. He even added abit of length to my thumb as my nail had just broken off prior to getting there. I'm super happy with the quality and the precision of the French tip. It was definitely on the pricier side with French being an extra $15 and chrome an additional $15 on top of a regular gel mani. Total before tip was around $70. I didn't mind spending extra to ensure my nails looked great for my wedding weekend!

I am so hands-on in my life and so impatient and never maintain nail polish, so I usually don't bother with a manicure very often. The shellac didn't chip at all - there were maybe two slight scratches after a few days. Now my nails have grown out and the shellac peels a bit at the bottom, but it's actually easy to peel it off once it has gone past its useful lifetime. Much easier than rubbing at it with nasty chemical nail polish remover. So for me, way, way better than a normal manicure! I don't know what other spas/salons offer shellac, but Dawa gets some points for introducing me to it and giving me something that actually holds up.
