Seriously awful. We ordered in. Our pizza came with 5 pieces of sausage, we had added mushrooms, very little at best and barely any cheese. The wings were marginal, no sauce. Duck confit sandwich had very little duck, very little sauce. The salad was 100% frisée the kind you choke down. Just saying, if you like marginal, if you can call it food, order here. read more

Amazing food and amazing people! Grateful for the service I was provided and the atmosphere !

Pizza was tasty but EXTREMELY small for the money and very few toppings. Entire pizza had maybe four single square chunks of pineapple and four tiny squares of bacon! The sauce and cheese were so minimal you could still see the base of entire crust through it. Other than flavor, completely overpriced for what we got. Very disappointing, Cute name though...perhaps the portions are for squirrels! read more

Really great pizza w great ingredients and wonderful staff. My favorite pizza so far since I moved to Savannah.

Went here for lunch today and had a phenomenal experience. Super friendly and welcoming staff, great tunes, and the food was SO tasty. The staff were diligent about wearing masks and kept everything sanitary - I felt very safe dining here. I got the sausage & pepperoni pizza and added jalapeños - extremely flavorful & fresh (not to mention gorgeous). Best pizza I've had in a while. My boyfriend got the beef tenderloin sandwich and let me try some - the meat was cooked perfectly, the bun was toasty and delicious, and the scallion Boursin really took it all to the next level. I think I said "oh my god this is so good" about 15 times. It's so important to support local businesses right now - especially ones that are exceptional like Squirrel's. Can't wait to go back Did I mention that you can now get drinks from here to go? Do it. read more

Nice brick oven style thin crust pizza! And delivery was easy with Grub-hub. They delivered to my hotel.

Just a great little place with delicious food. Stopped in for a fairly late bite and was kind of blown away. I loved the dark decor with funky Sputnik like light fixtures. We started with the squirrel version of a caprese salad. It is a very unique interpretation but it works so well. A large piece of deliciously salty homemade mozzarella is surrounded by a ring of heirloom cherry tomatoes each sitting in a pool of pesto. It is like the a salad Stonehenge. And it allows the diner to get as much of as little of each ingredient per bit. Brilliant. We then had a build your own pizza topped with lamb, crimini mushrooms, spinach and sautéed onions. It was absolutely delicious. read more

I don't know whether it was the restaurant or the delivery service they contract with (Uber eats) but I was told on the phone with the restaurant and on the Uber Eats app that the wait for delivery would be 35-45min. Yes it was a busy Friday night I'm sure but TWO HOURS? Everything arrived cold. Nuked the beef sliders and inhaled them because we were hungry and now running late to catch a walking tour. I can't say the pizza was good cold and dry. Took two bites and tossed it out, pissed off at wasting $50. Post comment: Contacted UberEats. They claimed the delay was with the restaurant, not the delivery and have the driver's arrival and departure time as proof. Also, I did not choose UberEats; it is the delivery service available through the restaurant. Just something to keep in mind if you have another appointment and order delivery. read more

Delicious. My wife and I shared the roasted vegetables and the Double-Double pizza. The vegetables were perfect. Perfectly roasted. Perfectly seasoned/salted. Perfect. The pizza was amazing. I love wood fired crust, and this is one of the better crusts I've had. The pepperoni and sausage had good fat content without making the crust soggy. Beer selection is okay. Only eight beers on tap, but we both found good ones to pair with our food. The cocktail list looked amazing, but we both were in a beer mood. read more

Four of us ate at Squirrel's tonight at 7:30. It was empty and the music was at a very high level to mask that. It made conversation difficult. We had a Korean Buffalo chicken wings appetizer that was very good. Three of us had a variety of pizzas for our main course, and we really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, when we were offered Parmesan cheese, the dried sprinkles did not do the pizza justice. Some fresh shredded Parm would be a big improvement. Our fourth ordered the Caprese salad, and was really disappointed. The fresh mozzarella had a tough skin and too much salt. The tomatoes were laking in flavor. Squirrel's needs to add a delicious menu option for those who can't eat pizza. Our server was very good and the alcoholic beverage choices were great. I'd probably return if I was sure that the entire party only wanted pizza. read more

