I was wondering what to eat and came across this joint. I had a good feeling about it. My significant other and I walked inside and unfortunately table service wasn't offered. I looked at the menu on the wall. There was a sign that stated 4% Higher with CRedit CArD . I looked at the menu the arrow pointed to. I went to the counter to order. The PIZZA section stated Our Pizzas are Hand Tossed to give you that Personal Touch! We went with a SMALL Cheese Pizza for $10.92. From the FRIED FOODS section, we got Cheese Curds for $6.24. From the same section, we got Mushrooms for $6.24. From the SIDE ORDERS section, we got Garlic Bread for $3.12. We sat at a table while we waited. Our order was ready fast. I was given a free menu, so that was cool. I was excited to try everything. All we had to do was get back to our place. We were given a free red sauce and a free ranch. The Cheese Pizza was beautiful. Every bite was delicious. The Cheese Curds were decent. With the red sauce, they were better. With the ranch, they were awesome. The Mushrooms were okay. With the red sauce, they were a little better. With the ranch, they were tasty. The Garlic Bread had a nice flavor. I enjoyed it. The service was great. I didn't have any issues. Best pie I've found in the area (beef sammich is also above average). ! I'm a bit spoiled and something of a snob when it comes to both and this place really delivers the goods. Super cheesy and quality meats. Giardinera is spicy but not inferno level. Staff is very friendly and if you know the industry everything about the ambience screams "excellence" ... the best part is the value, these prices are very reasonable. I placed my order by phone for pick up. The name sounded like an authentic Italian name but that's as far as it went. I had to stand outside while one patron was being served at the counter. Checking out the exterior looking in, I noticed all the handmade signs on cardboard pizza holders that were poorly phrased, written in marker and looked rather unprofessional, like a 7th grade homework assignment. Wear your mask! When I finally got inside, I noticed the " chefs" were very young females with their hair flying around, hoping not to discover any hair in my pizza later. Good sanitation includes taming and properly securing wild hair in any kitchen environment. The pizza in my opinion was not the best in the area. The crust had no taste and was like a basic cracker. The sauce was way too sweet for my liking and lacked the correct Italian seasonings. Also the sauce was too heavy for pizza. I paid almost $18 for an ordinary pizza. The value was not there. Unfortunately, I found the pizza at Squigi's to be an amateur rendition when novices run a pizza parlor. I'm sure the Squigi's pizza from back in the day was an awesome place to get a great pizza. Pizza on Broad Street in Griffith is a highly competitive beast. On one side you have John's Pizza and the other side is Villa Pizza, and in between is Squiggy's. A newcomer tried entering here but just recently closed because these three control the pizza market in this neighborhood. Now this actually was my first try at Sqiggy's. I love both John's and Villa almost the same except Villa has a slight edge thanks to their sausage pizza. So I came in trying to find something comparable to both. The first thing that surprised me, was you get a free two liter of soda for buying a large pizza I believe, score! And then I new the seating was limited, and it was with just two tables. Now for the pizza, the toppings were ok. There was a large amount of cheese, so expect your pizza to hold together well. The pizza dough was pretty tasty. I just wished the pepperoni and sausage was as tasty as they're competition. Price was the lowest of the three I believe which was a plus since you also got the free two liter. So overall a decent offering, if I'm looking to keep my budget down and want my pizza held together well and taste good then Squiggy's will see me again. read more

If you live at the Mansards they won't deliver even if you pay via card ahead. Per the owner its "sketchy" which is what he told the guy on the phone to tell me. I understand this apartment complex doesn't have the best of reputations due to how it used to be years ago but it was the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. The delivery person would have arrived and left before it was even dusk. If that's their stance then they should include that somewhere on their Facebook page. read more

