We ordered a medium sausage deep dish pizza and a small house salad. The salad was good and fresh. The pizza...YUM YUM YUM! Deep dish sausage checks all the right boxes, their crust is cornmeal based, it's both crispy and doughy, the sauce is not typical deep dish, it is more pureed than chunky and very flavorful (it's my favorite part), the cheese and sausage were fantastic. It's been a minute since I've ordered a Beggars Pizza for DELIVERY instead of PICK-UP. I questioned Ashley Beggars Pizza why I'm being charged $4.99 for DELIVERY , when I asked my delivery guy does that money goes towards him, and he stated it in fact goes to the house? Her response was that this common practice!!!! She couldn't even tell me what is it used for since I'm getting the SAME Cardboard Box I would get when I do pick up. I told her this is the 1st I'm hearing of this‼ Fortunately, I had the mindset to give him the $5 when he told me this, before I called Beggars! So essentially I PAID $10 deliver on a $26 Pizza. What an absolute disappointment. $40 for a family pizza with a few toppings and completely underwhelming. Whatever happened to "we lay it on thick"? Crust was too thin and weirdly chewy not crisp whatsoever. Complete and absolute lack of cheese. They used to put enough cheese and toppings that you would worry about getting the pizza home without all the toppings sliding off. Unfortunately, not anymore. My first experience with Beggar's Pizza, and it was perfect. A friend who lives in Lansing had recommended Beggars several years ago and I just hadn't gotten around to trying it yet. But I'm working in Hammond, my hotel isn't far from Beggars so I decided to give it a try. I ordered online for pickup, and my pizza was ready at the quoted time. Parking was easy, at the side of the building. The carry out entrance is at the rear of the building. I ordered a small deep dish with red onions and mushroom. I had considered ordering extra sauce and extra cheese because some of the reviews had mentioned that the cheese and sauce were skimpy. But there was no need to order extra, there was a generous amount of both cheese and sauce. My pizza was delicious. It was perfectly baked- neither too light nor too dark. And I am very picky about my pizza "bake." While I ordered my pizza for carry out, this would be a fun place to dine it. The building is very unique and would offer a nice atmosphere to enjoy a meal. When I picked up my pizza the employees were very friendly. It appeared that they were doing a brisk carry out business. Very happy with my experience here. read more

This was suggested to us and I'm happy we gave it a shot. The pizza was really good although I preferred by far the cheese over the sausage/mushroom. My wife had the gluten free, which she liked but she wasn't a fan of the ham on top. How can a family owned business and franchise be different? Same name, same business model, same ingredients etc... and differ with honoring the military discount at this location? When I asked if they honor my military discount I was told no!!! I asked why, and I was told "we don't honor military discount" because we are family owned. Oh, Beggars. You leave me so conflicted. On the one hand, they sell what is my absolute favorite pizza in Lansing. Their motto is "We lay it on thick", and boy that's the truth. I love getting just a basic pepperoni from here, because even if you don't order extra cheese, it feels like you did. There's SO MUCH OF IT, and that's a great change of pace from the scant toppings of rival chains in the area. On the other hand, holy wow are they overpriced. Their mozzarella sticks are super delicious, but I can't even afford to get them every time I order. Over $6 for an order? I can get them for 4 or 5 at other pizza places on the same street. Their sandwiches are overpriced too. The Chicken Italiano sandwich is pretty good, but it's pretty average for the $8, especially since it doesn't even come with fries. You have to order those as a separate add-on. The service is also hit and miss. Sometimes the people are the nicest, sweetest people who seem so genuinely happy to see you or hear from you (even though I'm sure that's not the case). Sometimes they act like you're committing a heinous crime by daring to order food. There's one girl that answers the phone often when we call that always seems irritated and hurried. I'd come here for the pizza, whether you get deep dish or thin crust it's going to be delicious. But if you're thinking about getting other menu items, I'd go elsewhere. And don't be offended if the girl on the phone is pissy with you; I don't think it's personal. If you dine in, some nights there's live organ music which depending on your stance on the matter can be a lovely treat or a night to avoid. read more

Once a month we meet with some of our friends at a restaurant this time we chose the Beggars and Lansing not because of the pizza which is good I don't eat cheese but I've had cheese pizza from Beggars many times but because between 630 and 830 on Friday night This 1927 theater has an Oregon that covers one entire wall. An old pipe organ and the organist comes out sits down at the Oregon which then rises up out of the ground and plays this organ and takes request. It's a great experience and something you should take your kids to Friday night I had a green salad with grilled chicken and my choice of dressings and it was terrific. Everybody else was very happy with the peaches they ordered. They also have a cauliflower flower crust for those people that don't want to eat gluten this is an easy five star and I can't understand why it would have a three star rating on this site because it's a great place. read more

Horrible manager!!! Horrible service!! We had a party of 26 people we ordered 7 pizzas 50 wings 26 drinks they was out of a diet drinks. So we asked could we purchase the 2 liter they have. The manger said no because people would see the 2 liter on our table and could possibly steal one from the front. Then they wouldn't be able to keep count. Lol. This used to be my go to spot in the area for pizza but in the last six months I've ordered pizza three times once it was delivered to the wrong spot and two times I've had to call because it's been more than 15 minutes after meant to be delivered and my pizza is still at the store..