The Scene I knew from the moment I opened this door this was no ordinary pizza joint. A collage of squirrels arranged on the wall with modern seating beneath and a long row of table arrangements along one wall. The Eats My only request was a pepperoni pizza ordered to go. I was super unimpressed with the dough, limited cheese but good pepperoni. While I loved the doneness and char to the dough it tasted somewhat ... sour. I cannot for the life of me find another word for it. The Service It took forever - granted it was a Saturday night but a 25-minute wait? Upon walking in, I did not see the podium wedged to the right and walked straight thinking that I would encounter someone that would help. I found myself beside a prep guy and a person ordering at the counter. I asked about my order and was told it would be right up. It started getting crowded and that's when I noticed there was a seating area closer to the front. It seemed that the staff congregated in clusters wherever they were and it was never helpful to the consumer. Parting Thoughts I will return but not when I'm hungry. This would be a good spot for chatting with having a lighter fare and drinks with the girls. I'll give it another shot and update. read more

Seriously. You specialize in pizza. You have an exceptionally limited menu and have limited hours of operation. This would be indicative of a chef who wants to excel and concentrate on consistently delivering the best product possible, time and time again. So how did you do? If you were a student and I was the teacher, you would have been assigned a D+. The two pizzas we ordered were awkwardly cut. C'mon, is it that difficult to cut a pie appropriately? Do you realize that some folks order from hotels with no access to a pizza cutter or knife? The topping distribution was not only haphazard but completely inadequate. They felt more like a garnish than an integral component of the pizza. The crust was salty. Why? I can't count the numerous times I have made homemade crust, and never have I encountered a recipe that required such a crazy sodium level. The only thing I enjoyed after some manipulation was the spring salad with a basil vinaigrette. The dressing screamed for some seasoning as it tasted bland and uninspiring. But after opening and sprinkling some hotel packets of salt and pepper, the salad came alive. No reason for a repeat visit even though I understand that a pick up order can compromise the product but no excuses for this order.. read more

Found this place on a whim. My cousin got the pepperoni and I got the white pizza. First of all her curling pepperoni pizza looked and smelled amazing. I mean who doesn't like their pepperoni to curl up like that! My white pizza was also delicious. I liked the lemon flavor that was added to it. read more

Yummy pizza. Fresh ingredients and GrubHub experience was great. I give it 4 stars b.c the pizza only feeds one person. It's maybe 8" and super thin crust. Taste great but I must've missed in the description that it is really only for one person. I spent $22 (w/tip + delivery fee) for a tiny pizza. Just expected more. read more

Got take out. Sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms cooked in a brick oven. Very good and recommend highly.

I was very excited to try Squirrel, a new addition to Savannah's pizza scene. From their website, I was impressed by their commitment to utilizing high quality ingredients and a cool pizza oven. Unfortunately, the pizza feel far short of our expectations and was a very poor value for the price we paid. The space itself has been beautifully decorated, but it's a little confusing. Are they going for a pizza joint with a good cocktail program, or a bar/lounge that happens to serve pizza? We were sat immediately and our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We wanted to try the basics so we went with a margarita pie and a white pie. I ordered a cocktail which was well made and arrived quickly. The pizza is incredibly small, especially given the price. The margarita was finished with a basil oil which didn't add any flavor and made the whole pie way too oily. Fresh basil would have tasted better and not given the pie such an oily consistency. There wasn't enough sauce, and the fresh mozzarella was not spread out evenly on the pie. The white pie was even more of a let down, tasting more like focaccia than pizza. There was way too much rosemary and a weird lemon/citrus taste. The pie as a whole was very dry, and need more cheese (maybe a dollop of ricotta) to give it more flavor. Lunch was over $45 without tip for two pies, one side and one cocktail. Way too much for mediocre pizza. While I wish Squirrel best of luck , I think they are going to have to lower prices or change their format to be successful in the crowded pizza market here in Savannah. read more

