May I suggest the Lavender Bees Knees. The menu has a large variety of bar type food. We had a charcuterie and the spinach artichoke dip. There was also a hummus trio plate, pizza, falafel, wings, and a steak tip plate. They satisfy all nutritional needs. This is definitely going to be my summer hang!

A friend of mine lives in the neighborhood and suggested grabbing a drink there, and it turned out to be such a fun spot. I'm not usually a big cocktail person, but once I saw they had espresso martinis, I was immediately on board. Their cocktail menu is actually pretty impressive, with a nice mix of classics and more creative options, plus everything is made with their own spirits. The espresso martini was smooth, not too sweet, and easy to drink! Exactly what I wanted. If cocktails aren't your thing, they also have a small beer selection, which is nice if you're with a group and everyone wants something different. We went on a Friday night and the place was busy, with live music playing and a great vibe overall. Lots of people hanging out, chatting, and clearly enjoying themselves. It had that local neighborhood feel, like a place people come back to often, not just a one-time stop. This was such a great find and a perfect spot for a casual night out. Good drinks, live music, and a fun atmosphere made it a win. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

When a friend of mine, who like me also enjoys bourbon, suggested StillTheOne, I was excited to pay them a visit. That visit went in unexpected directions - not bad ones fortunately. Even though they have a small parking lot, you might not be able to find a spot. In that case, be prepared to park on a side street, possibly up to a few blocks away, and then be prepared to walk uphill a couple of blocks. The tasting area is very welcoming and cozy, with seats at a small bar, "bistro barrels," some long tables and at least one really comfy sofa. The owners are really knowledgeable and friendly. They're the type of people with whom I'd enjoy sitting down and having a conversation, if they weren't already busy running the place. This was a place where I was surprised that I wasn't fond of the bourbon. The whiskey and rye were more appealing to me. But the big surprise was the honey vodka. I've never been big on vodka or vodka cocktails, and I'd never had one I'd consider sipping. This one I would. Similarly, the gin was very interesting, and this would not be a gin I'd use for traditional cocktails, but would find other options. But this is still a really neat place to visit. Once you find which liquors and cocktails you like here, I could see spending a nice amount of time here with friends.

I'm a huge fan of the 914 Bourbon and the honey vodka. If you don't like vodka - you will still like this vodka. And if you like vodka, you will be drinking this stuff neat. It's unbelievable good and really smooth. They also do karaoke nights and have food trucks on Saturday so it's just a cool place to spend some time with other friends and just enjoy an authentic distillery experience that's a short drive from some great at restaurants.

Riverhead is a great place to spend the day sampling local brews, grabbing a bite for lunch, and now you can grab a beautifully made cocktail in the middle of all that. We stopped in to check the place out last weekend since we were next door at North Fork Brewing. We were seated at the bar which was all open to their outdoor seating. Patrons were spaced a part appropriately and all employees had their masks on. They had a list of cocktails, samplings, and small bites. We ended up trying a couple different cocktails, none of which disappointed, and a flat bread that really hit the spot. Drinks were made fresh and will set you back around $12. Warning: you'll want to try more than one! The Blue 71st was one of the best and most interesting gin & tonics I've ever had. The vibe here was so relaxing and the bartenders were so helpful and pleasant. I've already told so many people about this place, I honestly cannot wait to come back and try more from them!

We were the only ones here right around closing time on a Sunday, but were welcomed in anyway and didn't feel like we were keeping anyone which is always nice. The distillery has plenty of cocktail options to choose from made from their signature liquors. The mango mojito here was refreshing and delicious, with just the right amount of mango puree. After spending the weekend getting soaked by drink prices in the Hamptons I was also happy to discover that prices here were incredibly reasonable. A standard mixed drink is $10, cocktails are around $14. Food here is the same as next door as the two share a parking lot with rotating food trucks -- our bartender let us know that in addition to the Greek food truck they also sometimes have a pizza truck that's apparently super good. Will have to come back!
