This restaurant was one of the best on our trip. The food was perfect and our service was great also. Wow, this place was seriously amazing, it was definitely a highlight of our vacation. Everything we ordered tasted absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. I highly recommend checking this restaurant out if you're ever in the area. We'll definitely be back next time we visit!

We had dinner here while on vacation. The servers were incredibly friendly. They had the biggest hot pretzel we have ever seen. The green beans were the best I've ever had! I never get very excited about vegetables but I wished I had just a plate of them. The chicken was also very good. We loved it so much we went back a second night. Definitely give them a try!

We went to Fiddlehead on a recent roadtrip. The service, food and ambiance was exceptional. Near the Lake Michigan beach. Highly recommended.

Very cute place in Michigan City with a pretty varied menu including some vegetarian options as well. The chicken carbonara was a little salty but very good. The shrimp tacos were fantastic! Perfectly cooked shrimp with a spicy sauce covered in coleslaw with tomatoes. The Fiddlehead salad looked delicious as well with lots of toppings. The salads are large enough to share, so come hungry and bring friends! They also have a great selection of house cocktails that are creative and well crafted. The service was helpful and pleasant too. Nice place I'll come back to when I'm up that way.

Love the variety of the menu and so many gluten free options. Tried the pirogues this time. Plus the amazing pulled pork sandwich with delicious sweet potato tots. Delicious

Fiddlehead is our favorite! Delicious food, generous portions, attentive service, and beautiful indoor/outdoor spaces. Some menu items sell out fast, so arrive early. Always leave happy and full! Food: 5/5.

I went with the spaghetti bolognese and it reminded me of something homemade. The meat sauce was hearty and not overly salty like some places. The pasta was al dente and the portion was generous. I liked that they served it with garlic bread, which was actually pretty good. Staff was attentive and the food came out fairly quickly. It's a chill spot, good for casual dinners. I'll be back to try the lasagna.

I had the fettuccine alfredo and it was creamy without feeling too heavy. The pasta was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of bite. I could tell the sauce was made fresh and had a nice garlicky undertone that really worked. The portion was generous and I even had leftovers for the next day. Our server was super friendly and checked in often without being overbearing. The restaurant had a cozy vibe with warm lighting and soft music in the background. Definitely a great spot for a casual dinner with good pasta.

We dined in this past Saturday evening with some friends and were seated quickly. Our server was friendly but not the most attentive. I ordered the mac daddy burger with sweet potato tots, which was delicious (I'd order it again) and my husband ordered the chicken carbonara, which was very cheesy but lacking bacon. Overall, the food and drinks were a little pricier compared to other places; however, it was still a great dinner!

First of all the food are mid, the fish tacos taste like coleslaw, fish don't have a lot of flavor. The menu is slightly overpriced for what they offered. Service was slow, waitress took a long time to serve us.

Lots of parking on the street and a lot next to the building. Rustic decor with brick walls, stamped metal ceiling, hardwood floors. It was loud inside even though they there were sound absorbers on the wall. Water was delivered to every table. Service was a bit delayed and with the noise inside the restaurant, it was hard to hear the waitress and she had difficulty hearing us. The ravioli was very good with a large serving. The hamburger was rated by daughter & husband as a 5.5 on a scale of 1-10. We had been shopping at Lighthouse Outlet mall. I might come here again.

Really great food, but the waitress had 3 additional roles: Bus-boy, bartender and hostess. Perhaps the owner could come in and help?

I ordered the White Fish dish and my wife had Tortellini with vodka sauce with added sausage crumbles. Both dishes were incredible and I'd strongly recommend. Now for the downside and the reason for only rating 4 stars. Prior to dinner we split a Zsa Zsa Salad. The menu describes this as having poached shrimp, asparagus bits, bacon, avocado, tomato with a Balsamic Vinaigrette. For some reason the shrimp decided to leave the plate before we got it. Without the shrimp, the salad was boring and pretty much flavorless. We would have liked it better had they used Romaine rather then the foliage we all used to discard before serving. We asked the Bartender about the missing shrimp and she put in an order for a side of shrimp. The side arrived after we had pretty much finished with the salad. Not complaining because we ate the shrimp as it was the best part. The surprise came when we received the bill which contained the $19.00 charge for the salad as well as a $10.00 charge for the side of shrimp. I pointed that out and it was promptly removed. In summary, I'd suggest a hard pass on this menu item. Not to leave this review on a sour note, we love Cafe Farina and as previously mentioned the entrees were both fantastic. As a side note, we tried their privately labeled Farina Valpolicella Red. Moderately priced and well worth it's $56.00 price. We will order that again.

"A perfect pit stop for pizza, pours, and ridiculous good times"…read more If you're the kind of person who likes pizza so big it threatens to spill over your lap, beer cold enough to make a snowman jealous, and a bar atmosphere that's "rustic chic" -- otherwise known as "dive-bar with a soul" -- then Swells is your joint. Walk in and you're instantly hit with: a dozen TVs showing whatever game, a neon sign letting you know you're not in Kansas (or Chicago), and the unmistakable aroma of something cheesy, savory, and probably sinful. I went for the Detroit-style pizza and wasn't disappointed -- each square slice was like a little piece of heaven on a cardboard platform. The bartenders? Friendly as a farm dog when you show up with the cooler tucked in back of your pickup. Drinks flow quick, conversations are easy, and before you know it you've swapped a few tall tales with locals who've probably been coming in since the 80s (and loving the same 80s-era jukebox hits). The vibe's cozy, no pretense -- just good grub + good company. Yes, the parking lot's about as roomy as a Lincoln continental in a compact-car slot, but that's half the charm -- if everyone else's SUVs are packed in tight, it must mean you found the right place. Bottom line: if you're cruising US-12, or in the mood for cheap drinks, honest food, and a laugh or two -- Swells is the kind of place where you leave with a full belly, a warm buzz, and a grin. I'll definitely be back (and likely announcing it loud enough for the bartender to overhear it over the next game).