The less-than-five-star reviews I've read here are utter bullshit and obviously paid for by competitors. The quality of food is excellent, the quality of service is excellent, the wait time is excellent, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is excellent. You may have qualms about my lack of imagination with my wording, but that is the only word to describe a business which has delivered on all fronts in an absolutely satisfactory manner. We enjoyed the wings, a red pizza with pepperoni, and a white pizza with lamb. Every single bite was delicious, and we would gladly spend the same amount to enjoy them again. In fact, even though we just ate there last night, we will be visiting again today. Those who say it is priced higher than they are used to - go back to eating rubber pizza from the local fast food chain pizza restaurants. This is not one of those restaurants. This is a sit-down, exquisite gourmet pizza experience. Treat it as such, and pay reasonable prices for a far-above-average dining experience. Those who don't understand most people want to be served quickly - why on earth would you order your food at the same time as your appetizer? You're a fool. Stop it. "They served my food, and it got cold because I didn't eat it in a timely manner." Congratulations, you're an idiot. For those who are confused by reality: "The space itself has been beautifully decorated, but it's a little confusing. Are they going for a pizza joint with a good cocktail program, or a bar/lounge that happens to serve pizza?" Gosh, how hard would it be to deliver both at once? Honestly, you reached Elite status without understanding that an establishment can be both a bar and a restaurant? What did you do, rate your mother's basement chicken fingers 300 times? This restaurant is amazing, and any reader who enjoys high quality pizza should definitely visit. The only complaint I have is that Yelp allows fools and shills to place obvious muckraker reviews. To the owners: I would love to see you branch out with more ingredients and an expanded menu. Eggs, bacon, arugula (a few suggestions); I could eat a carbonara pizza whole. read more

Just popped in for lunch after seeing some local buzz & had a great experience! To start, we tried the Korean buffalo wings & the chicken was SO good & tender. For pizza, I ordered the Benny Blanco Veggie & my boyfriend had the sausage + pepperoni. It's not cheap pizza, but you pay for what you get! Absolutely delicious wood-fired thin crust, fresh & local toppings, with friendly & attentive service. We're locals & we'll definitely be back! read more

$15 for a B- pizza the size of a flour tortilla. Just for fun, I did the math. Squirrel's = 15.73 cents per square inch Screaming Mimi's = 6.9 cents per square inch Vinny Van Go Go's = 6.7 cents per square inch So, expect to pay 2.5 times what you're accustomed to paying for a pizza. read more

Cute pizza place in an up and coming neighborhood. Went at 4 pm on a Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty dead. Ordered caprese salad which was very tasty, but it only came with four chunks of mozzarella, and those were tougher than how you would generally expect mozz to come. The pizza itself was phenomenal, but before I get too carried away, the pizzas aren't very big and two grown adults would each get just two filling slices. So Just don't expect to stuff yourself or have any to take home for later. But I would say quality is comparable to the price of about a $14 pie. You can tell all the quality they bring to the table so that typically leads to smaller portions, but thats ok. Overall, it looked like a cool place to chill and bring some friends. I'd definitely come back! read more

A to Z, great experience. When planning where we were going to dinner last night, we did the usual Yelp search and you all popped up. We almost looked you over, but are glad we decided to click and read the reviews. Once we saw how Chris responded to the negative reviews with the assurance of his craft, but determination to better the business with feedback, we decided we had to give it a shot. We strolled in around 9:05 (closed at 10, don't hate us) and were seated. The place looks great! The artwork was classy and comical, and the lighting and the bar gave a great aesthetic to the experience. We ordered cocktails, a Benny Blanco with lamb/beef, and a Sausage Pepperoni. Everything was phenomenal. The meat on the Benny was tender and the rosemary really added depth to the profile. The Saus-Pep was a little spicy and packed a whole lot of punch with the flavor. What we especially loved, though, was the vibe of the staff. As they were shutting down and we were in just past closing time, we could tell everyone loved the environment and it reflected through their attentiveness to us as well as how much they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. We will definitely be back to the Squirrel and look forward to bringing a round of friends next time! read more

