    Garden omelet
    Abby D.

Cute breakfast joint! Massive menu to satisfy everyone's hunger. Waitress was super friendly and attentive to our party of 8. My garden omelet was giant and full of my favorite veggies. Home fries were perfectly crispy. Pancakes per the family were fluffy and simple, hitting spot. Huge perk having iced coffee with free refills!

I was quite happy to see a new breakfast place in Scarborough. Stacks didn't disappoint. I had a Greek Omelet and my husband the Huevos Rancheros. The serving sizes are huge. We both were very happy with our choices. We split a blueberry pancake which was very fluffy and tasty. Location is perfect, on Route 1. There was plenty of parking. Easy in and out. I like that we had to pay at the register, it saves time for everyone. Looking forward to returning.

Early day dining room.. fresh decor

For us, breakfast was just about perfect. So much food, excellent quality and tasty! Enough leftovers to augment at least one more meal (all those home fries!). Good coffee, wonderful friendly service. We got their early and they're already been open since 6am. The decor is fresh with Mediterranean colors .. Def worth a try! Soon!

Well, I'm sitting here waiting for my breakfast, but I love the personality of this place as well as a sweetheart of a server, Christina. Not only what's your kind to us but I watched her with other people... Just a lovely human. Food just came! Beautiful & Delicious!

Fried steak and eggs with white gravy

Great selection on the food and the quality was awesome. I ordered fried steak & eggs while my wife had blueberry pancakes. Coffee was very good. Despite previous reviews that I read, we were seated within 5 minutes and was eating our breakfast in less than 15 minutes despite the crowd.

Mini gluten free waffles- 1 with fruit, 2 done eggs Benedict style. The hollandaise is amazing!

Top notch diner food from breakfast to dinner. We had the breakfast combo similar to the lumberjack special. Friendly attentive wait staff.

The food was so flavorful, quickly prepared, and very creative with its presentation. Local sourcing and very high-quality ingredients. The service was on point, the ambiance was warm and relaxing, and the value was more than reasonable. The same meal in Portland would have easily cost forty percent more. I wish I had taken pictures of the meal, but I was tired and hungry and just forgot. My burger and fries were spot on. The fries stayed crispy from the beginning to the end. The burger meat was fresh and very tasty. The dessert was next level, and I did get a picture before eating it, lol. Whether you stay at the hotel or not, City Farmhouse is always an excellent choice.

The lunch menu appeared interesting however it took so long to get our food and when it finally was served several items that supposedly came with the meal were "unavailable". Since we were the only people in the restaurant we could not understand why it took forever to get our food. Each of us was disappointed when it did come. My fish sandwich had very little fish in it and what there was was strangely "rubbery". What would normally be an hour's lunch took two hours by the time we got our food and ate. We could not understand what was going on in the kitchen. Our server was pleasant but it did not make up for the overall experience. Will not return.

The building itself is small and honestly looks like it may have once been a small car dealership or office building that was converted into a cafe. When you walk inside, the cafe is very compact. They have a few round tables along with a small bar seating area. The menu is displayed on the left while ordering takes place on the right side. The place was clean and organized, but because of the small layout, I could definitely see it feeling claustrophobic when it gets busy. The staff, unfortunately, didn't come across as very welcoming during my visit. It felt more like they just wanted you to place your order rather than creating that warm local cafe atmosphere that makes people want to stay and relax. It wasn't rude, but it also didn't feel especially inviting or friendly. For food, I ordered two Southwestern breakfast sandwich, and honestly, it was really good. The flavors were balanced well, and the egg didn't overpower the sandwich. You could actually taste all the ingredients together, which I appreciated. Even though I didn't try the coffee, the sandwich itself was definitely the highlight of the visit for me. Overall, the food was enjoyable and the cafe was clean, but the atmosphere and customer service didn't really give that cozy hometown cafe feeling that welcomes everyone in. Still, if you're nearby and looking for a solid breakfast sandwich, it may be worth stopping by. I give St. Joe's Cafe 3 out 5 stars.

I've already got a few visits under my belt and liked them enough to have bought a souvenir mug. First visit actually reviewing was a breakfast trying the Hobson's Sampler with eggs, meat, homefries, toast, pancakes, and many choices among them. -- Scrambled Eggs: Nothing remarkable but no mistakes. Cooked just right, avoiding brownage and runny goopage. -- Homefries: Cut into non-cubes with heights less than the widths, achieving better crispness that way. Good variety of textures. Not much seasoning or onion, but solid homefries. -- Sausage Links (3): Standard. Lightly crisped, still juicy. Seems easy, but hardly anyone does them this well. -- English Muffin: I told the server to skip the toast, seeing there'd be plenty of carbs with the two pancakes, but she strongly recommended trying the English muffins, since they were homemade. Great flavor, great choice. Will have these again and I recommend you try them too. -- Pancakes (2): Fluffy and delicious. And big. Not elite, but really close. Enough that you'd have to go to 10 other places before finding one better. Just a great all-around place. It did not disappoint at all and deserves all the hype/love it gets from the reviews. Tucked away in an area that is mostly industrial/business headquarters area. You will easily spot it though from the beautifully done artwork on the wall. It is a small building so hopefully you can time it well to avoid huge rush/crowds. They had roughly 7-8 tables with some 2-person and some 4-person tables if you are looking to enjoy your food here. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and welcoming. They had so many tempting sounding breakfast sandwiches it was difficult to pick. I ended up going with their breakfast burrito and my wife got the Pine Point. Both were phenomenal and would be no brainers to order again, but with so many choices we would likely choose other new ones. My wife loved the bread used and the corned beef were perfectly made! The breakfast burrito was packed full with zero complaints. Drink wise we each got an iced latte, my wife got the mocha and I got the honeycomb latte. Both were very solid with a good amount of flavor to them. Lastly before leaving we each picked out a donut to have when we got home, a blueberry and a Maine maple. Definitely a spot we look forward to returning to in the future. Add this to your places to check out as a local or tourist!

The corned beef hash here is excellent - that I do have to acknowledge. I was a bit underwhelmed by the fried green tomatoes though. The tomatoes were just okay, but the excessive hollandaise sauce really just made the whole dish waaay too heavy. It was also just messy.
