Smash Burger Tacos 10/10 (sub beyond burger and no aioli)
    Jessi M.

Great food and great vibe! We parked in the back so we came in through the outside bar and just ended up sitting there. The bartender came around to give us menus and take our order. I noticed they had a Beyond Burger on the menu and asked if by chance they could sub that in the smash burger tacos and the chef happened to be standing right behind us so the bartender (our server) asked if he could make it happen and he said he was happy to accommodate. Well I was blown away by those tacos! We were so happy this friendly couple recommended that we come here. We were most definitely impressed! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It seems like quite a popular spot for locals and it's no telling why.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a live guitarist playing outside and a DJ inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not only was the food good, so was the entertainment. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Went here a couple times and I feel like their food is a hit or miss, but they have consistent things on the menu. The service is always friendly and fast. They have good deals. This peanut butter pie was to die for. Coconut shrimp didn't taste super fresh

This is a tiki hut/ dive bar on A1a... that is a major recommendation in itself... 300 yards to the Atlantic ocean. Decent menu seafood options and regular bar food. I had the seafood dinner. I was very happy. Pretty sure my server was the owner. Took great pride of place and made a really good mojito... prices were what you would expect of a beach bar meal and two cocktails was under $50 m. I was not disappointed

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is cool. Outside with live band and inside with AC.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was packed last night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with Reuben tots and let me say....these have been missing in our life! They were awesome. Tots were perfectly crispy and Reuben toppings perfect. Jess had the Patellac smash burger on rye and loved it. I had chopped cheesesteak on Texas toast. Also delicious and very hot temperature which I love. The servers were friendly and had the Easter theme going on. Fun place, we will be back.

We went in for a drink and a snack just after 6 pm. We missed happy hour, but the fish dip appetizer we shared with a glass of wine and a beer was very good. Service was excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It smelled great because the grill was smoking ribs that night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will go back for those!

We Ordered oysters (mushy), fish dinner and crab cake dinner plus drinks. We got our food which my crab cake was really good. I had ordered broccoli (double steamed) and collard greens. Our food was dropped off by a food runner who left when we were asking for hot sauce and he didn't hear. Waited for our waitress we never saw her so I found someone else. My broccoli was cold and raw. I wasn't able to eat it. We never saw our server again. We had to wave down other servers for boxes and our bill. I heard her tell another customer she was even working. However as much as I appreciate her initial help it was such a bad experience service wise. I could get another cocktail. We had to find someone for our bill. Who happened to be the manager. She apologized and was great that's why I gave 3 stars. Service is 90% of the experience. The manager compt us $10 As for the ambiance it was fine. Little run down but tiki area was great. However There were two brothers on the next table were complaining about their wives Lori and Carol. Talking loud my advice Run ladies. These guys are looking for the next Mrs BeerGut. Though they loved Arie the bartender and stayed just to ogle her.

Fun outdoor tiki bar with big TVs. I happen to show up on a football Sunday. They have a band, lovely dog friendly crowd. Bartenders were pros. They are super busy but still give good service. 5 stars for good food in a tiki bar setting. Food is good. The sho nuff shrimp was fun and lightly breaded with a fun sauce. Mahi sandwich I ordered blackened. Cooked perfect with grilled bun and LTO. It's a bit loud with the band. I had water and had a great lunch at the bar.

A local's place for sure. Has been a few different places over the last five years but it is all that it appears to be. Lots of drink specials throughout the week and live music Fri-Sun. Our waitress got our drink order then was absent. Fortunately another server took our order and we were ready to eat when the chef brought our food out. I can appreciate not letting the food die in the pass. Chicken Tenders were really good. Batter was tasty and they are a do over for sure. My smash burger was a bit smaller than I thought 1/4 pound would be but I will tell you the carmalized onions were very good. I did not even pick up on them being on the burger. Fries were pretty good and hot. Looking around at the clientle there were some definite locals with their pups on the patio. I would recommend the patio but beware....there is a smoke pit that if the wind is blowing the wrong way will ruin your experience. The inside is a bar and looks it. Dark and should never be seen in the light of day. Looks do decieve and I was pleasantly surprised by the food.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Out of all the restaurants still in business in the Melbourne/Palm Bay area of the Space Coast, the one that has truly lasted the test of time is The Burger Inn. Located on US-1, The Burger Inn is a testament to the city's history as the restaurant was first founded back in 1952. That was a time when Melbourne was the eastern point for cattle herding in Central Florida. US-1 was still a dirt road back then. As a matter of fact, The Burger Inn is one of the five-oldest restaurants still in business in Brevard County. By age, it is the second-youngest (Dixie Crossroads in Titusville, FL is younger while Ashley's, Lone Cabbage Fish Camp, and the Old Fish House Bar & Grille are older). The age The Burger Inn shows is more a testament to its delightfully tacky charm more so than be dated. In short, their age equates to experience and wisdom that still makes them a popular choice amongst restaurant-goers anywhere, both locals and tourists alike. The Burger Inn is located on the eastside of US-1, just a little ways north of the Eau Gallie Art District, but just a little ways south of the Big Orange roadside attraction. Take note that the entrance into The Burger Inn is a "right turn only," so patrons going south will need to turn in at the light before or after The Burger Inn and take the residential roads to it. The Burger Inn, as mentioned earlier, is delightfully tacky in its charm. It has the updated design of a 1960s drive-thru diner with its bright colors of the time. Think of a lot of red and yellow, neon lights, and black-and-white checker floors. If it further helps, think of movies like Grease. The majority of seating is outdoors with stone chairs and tables which were famously used in old-school garden parks of the 1970s with their tile mosaic designs. The seating is shaded and have roll-down canvas covers to block sunlight and wind just in case. The bar area is still intact with all the old-school cookery right in front of you. But take note people were "smaller" back then so if you are bigger or taller person, sitting at the bar will be uncomfortable. This is a burger dive bar so most of your food will be of that preference. But unlike other places, they still place precedence on their classic burgers, sides, and milkshakes. You can truly attest to the rest of their menu if their basics are delicious, and I will say their regular cheeseburger, fries, and shake are more than good, but have that satisfaction from eating a good ole' fast food meal back when such was done with actual care. That doesn't mean The Burger Inn has not kept with the times. They have updated their menu to include present day offerings such as chili-cheese fries, onion rings, mozerella cheese sticks, and much more. Finally on the food, they do have a challenge in which you eat a 10-patty cheeseburger, a large order of chili-cheese fries, and a 32 oz. shake in less than 30 minutes, you will get a free t-shirt and your meal is free. If you fail, you pay $40 for the attempt (which is not bad for a price if you think about it). Actually, everything on their menu is priced decently. A burger is about $5, which is fair given inflation, but worth it when you are eating a wholesome old-fashioned burger. Probably the only Issue worth addressing is the restroom. Remember how I said the bar seems to be made for people at a time when they were smaller. The same goes for the restroom. It is literally only a single unisex room that somehow is smaller than the space in a portable potty. The toilet literally runs under the sink. Talk about a tight squeeze. Despite that minute details, I have never been disappointed eating here at The Burger Inn. They've always been consistent with their food, especially during a time when specialty groups seem to naysay on what we can or cannot eat. Ergo, I am giving them five-out-of-five stars. Definitely give The Burger Inn a chance.

