Pizza Cellar - Sausage and pepperoni deep dish - Pizza Near Me - Crown Point, Indiana

I tried pizza cellar for the first time last week and it was so good I got it again today! I like the thin crust but the deep dish is my favorite. It's not really a standard deep dish but more a thicker crust with a sauce swirl on top. The sauce is home made and so is the sausage which is FANTASTIC. The pizza also reheats really well so go for the XL. Sauce is sweet and the price is a little higher than other places in the area but it's worth it!!! read more

Wow, this is great pizza! Got a deep dish/pan with sausage and it's amazing. I'm writing this review after just one slice. Blew my mind! If you're looking for a go-to spot with great food, great service, and great deals, this is the spot! read more

Excellent! Moved out here from the Oak Lawn area and have not found anything I've liked. Grew up eating Palermo's, Phil's, Nino's and Papa Joe's. Finally after being here for 3 years now I'm home. I have my pizza place! Friendly service went out of their way to make our order just right. We picked it up and got a call that they forgot an item in our order. They sent the delivery driver straight to our house and even added some garlic bread. Perfect place that values their customers. We most definitely will be back. read more

A great find! Perfect thick crust pizza with a golden crust. Homemade sauce and sausage, LOADED with cheese. Both thin and thick are yummy but the thick crust pan pizza is definitely the star. The owner was a super nice guy too. Will definitely be back when coming back through the area. read more

Really interesting pan pizza. Thin crust is good it's just more bang for your buck to get the pan. Kinda of like a Chicago style higher end Pizza Hut. They have decent deals. Not exactly cheap but it's good quality so it makes sense. I really like it! read more

Pizza is amazing a little pricey but so worth it! Me and my fiancé enjoy the flavor of pizza sauce and sausage.

First time trying some pizza from crownpoint and the review saying it was "THE BEST PIZZA THEY HAVE EVER HAD" I had to try it. The whole process from calling to picking up the pizza was quick, friendly, and easy going. The owner even told me how everything id homemade and trust me you can tell!!! I will only be eating here from now on because of how unique the pizza is and the attention to detail makes it out of this world!!!! I would recommend it to everyone! read more

GREAT Chicago deep dish! Fresh herb and tomato sauce; gooey cheese and crispy deep crust. Worth it!

Everything is mediocre except the sausage. But the sausage pizza was best I've had in years and I just moved here from Chicago. Can't wait to try the sausage and beef sandwich. read more

We travelled to the Dunes today and decided to stay in Merrillville. We were near crown point so we decided to get carry out pizza from Pizza Cellar. THIS IS THE BEST PAN PIZZA I HAVE EVER EATEN! I am not exaggerating! I have had pizza at many of the top Chicagoland restaurants, and had my fair share of pizza styles. The pizza sauce is by far the most delicious I have ever eaten! The cheese stretch on these beauties are incredible! They do not hold back on the cheese! My son and girlfriend both said it is the best pan pizza they've ever eaten too! In fact, my girlfriend does not even like pan pizza, and this place converted her to the pan side we will definitely return and tell everyone about this legend! read more

After a long day of hiking at Indiana Dunes National Park, I decided I wanted pizza, particularly Chicago style deep dish pizza. Since Chicago was an additional 45 minutes away from my hotel, I decided to find something local. Am I glad I listened to the reviews and ordered a deep dish pizza from here! The pizza was absolutely delicious. Ordered a medium deep dish pizza with mushrooms, spinach and garlic. Would definitely recommend ordering pizza from here. Stay away from the generic chain shops and support the local businesses! read more

Pizza Cellar - Deep dish pizza with mushrooms, spinach and garlic - Pizza Near Me - Crown Point, Indiana

It was an adventure getting over to Pizza Cellar especially with the bridge construction closing off a major artery to I-80/94 and I-65. Also my GPS link from the Yelp app had me get off an exit further and led me through a subdivision and cemetery before telling me my destination was on SR55. Wrong! It was just after 4pm when I reached the wrong spot. I pulled into a funeral home parking lot and called PC. The lady answering the phone was friendly as she gave me the right directions and then I went ahead and placed my order. She gave the estimated time for pickup at 30 minutes. I arrived in a little over 20 and waited the remaining time in their parking lot. I made my way to the store where I was greeted and presented with a PC magnet for future ordering ease. She explained how most everything in the pizza is made fresh daily, including the dough, cheese, and sausage. Another server bought out the pizza and opened it for my review. It looked great and I was eagerly itching to make the 28 minute journey home. D was eagerly waiting at home for the pizza delivery as well. The only thing stopping me from swiping a slice and eating it in the parking lot was not wanting to make a mess. Ohh..and I guess D too...LOL. As if I didn't have enough obstacles getting there, I encountered heavy traffic and an accident on Broadway and 109th. Thankfully the police were there diverting traffic so a few minutes later I went in a different direction and caught I-65 later. So the pizza was lukewarm by the time I got home but we didn't want to reheat it and proceeded to chow down. OMG the pizza was so good. The dough is a bit denser than Lou's and it filled you up in a good way. The crust had a very nice crunch to it as well and I like it better than Miller Pizza's. The sauce was the boss and it was plenty cheesy as well. D kept singing its praises saying that he will send me back to get more. Overall I think their pizza was great and was worth the drive. Even with the distance it is closer than the nearest Lou's. The only thing that would make them even greater is if they make frozen pies that you can take to go and reheat another day similar to how Lou does. Pizza Cellar lives up to the hype. Yay! read more

