I was disappointed, if not surprised, to see that this wasn't an anachronistically sexist '00s-era theme restaurant à la Hooters or Tilted Kilt. Otherwise, I have no notes. This place makes a good cheeseburger. Well, maybe a few notes. I figured I'd get either a beer or a milkshake with my burger. I didn't see any milkshakes on the menu, so that made my decision to drink easy enough. Not that I needed one. I did see a number of ridiculous-sounding desserts, including something called a bacon cookie. But technically I'm training for a marathon, the fact that I'm out here drinking beer and eating ginormous cheeseburgers notwithstanding. Also, it cost like $10. I'll never truly recover from just what I paid for my burger and fries. But trust that I will be back, if only to see what some of these things even are. I might try the entire menu before it's all said and done with. We can only hope that this place doesn't suffer the same fate as the Pi that was in this same location. Keep Barack Obama as far away from here as possible. His successor Joe Brandon's influence is evident in the pricing. Burgers will run you upwards of $20, but they do come with free fries. Uh, thank you? Well, I guess they come with a free side. You could opt for applesauce, if you want to. I had to talk a girl I was with (but not really "with," natch) out of getting the applesauce. She's welcome. You're also given the option of getting your fries dusted with herbs and Parmesan cheese. One of the guys from my running group got that and seemed to love it, to a degree that was honestly kinda gross. They do the thing like at Five Guys where they give you a truly insane amount of fries as if they're doing you a favor, like they didn't just run your pockets. The fries are roughly the same size and shape as the fries at McDonald's, and they're nearly as good, which is the highest compliment you can pay anything. The burgers are on another level. They're ginormous steakhouse burgers, rather than the smash burgers that are all the rage everywhere else and have been since Mumford & Sons were climbing the charts and guys were walking around dressed like lumberjacks. The beef is just ground chuck, not some weird blend containing short rib, filet mignon and what have you. But it must be a good-quality ground chuck. That cow must have been fed only the finest industrial waste and words of encouragement. You're given the option of selecting your own toppings, like at a Fuddruckers, or ordering one of their bizarre-sounding specialty burgers. I like the idea of building my own burger, but picking the right toppings would have been entirely too anxiety inducing. It may have caused me to have to go on those meds they give members of Gen Z who spent too much time on TikTok. I'm already dealing with body-image issues as it is. The problem with such elaborately crafted menu items is that it's hard to know what any of them are really like without seeing and tasting them. What if I ordered the En Fuego and it came out looking like an actual pile of garbage put together by someone who, uh... doesn't have any business making sandwiches? That's kinda what it sounds like. I figured I'd go with one of the small handful of specialty burgers that had bacon on them, and I landed on the Ride the Lightning. In addition to the bacon, er, maple candied bacon, it comes with some sort of blueberry compote and a brie spread that turns all gooey due to the warmth of the burger. It looks positively inappropriate when they bring it out to you, and it's got a taste to match. No Diddy. The blueberry jam or whatever, which seems like it might be kinda weird, really sets it off. The bacon, which, on a burger, can be an afterthought, was great. Surprisingly, all of the toppings serve to accentuate the flavor of the meat, rather than cover it up. As ridiculous as some of these menu items sound, they seem to have put real thought into them. They're not out here playing games. read more

3.5 On a Fri day around 2 PM Wasn't crowded at all & seated immediately. Cute space on the corner with plenty of seating and open windows. Plenty of TVs and a bar. Our waitress was nice and helpful overall. I got a sweet tea (very sweet) with lemon I did a BOY which you mark on a sheet of paper. I'm typically a smash burger person, this one is huge to me and it was cooked really really well. Perfect medium. The extras come mostly come on the side unless they are cooked which I appreciate. I did mark spring mix and didn't get any, but really made no difference. (I did order cheese and took it off as it didn't look appealing to me) The Texas toast was the best part for me although the bottom half was soggy, I ate both top half's and saved the others for leftovers. Stumbled in here during an outdoor CWE event while walking around with a friend and needed a quick bite. Really glad we stopped in! The space is nice, you can either sit at the bar area or dining table. Good natural lighting from the windows. We ended up sitting at the bar and both ordered the classic burger. I asked for mine with no cheese and the staff confirmed it, but it came out with cheese anyway. Not a big deal, I just ate it, but something to note if you have an actual allergy/vegan. Staff was nice overall. Friend enjoyed her burger too so no complaints there. My cousin and I tried this place for lunch. There's metered street parking. They have smaller menu but will be expanding it soon. What's really cool is that you can order your burger off the menu or you can build your own starting with a hamburger, salmon or chicken base. You can also get a drink off the menu or build your own. We started with wings and fried pickles. Both had really good flavor and they also came with dipping sauces. My beef/pork combo burger was really good - it was juicy and flavorful. Great fries too! The strawberry lemonade was pretty good - it was a different taste since it was made with bourbon. It got quite busy while we were there. Our server was great. Go give them a try. read more

