Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a drink and we were going to get an appetizer and then each order entrees. Seemed like just the bar was open so we found an open booth and sat ourselves. The bartender was also our server and he was good at keeping the water full and making us a vodka lemonade but it was in a pint glass - would have rather had it in a smaller 6-8 oz glass though so it didn't taste like lemonade. We ordered the Ruben egg rolls and unfortunately they didn't seem freshly made. The corned beef was chewy and the cheese was old not to mention the grease was pouring out of the end and it was black. I'm guessing they need to change the cooking oil. Anyway, based on the appetizer we decided to leave and go try another restaurant for entrees. read more

Food is great but to go service is weak. No silverware, no napkins bc they expect to not get a tip on to go orders. A tip was given but not deserved. Sad that people only want to give you good service when they expect something in exchange. When you walk in there is no one to sit you.. one guy working there at the bar and doing orders so he seems overwhelmed understandably but he is not nice... like if you have customers just put on a fake nice face for them.. drinks were weak and had way too much mixer in them. Egg rolls had old black oil dripping out and were inedible. So many better restaurants in the area to visit with nicer employees. read more

Every time we come here my family and I love it. The food is always good and the drinks are excellent. The staff is always working hard. I highly recommend having the Bacon Jam Burger because it is so dang good. Hands down the best thing on the menu. My neighbor and I had lunch here today. We were celebrating her 69th birthday and the waitress/bartender and owner could not have been more welcoming. They had the whole bar sing happy birthday and even offer to buy her shots. What a wonderful experience she had and she will be talking about it for a long time. I'm sorry I picked this place to try... Spend your money somewhere else!!!! Service was okay nothing to complain about there. Food on the other hand was disgusting. Please stop serving food. Mac & cheese: bland no flavor, not even a cheesy flavor. If you're gonna serve mac & cheese at least do something with it make it your own not just a scoop of mac & cheese on a plate. Wish I could give zero stars. Flat pop and flat bottle of bud light idk how that even is possible Our server was nice but the kitchen took forever. We didn't even get to eat our food because we had an appt at 130-- every other table in the place got their food except us. The owner(?) manager/cook came to our table and apologized in the most aggressive way possible I just wanted him away from our table. When I did finally get to eat my food after my appointment it was pretty good I bet it would have been even better warm. Seems like this place has gone down hill quite a bit. Very clean place! Every time I have came here (a bunch) it's never been gross, even when it's busy. (Impressive) The food is good ! The specials are always worth trying. Drinks are good. The food was JUST ok. The place looks kind of shabby and rundown. An acquaintance of one of my cousins told us to try the place I don't really know her at all, last time I take a recommendation from someone like that. We started with something called the Monkey Rolls honest to god I think they stuffed them with monkey meat! They tasted sour and gamey we couldn't eat them. I tried the bacon jam burger it was supposed to be medium and was cold and very over cooked. My wife just wanted the blackened chicken wrap but it should have been called the burned to Hell wrap. We tried to talk to our waitress Pamela about the problems with the food but she didn't want to hear about it. RUDE doesn't describe her attitude. She just kept going on about MAGA this and MAGA that. We were there to eat not discuss nutball politics. She wrote something on our check about Trump and no taxes on tips? We didn't leave a tip. The Good, theBad and the ugly..... Good, that everyone in our large party liked their food. Good there was no trace of smoke. Good that Beer was fresh with no off taste or scent that is associated with a keg system that needs cleaning. Good that service was attentive and we were taken care of. The Bad, that the AC was blowing down on us as in most commercial buildings. Dress warm. [What!? Only one bad?.. Yep.] The Ugly.... Wanted to leave, asked for check. Ten minutes, nothing. Server comes to other end of table and asks if (everyone) wants their checks. After a few more minutes everyone gets their checks, and by now I'm standing, except us. No check. Our party is splitting and leaving and we again ask for check. She overlooked ours. I really want to leave. We explain we didn't get our check. She finally brings check for us and leaves. Brings beer to a couple old stags sitting outside and stands there talking (tip topping) for another ten minutes. I go to bar, can't pay him. He goes outside to get her and she finally takes payment from us and other couple in party. Brings back for signature and gets tip reduced from 20% to 0%. I'm thinking it would be nice if the two guys tipped enough on their beer to cover the 20% tip on two meals she lost. Despite the ugly, we recommend the place but would ask for a different waitress. read more

