I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Aurelio's in Crown Point. Today I was told they will no longer deliver to my home because they claim I yelled at a delivery driver on my move-in day back in September 2025. This accusation is completely untrue. I had several people here helping me that day, and they can all confirm that I did not yell at the driver. What makes this even more frustrating is that I have placed numerous delivery orders with them since that date without any issue. Yet today, when I called, I was suddenly told I could no longer receive delivery because of this alleged incident. To make matters worse, the manager I spoke with began yelling at me during the call, which was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. The entire interaction was upsetting and frankly despicable. My family and I have been frequent customers of this Aurelio's location, which we've always found to be one of the cleanest and most updated in the area. Yesterday, however, was an extremely disappointing experience. When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty except for a few customers finishing up. We placed our drink, appetizer, and pizza order. While we were waiting for the appetizer we noticed the place getting busier as more families came in. We were waiting over 30 minutes for our appetizer while watching others who arrived after us receive their food, we started wondering what was going on. We searched for our server, and my fiancée noticed him off to the side on his phone. When we asked about our appetizer, he admitted he forgot to put in our order but said he would take it off the bill if it didn't come out quickly. A little over five minutes later, the appetizer finally arrived, but we noticed a family who came in after us was already served their pizza. When we asked the server if he had forgotten our pizza order as well, his only response was, 'I'm trying...,' which didn't really explain much. In total, we waited close to an hour for our pizza. During this time, we considered speaking to a manager and canceling the order, but decided to wait until we finished and discuss it when paying. At the register, I asked to speak to a manager, and the gentleman behind the counter claimed he was the manager. I explained the situation, and his response was that the mistake was entirely on the server and there was nothing he could do about it. I expressed frustration that it was their employee's distraction that led to the issue, and he showed no concern for our experience. The server came over and tried to remove the appetizer from the bill, but the 'manager' snapped at him, saying he needed to call the boss for approval. After a few minutes, he angrily returned and took a mere $4 off our $50 bill. I told him we would not be returning, to which he coldly responded, 'That's up to you.' As I returned to the table to gather my family, I overheard the 'manager' talking loudly to the kitchen staff, claiming there was no way we waited an hour and that if it were him, he would've spoken up sooner. I called him back to the counter and confronted him, offering to prove the time we arrived using Google's timeline feature. When I asked why he was calling customers liars, he refused to give his name and walked away. We've been loyal customers of Aurelio's across Chicagoland and Indiana for years, but after this experience, never again. Mistakes happen, but all that was required was basic courtesy and customer service. Instead, we were met with insults and poor management. Craving Chicago pizza - Texas pizza doesn't come close. Stopped at this restaurant near our hotel. Started out as a dine in pizza dinner and after 45 minutes requested it to go. Carry out area just inside the entrance. Small dingy and dark dining area to one side and nobody to direct you to seat your self or not so we did anyway. There was one 20 person group who had finished eating and two smaller groups of 5-6 people also eating. No wait staff visible. Regular stream of people picking up pizzas but nobody in the dining room being served. Saturday night at 6pm. Waitress finally arrived for our order after we'd seated ourselves. Other people were confused about seating and walked into the dining area and out trying to figure it out. No signage to help. After all the group tables were gone and waitress cleaned up other tables we flagged her down and requested ours to go. After an hour all in we finally got our boxed pizza but stood in line at the carry out station for 8-10 minutes with the pizza to pay. Pizza was just ok based on others I have had at other Aurelio's restaurants. Cheese was barely melted and toppings were arranged with all meat in the center so a third of the pizza had no meat. Yes - still better than spongy crusted no sauce Texas pies. Takeout probably a better experience at this location. read more

