St Joe's Cafe is a great little breakfast and lunch spot in Scarborough! They have a pretty extensive menu that fits most flavor desires and provides many options. I met a colleague there for a late breakfast and chat and we were really happy with our experience. The staff is really friendly and turned our orders around quickly. Seating is a little tight, but not too crazy. Make a plan to stop here if you're nearby!

If you are in Maine this place is a must for a quick breakfast/brunch/lunch. The food is amazing. The staff are so friendly. The coffee is also SO good.

On this freezing cold morning, I stopped by this cozy cafe in Scarborough. I ordered the "fireball latte." Cayenne pepper and maple syrup, shots of expresso and hot milk. Maybe the best latte I have ever had. Is this a Maine thing? Most places I have gone to eat here have blown my mind, this place is at the top. I ordered the "baby falafel" sandwich. There was nothing baby about this. Fresh green crisp lettuce, diced purple onion, diced cucumbers (all small enough to somehow bite into) and the best falafel I have had in Maine. Usually sandwiches like these fall apart, not this one! The sauce, what in the world, it was so good and perfect for falafel & veggies. Atmosphere, cozy & warm. Staff, very friendly. Their drink and food menu is large for a small cafe. I highly recommend this cafe! You wont be disappointed!

Bennyfit This was my first time taking a "red-eye" flight, and boy howdy, do I hate people who can sleep on a plane that much more after that miserable experience. Suffice it to say, what's the first stop after something like that: caffeine. "Somebody" just wanted to hit up the first Mermaid we could find, but I refused and found the first place on Yelp that popped up with "café" in the name and had more than a 3* rating and here we ended up. St. Joe's has been serving the Scarborough area for almost fifteen years (ca. 2012) and are known for their all-day breakfast, coffee, and their signature "Bennies" (aka Beignets). The Good: *Gluten-free options *Parking lot that wasn't huge, but ample enough for their space *Friendly service *Covered outdoor space to enjoy your goodies *We weren't particularly hungry but knew we had to try their Bennies--and they were 100% worth it. Unlike a traditional Beignet, these Bennies are little two-biters that are fried up fresh to order and the raspberry dipping sauce was a nice fresh foil to the fried goodness. The Meh: *Interior is cramped and not the place for the claustrophobic at heart. The Ugly: *Ordered a iced Dirty Pumpkin Spice Latte (might've actually been a double I'm a little fuzzy on that) and the flavor all-around was very muted on the chai, Pumpkin spice, and coffee. Tasted like a watery, slightly spicy tea. Not what I was looking for, but it got the job done. Fwiw, Carissa liked her drink (don't recall) so maybe just depends what you order? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Coffee might be hit or miss, but definitely get the Bennies!

Randomly was driving by and saw this place in the corner of my eye. Small little seating area inside so if it's busy good luck. The staff were extremely helpful and amazing. Usually when places are busy staff tend to get all irritated and stressed but not this place. They took their time with my party and were very informative. The food was amazing. Everything was made fresh and the iced drinks hit the spot. Man I'm goin to miss this place when I head back home to the east coast.

Good food and pretty quick service. Always super busy and packed. Be patient, the food is good and worth the wait. Another great opportunity away from the hustle and bustle of the mall

Bacon Gouda Grilled cheese was good, but the bacon was thin and extremely salty. Dining area was small and a little overcrowded with the amount of seats they tried stuffing into place. Service was quick. Everything was just ok. Not sure I'd go back for a $12 grilled cheese tho.

Stopped in after 12 for breakfast and was happy to see it is served all day. I was honestly extremely overwhelmed at the menu and opted for the Ranchero because I saw it had egg, guac, and pepper jack on an English muffin. Great sounds like a standard breakfast sandwich. I also ordered an iced coffee and waited for my name to be called. When my name was called, I grabbed the to go container my sandwich was in, some napkins and I was on my way to sit at a picnic table outside. I sat down and opened the container and quickly realized I wouldnt be able to pick the sandwich up and I needed a fork. Damnit. I just wanted to eat quickly and go! I put my coffee, the sandwich and my bag in my car and headed back inside for a fork. I didn't realize the sandwich had only egg whites, which made the whole situation very watery. The lovely homemade English muffin was drenched. I ate about half by picking the ham from the egg whites and was disappointed because it didn't hit the spot. It was very very hot, however, so you know it was fresh AF. I'm not letting my first experience get to me, I made a hasty decision and should have studied the menu in the car, before I went in. Definitely going back with my husband for lunch sandos. The coffee was great too!