The Bella Blues burger had NO flavor at ALL except for the greens, which were really bitter, honestly. Very dissatisfied with that choice. The Ride the Lightning burger, though, was one of the best burgers I have EVER had. It was salty, sweet, and the flavor was potent. The chipotle blueberry compote was out of this world and mixed absolutely perfectly with the Brie spread. Absolutely amazing. The regular fries were really good. The sweet potatoes fries were okay, nothing special. The honey mustard was really good! We also got a drink with a pea flower syrup and while it isn't the drink I typically go for, it was very nice and light, super floral-forward. I suggest that drink if you like something that isn't a deep flavor or strongly alcoholic. The service was fast and the restaurant was mostly empty while we were there. The greeter at the door was very friendly and made a very great impression immediately. I was craving a burger so we turned to Reddit to figure out the best STL burger spot near us and Stacked came highly recommended. This seems to be the secondary location. I believe the primary is in South City. We walked in at 2pm on a Friday and were immediately seated and ordered. We got the Fuego (Medium) and Barn (Medium Rare) burgers with their fries and creamy coleslaw respectively. Our order arrived 27 minutes later. We felt that was a bit long given how few other people were in the restaurant at the time. The burgers themselves were... not as great as we were promised. My Fuego came slathered in sauce which fell out readily when picked up, particularly because picking up our burgers was difficult; the burger patty was 50% smaller than their buns! Speaking of the buns, they were dry and smushed. My husband's burger came out correctly medium rare, but mine was completely well done. The coleslaw was the best piece of the meals as the fries were overly dried out. We did not finish them and went home to make our own from the frozen Great Value fries we had in our freezer. For a meal that cost us $45 all in, we were sorely disappointed. We will not go again and are still on the search for a great burger. read more

We went here on a Saturday night and were hopeful we wouldn't have a long wait. We were seated quickly and the waitress gave us a rundown of the menu. I ordered the Trippppy burger with the red hot fries. Omg, that burger was soo good and so were the fries. I forgot what my husband got but he said he enjoyed his as well. Burgers came out quickly! I was so excited to try Stacked STL CWE. We've been patrons of the original Stacked for years and I absolutely loved the space when it was Pi. I was shocked to find there was no wait on a Saturday. We walked in and got a table right away. The menu is the same as the south city location which was great with me--why fix something that isn't broken. We started with the pretzels and cheese/mustard. These were great. I then had the En Fuego burger and fries. It was good, but not as delicious as the South City location. It just seemed to be missing something. Service was okay, but not great. For as quiet as the restaurant was, it took quite a while to get our order and our server was not the best at checking in on us. Overall, Stacked STL CWE is a solid place to grab a burger. With their new location opening in the Central West End, I was excited to finally check it out since it's closer to me than their other location. I used to wonder how good a burger could really be, but I was completely wrong. It's hard to find thick, juicy burgers these days. Most places only offer thin, smashed patties with buns that are thicker than the meat itself. If it's thick burgers, you find it to be dry or less flavorful. However, Stacked STL is different! Their burgers are not only thick but very juicy and flavorful. I got the Trippy Burger the first time and the Mushroom Derby on my second visit. Yes, I already went back not long after my first time because it was so delicious. As of now, my favorite is the Trippy Burger. I visited on a Friday night when it was fairly busy and opted to sit at the bar to avoid the wait for a table. I chose to build my own burger, and it did not disappoint. Ambiance: The place was very spacious which I think they have an outside patio. They have a full bar for cocktails as well. Food: I tried a couple items from the menu. Fish sandwich- didn't like it. Had not type of taste just fishy and bread. Sig Hot wings - FIRE!! Absolutely loved these. I didn't know how I was going to feel with that Parmesan on them but it was really good. Cooked perfectly. Buffalo chicken T-Rav - these were also very good! Nice crunchy exterior but really good Buffalo chicken inside. Guacamole bites - I was hesitant on ordering these but they were really good! I would definitely come back for these. En Fuego - I thought this burger was just okay. I wasn't a fan of the corn guacamole on the burger. Trippy - I liked this burger. Kicked off with the Fried Pickles and they needed another minute in the fryer. Wanted them to have a crunch, but alas they were not. Opted for a build your own burger, American, bacon, onion straws on TX Toast, med-well. Came out well, so we'll it was dry and no juice factor at all. I stopped by the new Stacked location in the CWE on a Saturday afternoon and had a fantastic meal. I love all the window tables especially on a sunny day with all the natural lighting. I started with a seasonal cocktail which was fantastic and the buffalo chicken toasted ravs which are one of the best appetizers I've had in a while. Love the new Stacked in CWE! I have discovered the Left Handed Fish Salad which has Salmon, Broccoli and Greens with a light but delightful dressing. It has become my new go to at Stacked. My experience at stacked was decent the food was ok not bad but not the best. I had the wings which were good but the buffalo was lacking spice to, the chilli was not good at all, i made a custom burger and it was actually good but im my opinion not worth the cost. My gf also had a custom burger which she enjoyed. The service was amazing great server and friendly staff. The inside is nice but we sat outside which in cwe is a pretty good spot although the chairs are very uncomfortable. Overall it was a good time i would recommend trying if you like burgers, but wouldnt return myself personally. read more