Full of watery, yellow and brown iceberg lettuce, a couple pieces of pepperoni, ONE slice of cheese, 1 piece of ham and a bunch of red pepper. Called to complain and they wanted me to drive the salad back if I wanted a refund. The person on the phone was rude and clearly had no intention of doing service recovery. Great pizza but the dining room was like a meat locker. I asked the waitress if she could adjust the thermostat to make it warmer but she said it gets hot in the kitchen if the A/C isn't set low enough. Patrons fortunate to have hoodies had them covering their heads. if they only have one A/C unit they should close the vents in the dining room. Always dependable and consistant. Ask for light sauce because they lay it on thick. Lots of topping choices make for great customizing. I'm a big fan of veggies and love being able to add bunches. As I was expressing my complaint, the general manager kept talking over me and when I asked her shut up and listen to me she threatened to hang up. Ordered loaded fries that had no online discriptiin but was pictured with cheese and bacon. It came to us with tons of raw onions. They we nasty. The only negative is that Diet Pepsi was the only diet drink offered and it's terrible. Diet Mountain Dew is a better alternative. We will definitely be back for more. read more

I'm writing this as I stare at my pizza in the garbage bin, sad but true. This location is one to avoid, in my opinion. I fell in love with Aurelio's 30 years ago when I lived in Illinois so finding a location in Crown Point after moving down here was a relief, until I tried them today. I ordered a pizza but did not eat it and explain why in my review here. I ordered online for the first time - then called to see if I could do delivery instead and the guy that answered said he could only cancel my order and then we'd do a new order which was fine...but he just couldn't figure it out. Meanwhile, the entire time on the phone waiting for him to try to cancel the order, other staff were loud and goofing around. One was constantly sneezing so I asked if that was the cook, the guy just laughed. I asked again and he said no, that's the delivery driver. I told him to tell him to cover his mouth when sneezing and the guy just laughed. He couldn't figure out how to cancel so I said fine, I'd pick it up. 40 minutes later, no notification or text from their online system saying my pizza was ready so I called the store. Same guy answers, says "yeah, we were supposed to do that on our end but just said 'screw it'".....um, what??? I show up 5 minutes after that to pick up my pizza - only two guys there, the one I had talked to twice on the phone and the cook who was making a pizza AND SNEEZING EVERYWHERE WITHOUT COVERING HIS MOUTH!!!! The guy at the counter was acting really weird - it is obvious he doesn't care about his job and the cook obviously doesn't care about health and safety and they'll lie to you because they just don't care! I said 'this location gets mixed reviews' and the guy says (as he's laughing) "yeah, the people that don't like us is because of their own stupidity" - I'm not kidding here, this is verbatim!!! Seriously?? You employ people like this to represent the Aurelio's brand?? Never again will I patronize this location and I strongly urge others not to as well because if their management isn't willing to monitor their employees or train them in customer service or fire them for generally not caring about customer satisfaction and especially our health and safety, why the hell should we give them our hard-earned cash?? This really is the bottom line for any business. I should have asked for my money back and left the pizza but I think I was still in a bit of bewilderment about the whole experience that autopilot took over and I just got the pizza and left. However, as I couldn't stop myself from saying "really?" over and over again the entire drive home, I decided I'd relay my experience here after tossing the pizza in the garbage. This place makes incredible pizzas, especially their thin crust. Whatever cheese blend they're using is amazing. And they aren't shy with the toppings; they pile them on. We had their chicken wings to start, which had great flavor and some good spicy heat. I'd skip ordering the toasted ravioli though. We had four hungry people in our party and ordered way too much food. The thin crust fiesta size pizza is their largest and can easily feed 4-6 people. Their medium thin crust can feed 3-4. And their 10" stuffed pizza can feed 2-3. Super fresh ingredients and the flavor and toppings were so well balanced. Their wait staff was so friendly and helpful. The facility and restrooms are clean. AND, bonus: they have a pinball machine in the back! Next time I'm in Crown Point, I will definitely stop by. read more

Kind of average pizza here. Not great, not horrible. The problem I have is that at the price of eating out these days, the food should be great. I understand while the fixed costs, wages and supplies are out of their hands, for continued survival the food has to be way above average. We've noticed a trend lately where many restaurants product has declined in quality or taste, especially the regions once famous pizza trade. Here's hoping they all do a few focus groups to get back on a higher track. read more

