I wasn't sure what to eat and then I encountered this place. It felt right to me. My significant other and I walked inside and unfortunately table service wasn't offered. I picked up a free menu and saw what they had. We decided to do a Carry Out order and then went to the counter to order. From the Local Favorites section, we got a Small 12" Pepperoni Lovers for $13.45. It stated Start with our homemade thin crust pizza covered with our signature sauce topped with a layer of pepperoni, then cheese and topped with more pepperoni. From the Salads section, we got a rico's House Salad for $6.25. It was Crisp lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, green peppers, ham and American cheese. In the same section, it stated All salads include your choice of dressing: House made Italian, French, 1,000 Island, Honey Mustard, Ranch. We chose Ranch. The ORDER, COLLECT & SAVE section stated With each pizza, carry out or delivery, you will receive a Rico's Exclusive Coupon. The Hot Sandwiches section stated Served on a toasted french roll. I went with a Triple Cheese for $4.50. It was Provolone, Swiss and American cheeses on dark rye bread served hot. My significant other got a Triple Cheese as well. I sat down while I waited. Our order was ready fairly fast. I was excited to try everything. All we had to do was get back to our place. The Pepperoni Lovers was beautiful. I had to admire it before I tried it. It was very tasty. The rico's House Salad was okay. It wasn't worth getting, though. We got a Rico's Exclusive Coupon with our pizza, so that was cool. The Triple Cheese was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it. I ended up eating some of my significant other's Triple Cheese and I enjoyed it as well. The service was alright. Family member went to pick up pizza and was told there was no order. On the phone was told 30 minutes. After contacting them. I was told I was on hold when the order was taken, which I was not at all. Upon talking to someone on the phone I was told I was taking to her like a piece of sh** and was given someone else. That if xourse made me angry. Stop making excuses, for not taking the order. I was even hung up on,accident or not twice and of course they wouldn't own up to that. Mistakes happen, maybe be more apologetic when the order got messed up. It looks like a dive but it is the best thin crust that I have tasted in the area since I moved into the area 3 years ago. Pepperoni, sausage and jalapeño is our family favorite and it is the best thin crust in the area. This is my 1st time trying the business. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs and a salad. When I returned 20 minutes later, they had no meatballs. How about some type of meat from the pizza at least. So I get home and the spaghetti has no italian flavoring at all. Just bland plain spaghetti. I was told this pizza was awesome by a couple of people and decided to give Rico's pizza of Lansing, a try. While the pizza is a hearty and robust with plentiful ingredients, I did not care for the flavor. I guess it's an acquired taste but to me the pizza had a strong, sharp taste to the sauce I personally felt was overpowering. They added Worcester or Maggi flavoring, or something similar, which masked the natural tomato base of the sauce. If you like that flavoring or spice on your pizza fine but as for me, it tasted odd. The pizza slices were cut way too small as well, like 2 inches by 2 inches. Not bad but I've had better. read more

I don't like onions so I got the pizza sauce. SO GOOD! U get a generous portion for a VERY reasonable $--including a sandwich-size serving of garlic bread and a bit of cheese to sprinkle over the top. Yup, still the best in the area. They know their pizza. There is Rosati's in Munster. We go there if we need a pizza fix earlier in the day. However Ricos makes pizza the best in the area. The ingredients are quality. Also Ricos get's their crust crisp...even in the middle of the pizza. The whole pizza is crisp! Rosati's can't achieve this. I noticed that they accept credit cards too. Ordered here Friday even at 415. The pizza didn't get delivered until 530 and was BURNT. Not only that but I ordered what was listed on the menu, a Pepperoni Lovers Pizza, and the woman taking my order spent a minute arguing with me that she'd never even heard of it. I don't think I'll be trying this place again. That's too much for one night. There are too many restaurants doing a good job for me to argue over a menu AND get a burnt pizza. read more

The pizza was not bad. Nothing special, better than your average chain pizza place. The problem is customer service, spent the first 10 mins on "hold"not really hold they just set the phone down and I could here the conversations in background. I definitely would not give them your card info over the phone, I could clearly hear the person on the other line giving there card info over the phone. Then over 2hrs later my pizza arrived, was only supposed to be about 1hr, so I called and was put on "hold" again. I won't be ordering delivery from here again. Rico's is and has been one of the best pizza places in the area. The thin pizza is always packed with cheese, I love their sauce and, if you like crispy crust, this is a pizza you're going to love. I just tried this pizza for the first time and loved it. The ingredients were fresh and the crust was crisp. Delicious. Lower rating is due to long wait and health concerns. I arrived 5 min after pick-up time and waited another 10+ min because they were back-logged. Another star was removed because they are following no health protocols relating to the pandemic. I had to go inside into a small enclosed space to stand in line to pay for my order alongside customers who were not wearing masks. What really surprised me was that none (zero) of the 6-8 people working there and preparing food were not wearing masks. Best pizza in the area by far! Thin crispy crust, but not that weird cracker-like crust like some places around here. Sauce is pretty basic but it's the perfect amount. Service is a little rough, they've been here forever, they are usually super busy and expect you to know what you want.
