Food was ok. Customer service was terrible. From the second that I walked in with my 9 year old son, it seemed like the staff was irritated that we decided to eat at their restaurant. No greeting. Scolded because we didn't know to walk around to an entirely different counter for their express dine-in service. No appropriate beverages for kids that weren't two liters of pop. The server practically tossed our food on the table and didn't bother to ask if we needed anything else. That's wild because I pre-paid a 20% tip. We just moved to the neighborhood and we were looking forward to bringing our friends and family here for celebrations and such. Now? Not so much. What a disappointing experience. I'm sure the owner will reply with all the apologies, but I respectfully ask that the owner channel the energy it would take to respond to my comment into training the staff on treating the customers with kindness and respect versus acting like we ruined their day because we dared to show up, pay for our food, and tip. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Customer service is HORRIBLE!!! Ordered pizza at 12:30 pm and I was told my pizza would arrive by 1:30 pm-1:45 pm the LATEST. Mind you we old ordered a medium pizza and didn't get it until 1:55 pm!!!!! Pizza was cold when it was arrived and this place is 10 minutes away. This is how I got my pizza and it was delivered. I called and requested a soda and didn't get the paper plates and condiments. After being unable to be accommodated with our large party at a nearby restaurant, we decided on this Beggars location on a whim. We are SO glad we did! Located in an old movie theatre the location and atmosphere is very unique and delightful. Our server, Katie, was incredibly friendly, attentive (but not in annoying way!), and just all around excellent!! On top of that, the food was good too!! We will definitely be back, very interested in the music nights on the original organ, and will always hope and ask for a Katie table! read more

Came here for a birthday party with a large group on Christmas Eve - and it went well. The kitchen was really backed up, and even though we pre-ordered our pizzas an hour before our arrival, they didn't come out until about a half-hour after everyone arrived. Oy. But our server was nice and kept our drinks filled. Pizzas were fine - I liked the stuffed the best, of course. :D Wished the mushrooms were fresh instead of from a can though. But the reason this gets 4 stars (instead of the 3 I would've left based on the kitchen delays) is because of their incredible organ player! What a delight! This guy was amazing to watch and kept everyone entertained during the evening. The organ is unbelievable, with so many interesting elements throughout the space. Very cool and very unique. Probably the lowest rating I've given in a while. I'll just cut to chase. Parking is decent, they have there own lot which is a plus. Weren't really greeted when we came. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The restrooms were a big disappointment, which I what mainly caused the low rating. I went to the men's room the same time my wife went to the lady's room and we both came out disappointed in the lack of cleanliness. I was shocked to find the lady's room was lacking as a lot of times it's us guys that mess our bathrooms up lol. The food was good overall. Had wings and reg crust pizza. Not a huge fan of this place. I grew up on Giordano's and the fact that I was so desperate for deep dish that I had to order some from Beggar's did pain me greatly. I give them an extra star for the good portion size but I don't like deep-dish how they make it if mine was made correctly(i posted a picture). The only other deep dish I know that has more crust than toppings comes in a Lunchable and is nowhere near $20. I'd much rather buy that for next time. read more

Ok, so maybe I shouldn't be so critical considering a group of us came for the $8-something lunch buffet. But if I were to speak strictly on food quality, it definitely is lacking. It's what you can expect from buffet food sitting in chafing dishes that were not catered to... Burnt/dried out pizza, over cooked pasta, unseasoned vegetables, dessert cookie pie that was not cooked evenly (burnt at the crusts and a gooey mess in the middle). I tried my friend's beer. I'm guessing it was borderline skunked, as it stung in my mouth and left a pungent aftertaste. On the brighter side, what I did like about the place was it's character. Is it's built into an old theater, so it has a fun personality. If you want to fill your stomach for cheap, this is the place to be. read more

