Went to this restaurant to celebrate my sons Birthday. We decided to buy a Groupon since it was available for mid week and we were going there on his actual birthday. When we got there, we sat in the back of the restaurant, and after about 10 minutes and ordering it started smelling like sewage. The patrons behind us could not stand the smell, even with masks on, and asked to be moved. The manager move the patrons, but then decided to move other patrons in that same spot an older couple, which I thought was weird because if you knew the smell, why would you do that? Also There is no other tables for us to go to. When we ordered, we had to order an extra entrée in order for the Groupon to work. All meals are $16 or more if not $20 which is a lot of money for breakfast. When we got our entrées, the breakfast tacos, and the corn tortillas, tasted moldy and old . I decided to not eat these. When we checked out, I informed the manager about the sewage smell in the back and he was surprised when I told him it. They obviously know about it and they don't care. I can make better breakfast than they can not worth the money I would not go to this restaurant. read more

This place had a super long wait even though I had a reservation for like 8 people, but it was worth it! First of all, if you go on a Sunday you can check out the farmer's market while you wait, which is a fun way to spend time. Once we were seated, I ordered nutella coffee which was delicious. Went here last Sunday at my Mom's request. We got here a little after 9am and were seated right away after being told it would be a 10-15 minute wait which was a nice surprise since I have a 14 month old! They have a pretty large menu selection but I found the prices to be a little high. I ordered the French toast and really enjoyed it (and so did my son). My mom had the eggs and bacon that came with potatoes but she didn't like the potatoes because they came with onion in them. Stack's is probably your typical breakfast place. I had assumed that it would be similar to the one in Burlingame, but when we entered we immediately noticed the IHOP and Denny's resemblance. We were seated almost immediately...it was close to 130 pm after all. I had the Egg Louis (see picture on yelp) and my bf had the 3 egg scrambled with mushroom, spinach, and cheese. Food was Ok--it's what you would expect. My egg louis was a bit on the bland side, but with salt and pepper the problem was taken care of. The side of potatoes (actually hash browns) were yummy! I almost enjoyed that more than my actual meal. Fruit was decent-nothing out of the ordinary, a couple grapes, pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, etc... My only complaint is that it's a little on the pricier side. I would come back, although not my weekly brunch spot. If you're in Campbell, check it out, but don't expect anything super fancy, just pricey. read more

Everytime i've gone here the wait is almost always a half hour or more, so keep that in mind. With that in mind, every minute is worth the wait, as this place has some of the best breakfast to be found in the bay area. I've never been partial to pancakes, but the banana macadamia coconut pancakes I had here are the second best i've ever had, after my granpas own sourdough pancakes. Believe me though, that's saying alot! If i'm not getting pancakes though, i'm usually getting their specials. I almost always come on sundays, so I can go to the farmers market while I wait for my table, and their biscuits and gravy are simply to die for. Everything is made fresh and is very tasty. Their crepes are also very fluffy, and I find alot better than waffles or pancakes, as I prefer a hearty breakfast over a sweet one. The one thing I suggest you avoid though is getting any juices or smoothies, as its very overpriced and you get a very small glass. $3.50 for a small glass of orange juice thats from concentrate? Not worth it. Same with the other juices. Stick with the water or coffee (great coffee), and your meal will be alot more affordable. Aside from that though, everything on the menu is absolutely delicious, and of very high quality. Definitely worth the wait. read more

So there is a bit of a wait for this place, but it is so worth it! I usually end up ordering the garden crepe. It comes with potatoes and a bagel. The past time I swapped my potatoes for fresh fruit... which I don't think I will do again even though it is healthier. I got their Banana Macadamia Nut Coconut pancakes and wife got the Biscuits and Gravy special. Could not ask for better tasting food. We are huge fans of biscuits and gravy and we would consider Stacks' to be one of the best we've had. Coffee was very tasty, pitchers of water on the table are awesome (and necessary as the wait staff is very busy but always attentive). Stacks has never disappointed me. Having gone to multiple locations in Campbell, Menlo Park, and SF, it has always been a great experience. One rule, be prepared to wait if you go on the weekends. If you want an all-american breakfast joint that's a step up from Denny's, Perkins, or Mini Gourmet, this is your joint. My fiancé and I like to visit here a few times a year when we're craving a big hot breakfast before a big day hike. On our most recent visit, we arrived a little before 9AM on a Sunday and had no trouble getting seats for the two of us. If you are going with a group of 6 or more, you should call ahead to make a reservation. After 9:30AM or so, there is always a wait. I tried a mocha, and a plate of bacon, egg, and cheese tacos that came with hashbrowns, a fruit cup, and sliced avocado. I wouldn't recommend the mocha; it tasted more like very sweet hot chocolate and didn't have that nice coffee and chocolate balance. The meal was awesome - very tasty, very filling. The fruit and avocado slices were nice and fresh. I love Stacks hashbrowns. My fiancé had their fresh squeezed OJ with the Chicken Apple omelet. The OJ was pretty good, and the omelet was awesome. The food portion is BIG! Most of the breakfast dishes come with a bagel, which I think is a waste of food, because on its own, a bagel with cream cheese is pretty much breakfast. Anyhow, the fruit crepe is amazing. The pancakes are huge. Overall the breakfast food is pretty good. I really like the staff. But there are the few waitresses that are overly friendly, that is kinda creepy. Also, between 9am and 12:30pm, it gets crowded, but they do have free coffee, tea, and water outside. I have been to Stacks several times and I really enjoy it. We went a couple weeks ago with some friends. My husband had one of the skillets, which he said was fantastic. I had the yogurt and granola with fruit. It was pretty good, but probably not as healthy as it sounds like it should be. There is A LOT of sugar on it between the fruit yogurt, the sugar in the granola and the candied walnuts. My friends had a spinach omelet with cheese, which she loved. The linen table cloths are crisp and clean as well. The noise can be loud if large groups are present, but it's normal levels for an open diner experience. I enjoyed the blueberry stack and was very grateful for fresh hot coffee. A pitcher of ice water is placed at the table and is a great benefit as well. LOVE their chicken apple sausage omelet with green onions and smoked gouda--I get it as a scramble, and it is delicious. And Stack's has the best banana wheat germ pancakes. The wheat germ adds a nice texture. They're as big as the plate, so one is plenty. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that sometimes service is lacking. We nearly always sit outside, which is further from the kitchen and out of sight, so that might be the reason. The food is pretty prompt, but we have had a few inattentive servers while sitting outside. However, I appreciate that Stack's has several outdoor tables, and we like to bring our dog, so I would recommend the restaurant based on that and the excellent food. read more

They make a nice breakfast, I've had a few, but the moral to this particular story is about one dish. The Biscuits and Friggin Gravy. It's a special, and shame on me for not remembering if it's Sat or Sun special....but man is it truly special. Best I've had this side of the Mississippi. Rich gravy with chunks of country sausage, over super flaky and buttery biscuits. All topped with 2 eggs cooked to your preference. Served with a side of fresh fruit. Homerun. I'm down for the wait. Once you finally get seated, it's really hard to go wrong with anything on Stack's menu. BTW, the long wait is not so much staff or kitchens fault. The problem here lies with the customers who like to keep their fat Campbell asses at table sipping refill after refill of coffee and chatting for an hour after table has been cleared and bill payed.