Fantastic breakfast/lunch spot with massive sandwiches. The gluten free bread upgrade for the sandwiches is great multigrain. The default is a house made buttermilk biscuit which friends said was very good. My highlight was the Harvest Chicken Salad sandwich, a genius combo of chicken salad, bacon, green apples, butternut squash and carmalized onions. I added a hash brown and felt like I was going to explode after only eating half! A friend really enjoyed the Wicked Bull drink (frozen Red Bull) as an alternative to coffee. The mango flavor is very mango-ey. Some parties were ordering the Bernie (signature fried dough) very early in the morning, so I assume it's just THAT good. The house coffee is the local Carrabassett Coffee Co from Kingfield, ME. They have many different options from this brand at the self pour station. The inside feels a bit cramped as people wait to order and wait for their food in the same small spot. The indoor seating is limited compared to the traffic volume, but there are outdoor tables when weather permits. There is a bathroom for customers.

Really good food! I used to come here when I was in college & remember their lunch sandwiches being really good, tried their breakfast for the first time today. Reasonably priced & lots of options! I got the Ranchero & my husband got the Patty Joe- they are HEFTY. They make the food right there & serve you super fast. Fresh and piping hot! The biscuit on the sandwiches is great. Only thing is there's lots of egg which is good but the cheese gets a little lost in everything. Lots more drink options than there used to be (lattes, macchiatos, etc.) and a good amount of sugar free syrups which I always appreciate It's a fun place & the same guy is cooking in the back that was cooking when I went to college here 8 years ago- I think he's one of the owners? You go man! Small place with a decent amount of bar stool seating inside for its size, they're busy and have lots of pick up customers so it isn't hard finding a place to sit & enjoy your meal.

I went to two different locations in two days because it was that good. It was seriously a life-changing as all the other reviews said it was and I definitely am going to go back one day to try their coffee and their beignets so I ended up getting two different kinds of breakfast sandwiches but you're so good and so and the biscuits were absolutely amazing and it was honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had and the service was super Duper good it came out super Duper fast both times and both locations had seating in it for you to go sit down down and eat and it was a casual dining place.

Holy moly was this place delicious. I've only been once, this past weekend, so I'm not sure I'm really allowed to review this place? But it was exceptional so I'm going to anyway, lol. I stopped in here on a whim after realizing I'd driven past Dunkin Donuts, and was like, why not stop in somewhere with good reviews that is locally owned? Heads up, the parking lot is a little chaotic, but it's worth it. I came in and it's a cute little spot. I am an idiot and went to the left side window, which CLEARLY says 'pick up,' but the cook told me to order over on the right hand side. Just a heads up! Service is lukewarm - both the cook and cashier seemed annoyed to be there, which always makes me so uncomfortable. Looking at the reviews, I'm not the only one to feel like the service was lacking. Their menu is huge! And they cook everything freshly to order, served piping hot. I love that you can see the flat top griddle thingy. It's so satisfying. They have plenty of vegetarian options! I got: - Egg biscuit sandwich The Mushroom: sauteed mushrooms, egg, caramelized onions, garlic and herb cream cheese ($7.50) - Smart Start English Muffin Morning Glory: Veggie Sausage & American Cheese with egg ($6.95) - giant peanut butter cup cookie - hot peppermint mocha coffee The food came out really quickly - like five minutes! And though it's small in here and there are some tables, it does seem like people do takeout too. The food was IN.CRED.IB.LE. The eggs were fluffy, and so flavorful. The cheese was perfectly melty and seasoned. Also, how awesome is it to have the veggie sausage option?! I feel like that's rare. Both sandwiches were insanely good. The coffee was awesome too. This place is worth driving out to. It's affordable and and absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back!

When you need a little grease to cure you, this is your first stop before hitting the beach. Indoor and outdoor seating and a menu that will please all! GF and vegetarian options available.

The fried dough things with raspberry sauce. Outstanding!