There are two pizza places that frequent often. One is in the Chicago area, Aurelios and then my favorite in Louisiana near one of my manufacturing locations. Normally I wouldn't hesitate to give Aurelios 5 stars but this location lacks some things that the other dozen or so locations have. First, the dining area is pretty plain and it just doesn't have the cozy Italian feel that many locations hold. Second, the service is hit or miss. One day the server is great and the next time they are slow, forget things, etc. The food here has always been very good so for that part I give it 5 stars but the service and atmosphere are more like 3.5. If you want the best pizza in he area then make this your stop. I should note that this isn't a cheap pizza and you won't find a $5.00 medium here. An XL with several toppings will run you about $30 but the taste is worth it. Treat yourself! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS AURELIO'S. For decades, I've been ordering sausage and mushroom pizzas from Aurelio's. Last Friday, the Crown Point location erroneously sent me a pepperoni and sausage pizza. I informed the restaurant of the error and was promised a new pizza. Satisfied, I discarded the "mistake" pizza and settled in to wait for the replacement pie. A few minutes later, I received a call from Aurelio's and was instructed to return the "mistake" pizza to the delivery driver. I informed the caller that subject pizza had been discarded. To my astonishment, the caller instructed me to DIG THROUGH THE TRASH. I'm wheelchair bound. Digging through trash cans isn't an option for me. I've patronized Aurelio's for over forty years. Apparently, my patronage meant nothing to them. Probably yours won't either. read more

Nothing bad to say about customer service, and can't say I have had anything to eat from here. I love Aurelio's in general, however, I find myself in a predicament that somehow I live smack dab in the middle between the crown point and Griffith locations. Which equals to a 10-12 minute drive for each. I am denied delivery because I am "out of district". I have been a lifetime customer for close to 25 years and it boggles my mind they don't care to lose a valued customer who spent $150 plus a month. Well done aurelios.... well done read more

I've been coming here for years, I've seen a lot of new faces in that time but never any complaints. It's our favorite pizza in the region hands down. Anyways, tonight our order was accidentally swapped with someone else's. No biggie - accidents happen and it definitely wasn't our favorite pizza combo we got but we still ate it. After eating I got a call, it was the manager Dana (I'm horrible with Names but it was Dana or Donna) and she basically asked if the order was correct and I told her no it wasn't but no big deal. But she was Like hey we messed up how can I make it right? She was going to deliver another but we ate and we're full so I kindly declined. But she wanted to make it right so she HAND DELIVERED a gift certificate to my house for a replacement pizza at the end of her shift. I've been down on my luck lately and this honestly brought so much warmth into my heart and I'm just all around super happy with this location and their manager Dana for going above and beyond. I expect more from Aurelio's. We went here after a day of shopping and having a huge craving for thin crust pizza. When we entered there was no one to greet us in the restaurant. The restaurant atmosphere and decor was dirty and not comforting, you didn't get the feeling of wanting to sit and enjoy. We sat at a table and waited for someone to come out to greet us and give us menus. I went to the bathroom and found both toilets clogged with dirty water and toilet paper. When I came out our waitress had finally appeared. She did some seem friendly or welcoming. I politely informed her of the issue in the bathroom so they could fix it. She said "oh" and walked away. Not "Thank you for telling us, we'll get on it." We ordered our pizza.....After about 20 minutes I finally saw the bus boy go over to the bathrooms, he came out a short time later with a plunger that dripped across the seating area of the restaurant as he returned to the kitchen. I couldn't believe what I saw and health codes immediately came to mind. The pizza was as expected - but the feeling of being in a dirty restaurant made it taste not so great. read more

This is my all time favorite pizza from Northwest Indiana. I have never strayed away from ordering there thin crust pizza. Their sauaage really is good and their topping are exceptional. Last night I went with the Super 6 combination which has sausage,ham, pepperoni, onion, green pepper, and mushroom. Soo good! I also ordered their tomatoe bread which is fantastic. It is garlic bread with bruschetta and tons of fresh provalone and mozzarella melted on top with fresh orefano on top. A definite must try! read more
