This place is cozy and personal, but has a bar room with a stage, a dining room, an outdoor patio, and a speak-easy cigar bar. The decor is l is eclectic but real. Clearly hand picked, and their slogan is inspirational. It's family owned and managed. Small stalk of attentive bartenders. The owners ate present and involved. And the live music tonight was off the hook. They have a legit stage and good bands. The beer and liquor selection was great, and the fish plate and burger were very good. Great for bar food. After many months of trying, I made it out to The Quarry in Thornton, Illinois, and ordered some long awaited pizza. I was quite disappointed that a marinara sauce - sweet - rather than pizza sauce was used as the base, making the regular thin crust wet, soggy and not brown at all. Even though reheated later, the sausage pizza, with scant sausage at that, could not be improved to taste like real Italian pizza. I should have tried a burger instead perhaps. We mostly ordered drinks and a couple appetizers, yet for most of the time, half of our party had no drinks or food. Servers were rude and ignored us. First time at the Quarry Saturday, March 29, 2025. Really cool local spot, had a good time. There was a piano player and singer, very nice, laid back evening. Music wasn't overwhelming loud, we were able to still talk and visit. The atmosphere is pretty chilled, not a huge venue, but able to relax. The food was real good, some had the cod, burger, and tenders, no complaints. Fish was fresh and tasty, burger and tenders were good as well. The service was ok, server was multi-tasking so can't complain, however, we did present a promotional coupon and didn't pay attention, but didn't receive the discount. Bummer. I love the bands that come to the quarry. I have seen some stellar bands. Ryan brings in some quality entertainment! So many I am fans of and would not have seen if I had not gone to the Quarry. The food is really good. I love the burgers and wings. And the pizza is so tasty. The drinks are so good. Corrine makes this blood orange old fashioned that had me in a state of utter bliss. It would be a shame to lose this place. It is truly a unique place to go. And the speakeasy is an awesome place to have a party. read more

Have been here a handful of times. Normally just chill and enjoy the piped in music and atmosphere. Not sure what was going on last night but came in and there was a group having some half assed, horrible karaoke session in the bar. I think the owner or manager was pretty well toasted and joined in on the nonsense as well. Had the volume on the speakers pretty well full throttle and it was a shitshow to say the least. Wound up leaving because I couldn't carry on a conversation with the person I was with. Bad look to have the owner make an ass of himself if that was the case. read more

The moment you walk in you feel welcomed ,Ryan the owner will great you on Thursday night which is a open mic night. It can be loud in this small space but the band playing sounded great. Jenna the bartender was also amazing and fast on coming to your table and taking your order. She also checked in several times and respond to my request with a smile. The real reason I came was because I saw reviews about the food on another site and they mentioned the Gumbo and Jambalaya. The food does not disappoint, the chef Steve is either from New Orleans or spent several years perfecting his craft. The roux in the gumbo has the great nutty flavor and mahagony color you would expect. The portions are also very generous. I did order the fried green tomatoes and they did not disappoint you receive 6 slices covered in a great cornmeal batter and served with seasoned aoli. My friend had the classique Burger and said it was very good and was cooked perfectly to medium rare. I definitely will be returning on a Thursday night to experience the live music and enjoy this delicious food again. read more

Our Bloody Marys were $10 ea no celery just olives, no black pepper or celery salt. Decent flavor but for the money should get full treatment. Chicken dumpling soup was very good and would do again. We both had Cajun pasta included chicken, shrimp and andui sausage. Was just a little bite of spicy heat and thickened sauce. Was a very satisfying meal. Highly recommend it.