DUDE this place is FIRE! This was the best pizza I've probably ever had. I can't even describe the deep dish crust. They do some sort of magical wizardry to get that crunchy, buttery crust. Deep dish was amazing, go get it, you won't be disappointed! True Italian Chicago pizza!! read more

I recently moved to crown point and this was our first time trying pizza in the area. I definitely think my search is over. The Pizza Cellar definitely knows how to make a good pizza. The sauce is slightly sweet which I absolutely love. The crust is nice and crisp. We will definitely be ordering here on pizza nights. Also, the customer service here is outstanding. The gentleman who answered the phone and gave us our pizza is very polite and friendly. Overall the Pizza Cellar is 10/10. Highly recommended. read more

Reminiscent of Lou Malnati in it's heyday. Perfectly cooked deep dish pepperoni pizza. Excellent sauce. The larger pies are a better value, but since it was just me, I got the small. read more

Can't give it any stars but had to give one because it won't let ya give zero stars! I'm only giving this place the one star because they were closed at 9pm on Monday April 3rd when they should of been open from what there hours say there open to 10! Not so!! Very disappointed no sign no morning about emergency they just weren't there I even drove up there thinking maybe they got busy and nope got there 9:10pm and nobody there and all light were shut off! I've never heard of this place before I thought I would try something different because I'm tired of spending $40 for a large pizza from many of the places around here I looked around, did some searching and found the reviews here. I ordered the beef combo sandwich, and it was the best I have ever had. I would definitely recommend this place!!! read more

I discovered this place while looking for something new to try. My god is it good!! Chicago quality in NW Indiana! The sausage and pepperoni is fresh and the sauce is just right. The deep dish pizza that we got in addition to the thin crust dominates in this area. The owner/manager is really cool and he knows his pizza in both IL and IN. Some will complain of the pricing but to that the owner and myself say for good quality pizza expect to pay more. Also this comes from a guy that will not hesitate to drive 45 min to an hour for some good Southside pizza. Now I found a place where I don't have to. Take a look at the pics that I took. read more

Amazing pizza I have it every time I come home to Princeton. Always great service and love the sitting down and eating.

We were in the area and picked-up a pepperoni and sausage deep dish pizza from here on a Saturday night. It was one of the best Chicago style pizzas I've ever had. The sauce they use is not chunky like many Chicago style pizzas, which we really liked. read more

I drove 20 minutes to get here, after seeing the good reviews. I was very disappointed to find no seating and no pizza slices to try before Icommittoa pie. Let me start this review by saying I have had really terrible experiences with Chicago style pizza. The crust is always undercooked and can't stand up to the toppings (ie the mess that is giordanos). This was the BEST deep dish pizza I have ever had. Not just the best deep dish, but one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The sauce was absolute perfection, the toppings were plentiful, and the crust -- oh the crust! It was pillowy, thick, and so perfectly cooked. I couldn't wait to take the next bite! The next time I'm up in this area, I'll definitely be making a stop at pizza cellar. These guys know what they're doing! read more

We ordered the mozzarella sticks and a medium pan (deep dish) sausage and 1/2 garlic. The pizza was huge!! Nice crispy crust, awesome sauce, delicious chunk sausage, all in All it was one of the better pizzas in the area. The garlic, not so much. It was as if it was thrown on after the pizza was finished, I wasn't a fan. Besides that, nothing to complain about at all. We will definitely be back for the pan pizza!!! read more

What an absolute hidden gem!!! I am new to the area and saw some great reviews of the Pizza Cellar! We ordered a large deep dish with sausage, a large thin with pepperoni and meatball, their spinach salad, and their gelato! When we got to the restaurant, the owner was incredibly kind! We took the food home and it was absolutely worth every penny!!! I will definitely be coming back here again!!! read more

I love their deep dish. It's always consistently good. Their sausage and crust is always delicious. I wish they would offer green peppers as a topping - and not a mixture of yellow and red and green only. Also- their thin crust is a bit pricey. However, their deep dish is the best in CP, and it is worth every penny. read more

The guy say on the phone, " it's better than that Chicago stuff." My first thought was, I think someone has been sniffing to much of the yeast. I can say that it is a strong contender for anything Gino's, Giordano's or my favorite Lou Malnati's that being said, the value for the dollar being spent is awesome. Great pizza flavor and great value. read more

Moved to the top of the list for favorite pizza! Walked-in and asked for a recommendation for my first time order. Was recommended to get the deep dish with sausage. In town on business and happy to make the 15 minute drive to get some dinner. The sauce is really flavorful, I could have even used an extra side for dunking. Toppings are very generous. Ended up chatting with the owner when I picked up my order - unexpected, but very welcoming guy. Worth the drive and get the deep dish. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, I got the 12" deep dish and could only eat half :) read more