Rarely does one come across a local pizzeria of thus flavorful caliber. Sguigis pizza has never come second in my choices whenever I'm in Griffith. It's literally the first stop I make anytime I get a chance to visit from Indianapolis. There's no substitute in quality or service, especially in a city. Nothing taste like home as much as them. The Kime family and their operation has kept me a loyal and joyful customer since my first time eating there. The homestyle quality is impossible to duplicate and nothing compares to the flesh taste of ingredients their pizza is made of. With the availability of so many topping and options it'd be impossible not to come across a combination that suited your tastes, personally I recommend the Don Style on any pizza. Everything else they have to offer is great too, but the pizza just tops it all. Besides the amazing food, the owners and employees are phenomenal. Everyone is cheerful and the atmosphere is always pleasant. I've spent many nights eating in with friends, we're never rushed and always happily greeted. I know whenever I go in, whoever I get, I'm going to get the best help they can give me. Not to mention the owners continual support of multiple causes with the town and their supporting of their employees. Squigis is my number one recommendation to all my friends and family, theyve even gone to the great length of freezing a pizza for me to bake back in Indy to share with all my friends here. It is not saucy Pizza and the sauce is more on the sweeter side, my kids liked it a lot. This is more of a take out place and not a dine in. My wife and I were right around the corner and we were VERY hungry, so I pulled over and checked Yelp for, uh, help. We are visiting from IL, so we wanted to try something different. Imagine that, a pizza joint about 500' away! Pretty good reviews, and it sounded like a unique place. It's unique alright, at least in 2012. This place took me back to the 1970s, and a pizza place we used to go to in my home town of Aurora, IL. To describe this place as a hole in the wall is an understatement. Those comments shouldn't be taken as negative remarks, they're just observations. We ate in, and sat at one of the 2 booths, since there was no other option. Nothing fancy here folks! Just a few touches of funky decor, a soda cooler, and a window for orders and pickups. All that's fine, as we expected nothing more. So on to the food... We ordered some cheese garlic bread, for an appetizer, since we were told our pizza would take about 1/2 hour. It took a while for the bread to arrive, but it was very good. Now for the pizza... First, I have to say that they really pile on the toppings, and a lot of pizza went home with us! We basically ordered a large garbage pizza with a thin crust. The thin crust was our mistake, because it couldn't support all the junk we ordered on the pizza. With the cheapest of cheap paper plates and no utensils, things got real messy real fast. No problem for me, but the wife doesn't like to get her fingers dirty while dining. She's one classy lady. Anyway, I like the fact that they use a lot of sauce. That's a big plus in my book! The sauce was a bit bland though. So was the sausage. All the other ingredients were plentiful and flavorful. Lots of cheese, too. If you're a cheese lover, you'll appreciate that. So overall, I think we agreed that this was a good pizza, but far from the best we've ever had. The neighborhood seems to like it a lot more though! A couple of enthusiastic customers came in to pick up their dinner, and raved about the place, letting us know they wouldn't let their kids eat at Pizza Hut when Squigi's was available! FYI...check your pizza before leaving. This was first time order and I was very specific on what I wanted....med thin crust, extra sauce, light cheese, ground sausage, and "don" style. The total was $14.71 ...so I know it was rung on pizza ticket...plus $3 cash( tip just because). I called back , no answer. 9ish..maybe closed??...anyway...I certainly did not get "don" nor the extra sauce. Who checks the order?? considering take-out is your main business it would be nice to be done the way its ordered. I wouldnt have cared IF someone said, "hey we forgot to blah blah and we took the extra coin off " . 2 people working and I was prob last order. Im not sure if anyone cares or what...but the last order should be cooked the same as the first. OR...show the pizza before leaving. I used to get Squigi's all the time from this location. I know the Griffith and Highland Squigi's say they're not affiliated, but in the 90s their pizzas were nearly identical. Now, not so much. I ordered from this location for the first time in a while and my pizza came out super bland with a plain, dry crust and boring sauce. Even the pepperoni didn't taste right. So I guess I'm back to sticking with the Highland location. There's definitely a difference. read more

Squigi's is the best pizza in town! Nothing else can be topped! There's a pizza my heart for this place. Not only is the pizza great, but so are the fried foods! I recommend the fried pickles, chicken strips, cream jalapeño poppers, cheese sticks, fried green beans, and wings! Not to mention the excellent variety of sandwiches on the menu. My family has ordered delivery from Squigi's for years now. My husband is probably your biggest fan. We always get a large 3 topping pizza (which comes with a free 2 liter of pop) and usually a couple orders of fried mushrooms and/or cauliflower. Personally, I appreciate a better deal from another pizzeria, located only blocks away. But, in a pinch, Squigi's has always been more than willing to accommodate me with my pizza preferences. Such as flour instead of cornmeal on the bottom of the pizza, as well as light on the sauce etc. For that I give them 3 solid stars!! However, I do wish they would beef up their menu with fried chicken to compete with other mentioned pizzerias. Then I might become their biggest fan also read more