I did the Build Your Own Burger with blue cheese crumbles, pickle, onion, and sourdough bread. I asked for burger medium and the french fries extra crispy. I felt like the burger and fries were both a little under and the bread was over toasted. My lunch date also got the Build Your Own Burger with the port wine cheese. Nice people. I've been eating at the Patch location since the early days and this one is nice, and the murals are cute, but was a little off for me. Overall a nice meal at Stacked in the Central West End! My husband and I walked up around 6:45 without a reservation and had no issue getting seated promptly outside by the friendly host. Note that if you sit outside, the road is pretty noisy and there is a good amount of foot traffic past the tables. It seemed we did arrive right when it was getting busy because it took a bit for our waitress to come around but she was nice and helpful in suggesting sides. Drinks and food both came out quickly! I got the Bella Bleus burger with sweet potato fries and my husband got the En Fuego with potato chips. Both of us ordered our burgers medium rare and agreed that they were definitely on the rare side of medium rare. Next time, I will get medium instead. The burgers were overall good but the patties could have used a bit more flavor. I also thought the Bella Bleus burger was pretty light on the vinaigrette but blue cheese does have a tendency to overpower so maybe that's why the vinaigrette didn't stand out. The sweet potato fries were definitely the best thing I ate. They had nice flavor and tasted fresh. We don't live in St. Louis any longer, but I do come back once a month for business. On these trips, I stay in the Central West End area, and get to experience all the food/restaurants and homelessness along North Euclid Street! Last night I went out for dinner and read all the great reviews on a "newer" restaurant to the area, apparently with another location in St. Louis called "Stacked" St. Louis CWE". I set out to walk there at 8:00 pm, and again ran into all the homelessness, but got to the restaurant, 8 minutes away from my hotel and I was pleasantly surprised! When I entered I was the only customer in there, but after I sat down and ordered, more folks started coming in! I wish I could remember my server's name, it was something unusual for such a cute little thing, that I thought she was crazy because she was wearing shorts in the restaurant while it rained and was in the high 40's outside! Anyway, she was very pleasant and happy to help a first time customer and I decided on one of their great burgers called the "Wet Nap" with stacked crispy onions and cheese and it was "almost" delicious because it was cooked just a little too much for "medium well"! It came with very tasty french fries, also "stacked" very high! The meal was very good, but would have been better if it wasn't cooked so well, and I didn't have the time to wait for another one to be cooked, so I ate about half of the huge burger! Overall, I will definitely go back and check it out again on my next trip in November! read more

My burger, The Goat, was very delicious and cooked to my liking. I added crunchy onions to it. My spouse built his own (fried mushrooms, caramelized onions...) and he said it was good. I ordered fried pickles and they're my least favorite fried pickles. That's because I like a nice crunchy batter and their pickles were pretty bare and greasy. The burger was amazing. The bleu cheese and mushrooms give a steak house quality to the amazing burger. It would be a crime to put mustard or ketchup on this burger.