I ordered and asked it to be ready at noon. I arrived with a complicated order of 6 burgers for my employees. Everything was made as requested and waiting for me. Made me the hero at work. They never answer the phone when you call to-go, I've been trying to phone in an order for the last 5 days & withe the phone rings 3-4 times then goes to vm, or someone has the phone in their pocket & don't realize they answer the phone cause you scream "hello" and hear muffled chatter, but noone replies... how the hell did this place stay in business if staff can't answer a dang phone? Are they that busy, or is it to loud to hear the phone ring? When you do complete a call and pick it up, the guy behind the bar makes you feel like you're bothering him & he's gotta find someone to take care of you... Why is he behind the bar or working there if he can't multitask? That's something ALL bartenders are trained to do! So the bff and I had to take a random road trip out to IN... On our way back we were looking for something different for our lunch stop. We stopped in Crown Point for a fast food place we saw an ad for... As we past the 3 Monkeys Pub we knew we needed to turn around and go back! It was late afternoon on Friday, so we missed the lunch rush which was fine with us. We sat at the bar with bartender Kelly who was an absolute delight! We just wanted some apps to hold us over until dinner instead of a heavy lunch and she let us know what her favs were! She also informed us that everything is made fresh every day! This is key! I picked the Caprese Salad Tower... Holy Moly was this full of win! The balsamic reduction was amazing with the fresh basil and mozzarella cheese! I'm a little bit of a tomato snob as we grow them, so the first three ingredients far surpassed the poor mater. I could have eaten three of these salad then taken a nap and my day would have been perfection, but wait there was more... The bff choose the Crab Cakes... She loves to get them wherever we go! I cannot have spicy things so I didn't eat the Spicy Remoulade Sauce that came with it though the bff cleaned out the side cup of it so it must have been great! The cakes were very crabby! It was delish to have a crab cake full of crab and just a little of all the other stuff to add to the flavor! We also agreed on the Godzilla Roll... They offer three sushi rolls at this non sushi place... This roll was better than most of the sushi place around me! The tempura shrimp in combination with wasabi mayo and sauces that were drizzled on the dish (I can't remember what they were) were the perfect combo! It made my mouth water! Just thinking about this lunch again is making my mouth water again! They also have cider which is great as the bff and I have beer allergies. The prices were all VERY reasonable for what they were offering up! This has officially become our new lunch / dinner stop on trips to Indy! Went there on a recommendation and that will be the last time I go. Busy Friday night, and service was so slow some guests left and we finally got apps after 45 mins. and a bowl of soup at the 60 min. mark. The waitress apologized numerous times. When the dinners finally showed up, two dished were good and two were bad. Burgers are allegedly made cooked to order but one was ordered medium rare and one was supposed to be medium. Both were well done to the point of being dry. When asked how the food was we were honest and expressed our disappointment. To their credit, they comped the apps, soup and both burgers. A basic sports bar in a strip mall: plenty of screens, a decent beer selection (okay, I was disappointed, but as these places go it was decent.) Prices were very reasonable. There are plenty of tables, service was very good, and the decor was interesting enough. Smoking is allowed in Indiana, which is a turnoff but not the bar's fault. The service is truly pathetic here. We have tried this place several times and this week was the absolute worst. Not even crowded but it took 10 minutes to simply get acknowledged. Had one drink and still waiting on a menu 20 minutes later. We finally put cash on the table and left. In the prior times we went, service was below average. The menu remains the same and not good. Every place has an off night, but when you go several times and the service is so poor and the food below average, it's time to conclude this place is not worth it. We sat ourselves down and no one greeted us. The bar attender/waitress took 10 minutes to come to our table. When she got to our table, she asked if we were all 21, and when one of us said no, she just said "sorry" and looked at us weird. We were confused what she meant by just saying "sorry," and ripped our menus away (we did not know you had to be 21+ to be there for lunch), but she meant that we couldn't be there. Very rude.