We visited Charlie & Jake's on Father's Day and first impressions were great. The place was spotless, had that rustic barbecue-joint vibe, and despite the holiday crowd, we were seated quickly and greeted right away by a friendly, professional server. Service was pleasant, but our drinks seemed to be playing hide-and-seek. We had to ask for refills every single time we wanted one. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered the smoked Old Fashioned, which arrived with enough dramatic presentation to make nearby tables stop and stare. Absolutely worth ordering. A small hiccup: when I unwrapped my utensils, the knife appeared to have some sort of residue on it. Since I didn't actually need the knife, I didn't ask for a replacement, but it was worth mentioning. Now let's talk about the star of the show: the smoked chicken. Holy smoke signals, Batman. This was hands-down the best smoked chicken I've ever eaten. Moist, flavorful, perfectly cooked. I would happily order it every week and never get tired of it. My sides were collard greens and a baked sweet potato, both served in adorable metal measuring cups. The sweet potato was good. The greens were fine, but could have used a little more seasoning and personality. My husband ordered one of the meat platters. He enjoyed it, but there wasn't anything that inspired a speech, tears, or vows of lifelong devotion. The toast, however, nearly drowned itself in butter. I wasn't aware bread could absorb that much liquid and still maintain structural integrity. It was literally dripping when he took a bite. Somewhere between toast and sponge. My hush puppies were unfortunately the low point of the meal. They tasted like someone mixed flour and water, formed little balls, and introduced them to a deep fryer. They desperately needed seasoning and I didn't finish them. The fried pickle appetizer was excellent and the portion was generous enough to feed a small pickle-loving village. When the server dropped off the check, we politely declined. We don't leave restaurants without dessert unless there's a natural disaster involved. My husband ordered the banana pudding, which came in a cute square glass container and was very enjoyable. My daughter ordered the peach cobbler. Calling it "peach" felt a little optimistic. There were approximately two peach slices in a mountain of cobbler topping. She loves crust, so she wasn't upset, but if you're expecting fruit, bring a magnifying glass. The filling itself could have used more flavor and some warm spices, and it was absolutely swimming in caramel sauce. A good vanilla bean ice cream would have elevated the whole thing. My son ordered the peanut butter chocolate pie and immediately entered a state of dessert enlightenment. Deep peanut butter flavor, rich chocolate, absolutely fantastic. Final takeaway: Order the smoked Old Fashioned. Order the smoked chicken. Order the peanut butter chocolate pie. Maybe don't order the hush puppies unless they've found a spice rack since Father's Day. Overall, a clean restaurant, friendly service, excellent atmosphere, and a few standout menu items that are worth coming back for.

Baci is definitely hidden gem in the strip mall. There is also ample parking too. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles, the bartender Melissa was probably one of the nicest bartenders I have ever met anywhere (and I've been to a lot of restaurants). Melissa is warm and welcoming and she makes a really good martini. I had Melissa make a limoncello martini and I had her add lavender which was amazing! The blood orange martini was also very good and the nutty old-fashioned, blackberry, martini, and chocolate martini (without the hazelnut) were all delicious too. You can tell the bartender Melissa really enjoys her job and she told me so! There is also clearly regulars that come to this restaurant for a reason that were very nice and welcoming too. I liked this place so much that I went two nights in a row before coming back to Chicago. Baci offers various specials through throughout the week and they keep their prices fairly reasonable. The garlic knots are very good that come with the entrées. The Baci ball appetizer was very good too, which was dough deep fried with a meatball and pesto sauce. The marinara that comes with it is also fresh and delicious. The eggplant Rotolo was fantastic (with the vodka sauce substitution) but the marinara sauce is just as delicious and ample for two people. I recommend the pasta on the side for an up-charge. The next night, I tried the chicken piccata, which did not compare to the eggplant Rotolo. This is a no-frills cozy pizza and pasta restaurant with a great cozy bar. I will definitely continue to come back when I'm visiting Florida, which is often as this is one of my new favorite restaurants when visiting this part of Florida. This restaurant definitely earned their five stars! If you have not tried this restaurant, I would absolutely come visit them (especially if you can find a seat at the bar as they get busy), you will not be disappointed!