This is my first go to place to get my premium pizza fix. Every time we order, the crust is perfect, the sauce is just right and the pizza is loaded up with toppings. Here's what we get - a medium or large with extra cheese, sausage, mushroom pepperoni and ground beef - the thing weighs a ton and is well worth it. I am such a carnivore and dang, I get totally stuffed like a roasted pig with an apple in my mouth. I will say that the Lansing location makes the best pizza. Really surprised at this beggars. Been ordering for years. This time I had a delivery through door dash only to receive a pizza that's was doughy and not done. I called and spoke with the manager(who is absolutely the worst) and he told me to send him a picture text of my pizza so he could look at it smh. Beggars pizza has a certain standard and this location does not have it. I'll start with the quality of their pizza. It's frozen, it's not thick, their cheese is runny, and their sauce is watery. The hospitality in my dine in experience was awful. They've created their own system called "express dine in". This is a made up concept that literally doesn't exist anywhere else except maybe fast food chains. Basically they've taken the waiter experience out of the equation and make you order at the counter and tip before you've even received your food. They also do not have iced beverage drinks (you know in like glasses like normal restaurants ) and force you to drink out of plastic bottled drinks. The entire point of this location is its aesthetic of being inside an old movie theater. Why you are chasing people away from this I will never understand. The vibe I got from this place is that they don't want you to dine in at all. I challenge management to go to any other Beggars pizza, (may it be Oak Forest, Mokena, Orland Park, etc...), try their pizza and try to tell me that yours doesn't taste completely different. What an embarrassment. The people of Lansing deserve better than this. What a waste of space and lack of effort to do at least the bare minimum in operating a restaurant. I feel sorry for anyone that works here and has to deal with these absurd policies. I am by no means upset with them. Management simply has lost their minds. read more

Oh the memories.....I miss this place so much. Beggars Pizza has by far the best thin crust pizza. I can't say to much about the staff I mean its really hit or miss with them but I can deal with the staff as long as my pie is amazing as it always is. After about 40 years, my business with this Beggars has now come to an unfortunate end. I called in my pizza order this evening, & asked if curbside were available. I was assured that it was. Today I had my grandson with me, who has severe autism. Some days he's better than others. However, today was not a good day for him, & I knew that it wasn't feasible for me to leave him in the car, or take him inside. I was told that my order would be ready for curbside in 45 mins. I arrived about an hour later, & called from the curbside/pickup lot. I was then told "we don't have curbside today". I told the individual that I'd specifically asked (in fact- I'd asked TWICE just to to clarify) if curbside were available, & had been assured that it was. I then also mentioned that I had a young child with me that didn't allow me to come inside. I was interrupted & abruptly told to "hold on". About a couple minutes later, the individual returned & just said "we don't have curbside today". Not even an apology. I told her to cancel my order & left. This is extremely unfortunate. The pizza here IS good, & as stated above, I've been a customer for YEARS. Over the years, I've noticed that the clientele has become more diverse. A GOOD thing, IMO- business is business. However, I've noticed that with the diversity, the customer service here has GREATLY declined over the years. The employees are often abrupt & unwelcoming. If the thought behind this is that not everyone needs to be treated fairly & professionally- THINK AGAIN. It would be a shame if the doors of one of the original Beggars locations has to close because people choose to go elsewhere for better customer service. Well my brother didn't listen to me and ordered another pizza from Beggars. This time it was a family size with sausage and onion with a 2 liter of Pepsi. Price with tax, and delivery was $30. Then add a tip to that. This time the crust wasn't rock hard like cardboard. It was more rubbery tasting. Very hard to to chew through. This was what was supposed to be a THIN crust pizza. My kids and I sampled the lunch buffet at about 12:45 p.m. The salad bar featured some very fresh chopped romaine lettuce with topping choices that included egg, two kinds of cheese, croutons, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives and cottage cheese. About seven different pizzas were featured and were kept toasty on a large hot plate. A small pasta station was in the corner. My son, (who will eat almost anything) decided to skip the pasta station because the sauces looked like they had not been freshened in a while. Your pizza is super, but I do want to offer my humble suggestions to Beggar's Pizza: 1. Add some toppings to that salad bar! Mushrooms, green onions, bell peppers would be a great start! Obviously, you have that in your inventory! 2. Label the pizzas on the buffet...freshen the pasta and the sauce. 3. Paint the interior! Cool place. It is built in an old vaudeville theater. I would go during the organ nights, it is really quite fun to see all the old actuators still working. Service was slow, but polite. It was busy to begin with, but even when it was slower service did not improve. The pizza was a little greasy, but that comes with the loads of toppings on their thin crust.
