We decided to drive over to squid lips from the Orlando area and try it out today. We had heard great things about the other locations and like where this one is located along the water. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and then ordered entrees. Oddly the drinks came and then within a couple of minute, the appetizer AND our entrees came. No time in between. We ordered calamari which was good. That was the extent of the good food. Like I said the entree came within a couple of minutes of the appetizer. My wife had the citrus salmon with rice and veggies. I had the scallop basket with fries and cole slaw. My wife's salmon had no citrus flavor and was like rubber and seemed like it had been microwaved. The veggies were seriously overcomes. Based on the description of the scallops, it sounded like they were fresh, lightly breaded and would be good. Unfortunately, they seemed like frozen scallops with a heavy breading and they had a fishy taste. The cole slaw was not good either. Fries were fine. We had hoped for something good....but were disappointed and won't be back anytime soon. We will stick with what we know and enjoy over that way! read more

The new outdoor patio at the Cocoa Beach Squid Lips is great. Great Atmosphere. The only beef I have is that you have to be careful when you order a drink. My daughter asked for a simple beer and they gave her one in their take home plastic cups. We didn't ask for it at all. Ended up having to pay much more then we expected. I actually saw this happen to a table next to us. I would definitely reuse to pay for it next time. Trying to pad the bill a little? Other then that, food was good! Amazing burger!? Holy cow how does a mostly seafood restaurant in cocoa beach turn out one of the best burgers ever!? Juicy flavorful yum! Now on to the fish and chips. Skip it. Little bits of fish, breaded - so more breading than fish. No flavor except for the spice in the breading. I personally didn't like the fries I don't care for 'seasoned' fries but my son liked them. I teetered between 2-3 stars. We were greeted by a friendly host and service was sweet. However, when I wanted to add tomatoes and onion to my wrap, I was told the kitchen wouldn't allow it- now how hard is that? The shrimp, chicken and non fried fish is all wood grilled but almost had too much of a charcoal or kerosene taste- very gross. At our table we tried the crab cakes , the isla morada fish and coconut shrimp. Worst coconut shrimps ever! It is a fun place, right on the water. You can sit inside or outside to dine. We love sitting outside, watching the sun set or the dolphins swimming. The drinks are good. So are their daily specials Monday - Wednesday. Be patient. Just like so many other restaurants, they need waiter staff. But the food is good and the place is fun. read more

My wife and I were laying on the beach when a banner tow plane flew over with a banner for Squid Lips. We decided to give it a go. We arrived just after the live music ended, which was a big reason for going. We will make sure to get there earlier next time. Atmosphere and view were great, servers were attentive and friendly and food was excellent. We had calamari for an appetizer, my wife had fish and chips and I had the crab snd lobster cakes with garlic mashed potatoes. All were very good. We might not have an appetizer next time as we had to leave a little of our meals on the table. I had 1 crab and lobster cake and it was plenty. I went to Squid Lips on 5-18. I sat at the bar. There were 3 or 4 servers within view at all times. I went around 3 in the afternoon, first visit. It took about 5 minutes before anyone noticed I was even there. I asked about the specials and was given a run down. there were 2 tables and 2 people sitting at the bar and me. Not busy at all. It took about 10 minutes to order and get a beer. When it was empty I had to wave down the waitress and ask... at an empty bar?? I decided to try the fish sticks which were delicious. I ordered those and finally got my second beer delivered. at that point they asked for my card. I said I was paying cash, and they said they NEEDED my card to start a tab. I gave them my card. When my second beer was empty I tried waving the waitress down again, she acted like she didn't hear me went to talk to a co-worker. when she came back she asked if i would like another beer. I said no, please give me my tab. I'm paying cash. She asked if I would like her to put it on my card. I said IM PAYING CASH. Then she handed me my tab. I got a tab for menu price on my beer and happy hour food. I told her. She said that she gave me the right amount. Then I said, we had a discussion before I ordered. You told me a different price than menu price. She acted surprised, looked and my tab and said oooops, let me change that. I guess if you arent a regular, they will try and cheat you. If my card starts getting used, or gets charged randomly, I will know who took it and copied the number. If you aren't a local, stay away. I am a local, but it was my first visit. We this place! We like to boat here for lunch from our place on Merritt Island. Always choose the deck to watch the show - pelicans and catfish right in front of us!! BTW, they have dispensers which you can "feed" to feed the catfish. Ron is the greatest bartender ever - be sure to try the Dragon Point IPA!!! And my food favorite so far is the Overwater Burger (Ron's favorite, too!). They have live music, but outdoor TVs would be a great addition so we can watch sports as well as the wildlife ! read more

This is definitely a place that you go to almost solely for the experience alone, almost like a Bubba Gump's. The food was kind of pricey, but we had a groupon (which are available for all locations) so it didn't hurt our wallets too bad. The oysters were over cooked, grits under seasoned, and the seafood enchilada was lacking in seafood taste. But being the optimist I am, the wings were great and on reasonably priced since they have a pretty decent happy hour. Our server, Justin, was as nice as they come and super friendly. Stopped by for a quick bite with my wife. They have fishes you can feed outside which was so much fun. They seemed like they were starving lol. So this restaurant is REALLY big in the inside.