I'm more a fan of New York style pizza, but decided to give this place a try. Not bad at all. Pizzas are a little on the small side. 10-12 inches or so. Probably would have been better if it weren't lukewarm when it got here, but that's not the fault of the restaurant as it was delivered by GrubHub. Was not a big fan of the wings, but I went for the pizza, so I'm happy. read more

Amazing pizza! Just wow! Took me back to Italy and the thin, airy crust was cooked to perfection. We started with a salad and hubs had a sloppy joe slider. The salad was much larger than I anticipated. It was simple but delicious. I prdered the seasonal vegetable pizza and hubs had the beef tenderloin white pizza and added Italian sausage. Pizzas arrived and the beef was left off hubs pizza. He ate the sausage pizza and didn't complain. They offered to make another and he refused. They made a beef tenderloin and sausage pizza and brought it to him in the box and apologized profusely. Jimmy was the bartender/waiter and was very thoughtful and kind to have done that. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this ace. Nice addition to the Starland District. read more

I've met far more efficient and tastier brick ovens. I initially thought the caprese salad was also cooked in the brick oven because it took so long. Alas it was not. Was decent nonetheless. There was nothing Korean about the Korean buffalo wings and wasn't overly impressed with them. The pizza was decent. Small place and a bit on high price for what it was. Oh.....an if you're gonna have beer have a beer menu or a chalk board to write the current rotation on. Waitress confirmed "not really a kid friendly place and not leaning towards making it so." Food mediocre+ but probably not worth the price. read more

I wanted to like this place. Great atmosphere, but the pizza is awful. It lacked flavor and was the consistency of cardboard.

Best Pizza + Wings in Savannah! This place is a gem on Bull Street. The modern ambience paired with delicious food options is a perfect spot for any foodie. The wings were incredible. Char-grilled with the right flavor combination. I prefer the buffalo wings. The wood-fire pizza was perfectly cooked! We ordered the pepperoni & sausage (pro-tip: add the tangy jalapeños). I loved my cocktail which had a smokey twist to the classic spicy margarita. We will definitely be back for more!! read more

I've tried Squirrel's twice. Both times I've enjoyed my tasty little pizza. I would go again since it is in my neighborhood. The restaurant is beautiful, but it still has some kinks to work out. Twice I've ordered their unsweetened iced tea after being told they have stevia. But after looking both times my server has told me they are out of stevia or Splenda or anything but sugar. It's the South. Iced tea and all the accompaniments are almost universal. I'm tired of ordering water. I liked my pizza. It is enough for one person or a small portion for two. As others have commented, this makes it somewhat pricey for a pizza. read more

Really really good pizza and excellent food. Kitchen just rocked it. Great sound track and really hip little place. Would be FIVE STARS, except: The only bad part was the servers who visibly shook, hopefully do to first day nerves, but no personality or happenings from the staff. Bartenders way proud of pretty average drinks and a basically sparse liquor and wine spread. Just make it, Fred! Food YAY!!!!!! Drinks and staff were enough to put me to sleep. read more

Squirrel's Pizza - The Blanco pizza and it is yummy - Pizza Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

Aesthetics are pleasing and the pizza is certainly a notch up from your typical pizza joint and way above what you get from those inedible chain pizzas. But the business model of only offering overpriced 12 inches pizzas, service issues, and attitude make this ultimately a losing proposition. I've had plenty of 'gourmet' wood-baked pizzas with homemade dough of Semolina 00 Flour, San Marzano tomatoes and Buffalo Mozz that didn't break the bank. To be sure, adding larger pies as an option and laying off the attitude would serve this quaint little spot well. There are many quality pizza options now available in Savannah and any place lacking in customer service is certainly going to suffer. Roll the dice and check it out at least once, you may enjoy yourself. read more

The food took over 45 min to arrive and once the 3 pizzas finally arrived were all burnt. I truly don't understand why do you have something on the menu if you cant make it?
