The Nightmare Burger lacked any flavor. My son's chicken fingers were rubber, and came with about 12 French fries. Server implied our dishes came with sides, but then were charged for all of them. We're from California and we visit every other month and we LOVED Square Roots. We're so excited to have another restaurant in the Square! The decor is spot on. They did such a great job with the place. Here was our experience. We only had a hour before we had to get to the airport. We were going to go to the Tavern but we wanted to try something new. We almost went across the street cause 13 dollars seemed expensive for a Bloody Mary. However there was a guy outside that was raving about the drinks. So we popped in. My dad is super stingy and opinionated about his Bloody Mary's and he said "this is the best Bloody Mary I have ever had". And he's from a farm in Ohio. So you know it's legit. My brother in law ordered the wings and flipped out. We had the corn elote dip and my fiancé freaked. Then the giant pretzel came and blew our faces off. It's deff worth 15 bucks if u wanna feed everyone. And I'm so stoked that it wasn't a melted American cheese dip. I hate those. There cheese dip for the pretzel was awesome. The food was good. Brisket tacos A+. Wings were decent, not spicy enough for my liking. They have a "Murder" sauce which is their hottest and by name, I stayed away, the next one down was mild, but the smoke flavor in the wings were good. Service was slow, and forgetful, and who runs out of ranch? There were some other items they were out of too. I don't understand how you start a weekend running out of things? Overall a good experience, not running at 100% IMO. read more

This use to be a great place. Just went there and it was horrible!! The food was awful. The pretzel was way smaller than it use to be and burnt. The drinks were cheap and not prepared right. The waitress only cared about talking to her friends instead of waiting on her tables. Not to mention the manager stood where we could see her eating and obviously her food wasn't prepared right cause she made a disgusting look on her face and walked back to the kitchen. We tried to give this place one more chance and it failed. Would not recommend to anyone. Hopefully their new business Culinary Misfits is better because this one has gone to crap. The food at Square roots was nice comfort food. The space is a bit loud and noisy. The weekends are extremely busy but if you show up after The usual dinner rush, you don't have to wait as long. They did have some gluten free options which is always a plus when you have celiac's disease. I really liked their wings. Our waitress was just OK, she could've been a little more attentive. But the food is worth going back to for. It's nice to have another quality restaurant to go to here and Crown Point. read more

We received our appetizers, soup/salad and entrees before our first drinks ever came. The server did keep apologizing for the wait but I don't think I've ever had slow drink service like that. What a perfect lunch. Great looking place with a rustic ambiance and perfect decor. Exciting menu and the food did not disappoint. We agreed to each order something from a different section of the menu and then did a little sharing. All of it was "Over the Top". I would have been thrilled no matter which item they set in front of me. But the star of the show was our incredible server, Peyton!!! She was so friendly and helpful. Took us through her menu favorites and made great suggestions. We enjoyed an awesome pretzel, Brisket Nachos, Bang bang Shrimp, and I ordered the Big Sexy Steak Sammy. Come on now people - who doesn't love a Big Sexy Steak Sammy??? Drinks were never empty and every time a staff member passed our table they stopped to pick up unneeded dishware and trash. Manager Kyle swung by to check on us and we also had the great privilege of meeting Miss Kim. I absolutely love this place. Too bad I live exactly 1,999 damn miles away. Great new place! I loved everything about it from the decor, friendly staff and the food. I had a special of the day, a pulled boar on hoagie with teriyaki, jalapeño, cucumber and cilantro. It was outstanding. On my second visit I tried the truffle oil pizza and added pulled pork to it. It was definitely a YUM! My dining partner had the Santa Fe salad and said it was delicious. 2nd visit. Unique menu and next level bar food but falls miserably short if you are eating healthy or watching sodium, carbs, etc. Forget about asking for clean, grilled chicken breast. A guest of mine has to watch sodium so he requested low/no salt preparation. The server looked at him like a deer in headlights and after speaking to the chef indicated there was nothing that could be prepared with low sodium including the grilled chicken. No effort was made to accommodate him and worse the plain side salad he ordered as it was a desperation option never even arrived to the table. Horrible service to boot. read more

Outdoor seating was wonderful and worth the wait. Pretzel was delish smashville chicken was good I asked for more bang bang sauce to add to it and that made it awesome.
